UNKNOWN OR OTHER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I have driven 20 years in USA, where I had observed a debris (dirt/ rock) from road hitting the wind shield and have never had damaged by car wind shield. My new TOYOTA RAV4 xe, wind shield cracked by UN-noticeable debris hitting it. Wind Shield quality has been compromised by TOYOTA. It is so thin and week that it gave way. I lost confidence in Toyota and feel nervous as similar damage may happen in future also. How can you ensure that they recall and install better wind shield. Dealers sell Warranty for the same when we buy new cars, so that Financial impact is taken care by additional 3-4 K. $ warranty sale. But what about Passenger in front if the windshield breaks and cause face / eye injury. The wind shield of RAV4 is too thin for it large area (size). It may be OK for windows and rear, but not OK for front. Do they test the impact test on Wind shield (1/2 cm stone or ice (hail) hitting the wind shield from their vendors? Toyota is not considering this in Manufacturing Warranty. Relying on Toyota's quality, i denied Dealer's warranty, as I am a safe driver (no incidence in my 40 years of driving. The driver side mirror hit a mailbox and all of the skirt air bags were deployed. Why was this? This should not have happened I need an explanation as to why my air bags deployed with a side mirror hit. The mirror is still attached to the car the glass was just cracked.

A warning message came up that the HYBRID SYSTEM MALFUNCTION contact dealer. This was confirmed by the dealer. According to the dealer and message boards at various web sites, the Hybrid System Malfunction is NOT uncommon. To fix the problem, a wire harness must be replaced with a replacement cost of $2000-$4000. When I asked what changes have been made to the replacement part to address the corrosion problem, the response was there might be a new coating but we do live in New Hampshire.

LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
The Blind Spot Warning system fails to alert the driver when a vehicle in the adjacent lane is partially behind the current vehicle. It only activates when the nearby vehicle is completely behind the current vehicle. Due to this limitation, the system does not provide adequate warnings for nearby vehicles, which has nearly caused several accidents when the driver attempted to change lanes.

Happened at ~644pm on 04/08/24- I heard the noise like a thump or thunk, The car initially pulled towards the roadside, then I corrected the wheel and slowly stopped the car. Upon exiting the car, it became apparent that the ball joint broke just above the plate that attaches to the axle.

Dear Tim Sir, Greetings to you and Team I hope this email finds you well, Brining it to your attention once again ( VOQ #11581817 Previous case no), In a less than 3 weeks of time and after Toyota's investigations and promises went unfaithful. As per Toyota's office sent email on the April 17th stating the vehicle is fit and safe after claiming highly on the investigation report and put me again into unsafe vehicle, Unfortunately, again last Sunday Morning [XXX] 2024 Time around 2:45 AM on the highway 10 near Orangeville this happened again when the vehicle was on the speed of 80KM a BIG Red steering wheel with exclamation mark appeared with warning sound and for a few seconds steering lost all its power by putting me and family in a dangerous situation and I had to stop the vehicle and its regain the power to pull over on the safer side. I called emergency roadside assistance of Toyota at 3:15 AM after taking car in near safe place, They said they would need a few hours to reach out me and requested me if you can still drive vehicle can park at home and contact your dealer, I had no choice than driving the vehicle as I was with my wife on the rainy night and dark road, I took this risk to reach home. I informed Toyota after reaching home safely. This is already brought to your attention briefly last time before with Toyota and so as dealership level and provided Digital facts regarding the safety issue in RAV4 XLE AWD I VIN: [XXX] . Toyota is just giving false commitments in the shape of reports and promises that could lead to accidents or someone's life. in last 3 months its 3rd time and vehicle spend almost 25 days in service centre and and its brand new vehicle with less than 3000 km on it. The radio screen in this vehicle keeps going black. When it is connected to CarPlay, the GPS will randomly shut off. At times, the radio steering wheel controls and the volume knob on the radio will not adjust the volume creating a safety hazard as I not able to lower or turn off the volume. Freeway Toyota in Hanford California did a software update about a year ago in relation to the same issue but the issue persists.

Vehichle has stranded me twice with multiple error messages when I try to start it. All kinds of lights go on and off on the dash and messages include: Parking Brake Unavailable, Voltage Abnormality Steering Power Low, Hybrid System Not Available, Braking Power Low-Stop in a Safe Place, Antilock Brake System Malfuntion, Rear Cross Traffic Alert Unavailable, Blindspot Monitoring Unavailable, Pre-Collision System Unavailable, Visit Dealer. It makes all kind of weird noises and vibrations in the break peddle also during this. I have been told this is a problem with low battary of the 12V but that battery is charged by the Hybrid battary and does nothing but run electronic features, does not start the vehichle. Have read this has happened to people while actually driving the vehichle, I am scared this will cause an accident. 2 year old vehicle.

The contact owns a 2021 TOYOTA RAV4. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, and attempting to stop the vehicle to let other vehicle enter they respective residence, an unexpected truck crashed into the rear area of the vehicle. The contact stated the impact pulled the vehicle forward which led him to crash the other vehicle in front of his. The contact stated the airbags failed to deploy. The contact sustained a neck, knees and back injuries which required medical attention. The contact stated the injuries led him being disabled from work since eight months. The vehicle was towed by the police and repaired by the the insurance. A police report was filed. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V865000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts are not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure, however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

I bought a brand new 2024 Toyota Rav4. It was raining heavy, I drove through some deep puddles. I parked at my jobs parking lot, let my car idle for a few minutes, and I received a message on the dash "Engine Stopped. Steering Power Low." I went out 2 hours later, tried again, same message. Waited all day, even called a Tow truck. Right when tow was about to show up, I started the car again, no message, and car was fine. I told dealership, and they told me it was because the engine got water in it. But looking online it's because of a faulty battery or alternator from the factory. Two days later, it happened AGAIN as I was parking. I saw the warning momentarily as I was turning off the car. I turned it back on again, and no message. Please look into this. I fear for everyone who buys a Rav4 from the factory. It seems to be a common occurrence for brand new Rav4, not just a one or two happenstance.

Toyota RAV4 2023 , had it not even a whole year bought it from the dealer 0miles. Today while running errands parked on the side of the road, car started to vibrate weirdly and then it shut off. I try starting the vehicle again and it just keep showing the same message “Engine Stopped Steering Power Low” with the check engine light and steering wheel light on. After 30minutes I let it sit and when I tried turning the car on again, it ran perfectly but I wasn’t risking it happening again. So I had to call Toyota roadside to tow it since the warranty still covers it. And now I gotta wait to see what’s going on. I did my research on google and a lot of people have the same problem going on with RAV4s.

My vehicle is 2 years old and had 17,000 miles on it when the steering wheel began to peel and chip. Toyota says that it was "caused by the user". There are reports all over the internet about this same problem on this same vehicle.

Engine maintenance light came on saying to go to dealer at 35,000 miles. The coolant bypass valve needs to be replaced in order to prevent the engine from overheating. Our repair shop coordinated with the dealership who admitted that they commonly see this issue on RAV4 and Corolla models, though there is no recall currently in place.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The vehicle simply shutoff while driving. I am told Toyota is aware of the defect related to water intrusion in the air intake. It causes water to intrude into the air filter and map sensor which in turn causes the vehicle to simply shut down.
