The driver’s side A pillar that houses the airbag is not flush with the headliner. There is a gap in the upper section of the A pillar. This gap causes a distraction while driving because the gap is directly in front of the driver’s view. I took the vehicle to the Toyota of Corona dealer in Corona, CA to have the A pillar gap fixed so it is flush and not a distraction while driving. I was provided a video made by the technician of his inspection. In the video the technician acknowledged the gap in the A pillar, but showed that the same gap exists in their brand new Toyota vehicles. The technician filmed a new Toyota Vehicle with the A pillar gap. The technician stated on video “that this how they come and there is no issue with your vehicle.” I spoke by phone with my service advisor and discussed the issue with him, but was advised there is nothing they could do. The driver side A pillar having a gap and being in the direct line of sight of the driver is very dangerous. From the technician’s statements on video, the gap exists on all new Toyota vehicles.

My daughter was on the interstate using cruise control; wet roads but no heavy rain or puddling. The LTA pulled her car off the road, She had to fight to get control of the car to prevent hitting the middle concrete barrier. Once she got the car back into the lane, it jerked the other way down a gravel embankment resulting in scratches and damage to the undercarriage shield. Toyota said the LTA was functioning properly when they tested it in their repair center but also advised to turn that technology off if it was malfunctioning. The repair was $600 but this could have resulted in injury or death. I have a 2025 Camry and the same thing has happened to me more than once but without damage to the car. 2024 Toyota Corolla (TSS 3.0) distinct complaints from drivers: • Sticking and Hard Steering Pulls: Some owners report a distinct "notchy" or sticking sensation when trying to fight the system's automatic steering corrections. Some drivers on Reddit have noted that subtle factory wheel alignment or caster angle imbalances can cause the Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) to constantly over-correct or pull hard to one side. • Deep Menu Navigation: To adjust or turn off the system, drivers have to dive into deep menus via the steering wheel controls on the instrument cluster screen. Toyota owners frequently complain about the aggressive, erratic, and unpredictable steering corrections caused by Toyota's Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) and Lane Departure Alert (LDA) systems. • "Ping-Pong" or Over-Correction: Drivers report that LTA causes the vehicle to bounce back and forth between lane markers or jerk the steering wheel unexpectedly. • False Triggers: The camera and sensors often misinterpret dark skid marks, patched cracks, construction lines, or roadside cyclists as lane lines, pulling the car off course. Safety Concerns: Some owners on Reddit have described near-miss accidents where the system violently steered them toward the edge of the road or into adjacent traffic lanes

In a 2024 Corolla the spiral cable (clock spring) is defective. It controls the airbag, cruise control, horn and more, so it is an important safety mechanism electrical part. Toyota USA is on back order for this part for at least a month, maybe two. This suggests to me that there is a widespread problem with defective Toyota Corolla spiral cables (clock spring) inside the steering wheel. People are driving around with this defective part while waiting for the part to arrive in the US, and will need to pay upwards of $1000 to have the defective part replaced.

A severe, pre-existing life-safety defect and unauthorized structural modification were discovered on my 2024 Toyota Corolla . Following a routine diagnostic check for vehicle pulling, certified Toyota technicians discovered that the vehicle's primary fuel line had been dangerously altered and was held together underneath the chassis by an unsecured wire clothes hanger. The vehicle was immediately grounded as an active fire and explosion hazard. A forensic vehicle inspection by a major insurance carrier (Traveler's) subsequently denied standard repair coverage, formally documenting that the wire-rigged fuel system was a pre-existing mechanical defect resulting from previous work done prior to my purchase of the vehicle from McCluskey Automotive. The selling dealership actively concealed an unroadworthy condition that exposed myself and my minor daughter to a catastrophic vehicle fire.
