Due to a manufacturing concern that has since been corrected, the 4WD system on affected vehicles may malfunction resulting in disablement of the 4WD system and owners may notice warning messages and lamps illuminated of ATP, 4WD, ABS, VDC, AEB, RAB and others. Dealers will remedy the vehicle by replacing the transfer case range sensor. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this service campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaigns I.D. PC984 ⢠New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). ï§ Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information ⢠Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign applicability. 2. If a retailed vehicle affected by this Campaign ID visits the dealer for service, the dealer should inform the customer about the service campaign and communicate that the transfer case range sensor will be replaced free of charge. 3. Summary12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect âTest with DCAâ and âReplaceâ results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: ï· CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 ï· CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ ï· DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ ï· DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. SummaryTrailer Hitch Ownerâs Manual Supplement & Label Voluntary Service Campaign *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is conducting a service campaign (PC928) to provide owners of certain 2022 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SV Long Wheel Base vehicles with a supplement to be placed with the Ownerâs Manual and a warning label to be applied to the trailer hitch. In addition, under service campaign (PC975), Nissan will provide owners of certain 2022-2023 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SV Long Wheel Base vehicles with a supplement to be placed with the Ownerâs Manual (Note: these hitches were previously labeled and these owners do NOT require a warning label for the trailer hitch). The information contained in the Ownerâs Manual supplement revises or adds to the âTowing a Trailerâ, Towing Safetyâ, âTrailer hitchâ and âClass IV hitchâ sections of the âTechnical and consumer informationâ section of the Ownerâs Manual. The supplement and the label will remind current and future operators that the trailer hitch should not be removed or replaced. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. If a dealer receives a supplemental Ownerâs Manual addendum for a vehicle they have retailed, currently have in their new vehicle or pre-owned inventory, or a Nissan Rental Car (NRC), the dealer should either forward the ownerâs manual addendum to the current owner or add the addendum to the Ownerâs Manual in the glove box of any affected vehicle they currently control.
