SummarySERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Nissan vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail.

SummarySERVICE INFORMATION A two-piece design front engine mount is currently being used for the applied vehicles listed. A single thunk noise may be heard on the first acceleration of the day from this type of mount and is considered normal operation. The mount has also been designed with built in free-play that is normal. Under normal driving conditions: * A "thunk" noise may be heard on the first acceleration of the day. And * Does not occur again, or at any other time. DO NOT REPLACE THE MOUNT: * If it has free play or a "single event" thunk sound on the first acceleration of the day. This is considered a normal characteristic of this type of engine mount. * If a shift shock condition is present when shifting from park into gear or between any combination of gears. This condition is due to transmissions line pressures and not movement of the mount. NOTE: Refer to the Electronic Service Manual section TM - Transaxle & Transmission for further diagnostic information on shift shock. See this bulletin for further details.

SummarySERVICE INFORMATION Applied vehicles equipped with a CVT have a "cap" that appears to be a fluid level gauge. This "cap" will NOT have a gauge or "dipstick". This is normal. Do NOT replace the "cap" because it is thought to have a "dipstick". The fluid level is not checked from this location. The fluid level for applied vehicles is checked from the oil pan (refer to the appropriate section of the Electronic Service Manual [ESM]). Whenever checking, filling, or topping off a CVT's fluid level of an applied vehicle for any reason, use the procedure outlined in the appropriate section of the ESM. See this bulletin for further detail.

NOTE - These are the typical conditions in which to duplicate the rear brake squeal/squeak; however, these conditions are not intended to detail all of the possible conditions in which the noise may occur. When attempting to duplicate this noise it is important to have a second person safely standing outside of the vehicle to determine if the noise is coming from the front or rear brakes. ACTION Replace the rear brake pads and the rear brake hardware kit with the parts listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin. - Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section BR - Brake System, for removal and installation information. See this bulletin for further detail.
