I was driving my car was sputtering or trying to shut off while I press the gas and I let go of the gas and it catches and stayed on. I took it to the dealership and they said they found nothing wrong. May 3rd around 12pm im driving on the freeway and as im getting on the express lane going 60 it dies and I couldn't move the steering wheel and I slammed into a guardrail. After doing research my car (vin [XXX] ) had multiple recals from the fuel pump and steering wheel and the dealership never fixed or checked any recalls before selling it to me. The electronic steering lock (ESL) system on my 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250 failed without warning, leaving the vehicle completely unable to start. When attempting to start the vehicle, the key would insert but the vehicle would not crank or start, and the steering lock malfunction prevented normal operation of the vehicle. The vehicle became stranded and inoperable. This failure created a safety risk because the vehicle could not be moved and left me stranded unexpectedly. If this failure were to occur in an unsafe area or emergency situation, it could place the driver and passengers at risk. After researching the issue, I found numerous reports online from other owners of similar Mercedes-Benz C-Class models experiencing the same ESL/EIS failure. This appears to be a common issue affecting these vehicles. At this time, the problem has not yet been repaired. UNKNOWN if the manufacturer has inspected the vehicle. No warning lights or prior symptoms appeared before the failure. The malfunction happened suddenly and without warning.

- #11735812May 5, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 4MATIC. The vehicle has approximately 23,000 miles. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has abruptly and violently applied the brakes and/or come to a near stop while I was driving on highways and side roads, even though there was nothing in front of me that should have triggered emergency braking. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, object, or road hazard present that would justify this braking event. This is not normal braking behavior. The car essentially performs an uncommanded emergency stop or severe deceleration without warning. The force is strong enough to create a serious risk of being rear-ended by vehicles behind me. This has happened at highway speeds and on local roads, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. If a following driver is unable to react in time, this defect could easily cause a crash, injury, or death. The problem appears related to the vehicle’s automatic emergency braking / Active Brake Assist / forward collision avoidance system and possibly other linked driver-assistance systems. The vehicle has already been serviced on two separate occasions for this exact issue, yet the problem has occurred again. Despite bringing the vehicle in for repair more than once, the defect remains unresolved. Because this dangerous unintended braking continues to happen, I cannot continue to drive the car safely with this issue unresolved. On April 1, 2025, I took the vehicle to Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, Kansas for the car slamming on the brakes and beeping when no one was around. The service center calibrated the augmented reality camera and performed a test drive. The invoice indicates that they were unable to duplicate the braking event during the test drive. They ran codes with SDS and found that the augmented reality camera was not calibrated correctly, so they performed a calibration. On December 31, 2025, I again took the vehicle to Aristocrat Motors in Merriam, Kansa

Component/System Failure: The rear subframe on my 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 failed due to severe corrosion/rusting. The subframe is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This failure created a serious and immediate safety hazard. While driving at highway speeds, the structural integrity of the vehicle was compromised, I had to break and lost control of the vehicle and almost causing a crash. This also posed a danger to other drivers on the road. The condition was severe enough that I believe I narrowly avoided a major accident. Confirmation of Problem: The issue has been confirmed by a Mercedes-Benz dealership service department, who identified the subframe as rusted and structurally compromised. Inspection by Other Parties: The vehicle has been inspected by a Mercedes-Benz dealership. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives. Warning Signs Prior to Failure: There were no clear warning lights or dashboard messages indicating this issue prior to the failure. The problem appears to have progressed without visible warning until it became severe. Additional Context / History: Mercedes-Benz has acknowledged subframe corrosion defects in certain vehicles from approximately 2010–2020, but my specific vehicle was not included in the extended warranty coverage. This is the second Mercedes-Benz vehicle I have owned (previously a 2012 model) that has experienced the same subframe failure. I was previously told that this issue had been resolved in newer models, which influenced my decision to purchase this vehicle. Additionally, this vehicle was purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz, which implies it passed a detailed inspection process. Despite this, a major structural component failed. A warranty claim was submitted but denied on the basis of “rust,” even though this appears consistent with a known factory defect.

The rear of the car would begin to slip during turns and when brakes were applied. When I had the issue checked out, my mechanic said that the rear subframe has severe corrosion, rust and holes. The subframe perforation is causing instability in the rear wheels, which is a safety issue. I took the car to Mercedes for an inspection and they confirmed the holes in the sub frame, with the inspector stating that the sub frame is "about to fall off". I believe this to be a safety issue as having the wheels or subframe fall off could cause fatalities. This appears to be a manufacturing defect given recalls for the same issue in other models of the 2015 c300. See video of the inspection of my car here: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My C300 MBZ, 2016 is experiencing the same symptoms as indicated in a recall, but my vehicle is not included in that recall. Camshaft: GENERAL REPAIR A cam is a rotating or sliding piece in a mechanical linkage used especially in transforming rotary motion into linear motion or vice versa. Cams act as a vital component to your automobile's engine. A camshaft is a shaft to which a cam is fastened or of which a cam forms an integral part. Camshafts provide power to the cams which are vital for basic engine operation. The cost of fixing this approximately $10,000 per Mercerdes dealer and estimate from Keyes Mercerdes. The Brief: Mercedes-Benz issued a recall for some model cars tied to a faulty drive shaft.T he problem not only can cause vehicles to lose power but may elevate crash risk, according to the National Traffic Safety Administration. Owners of the affected vehicles can take them to their local dealership to receive free repairs, however per MBZ corporate 2016 C300 not included? Mercedes-Benz is recalling 24,092 cars connected to a drive shaft universal joint that may break, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power.

Mercedes issued a recall for Mercedes C class for the model year up to 2015 for rear subframe that is rusting with holes in it. The dealer tells me my car is not covered by Mercedes even though it is a 2015 model. They gave me an estimate for the repair of over $5000. They say the model changed mid 2015 and mine is a model that is not covered. This could cause a serious crash at high speed. I am not sure why that repair is not covered for my 2015 model & I would like Mercedes to honor the repair.

Vehicle has ongoing and recurring electrical and engine-related defects that affect safe operation. The primary systems involved are the electrical system, engine ignition system, and powertrain. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Prior service records show issues beginning in 2020 involving repeated electronic system failures requiring multiple repairs and component replacements. Since purchasing the vehicle in April 2023, the vehicle has developed more serious failures, including: – September 2024: Check engine light with loss of power and inability to exceed safe driving speeds – October 2024: Engine misfiring due to ignition coil failure requiring replacement of ignition components – September 2025: Additional ignition coil electrical fault (code P0353) The problem has been reproduced and confirmed through dealership service inspections and diagnostic reports. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, appeared prior to failure events. These defects create a safety risk due to potential loss of power, engine failure, and unreliable vehicle operation while driving, which could increase the risk of an accident. The issues have required multiple repairs without permanent resolution and appear to be ongoing and worsening over time.

I am reporting a structural failure of the rear subframe (axle carrier) on my 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 (W205). The component is exhibiting significant internal-to-external corrosion (perforation), specifically at the suspension mounting points. Safety Impact: The vehicle is currently exhibiting unstable handling and a 'skittish' 'swerving' sensation causing the car to 'fishtail' under braking during normal braking and at highway speeds, indicating a compromise in the structural integrity of the rear axle. This poses an immediate risk of a 'loss of directional control' should the suspension components fully detach from the corroded subframe. The Structural Integrity, Loss of Directional Control, Sudden Suspension Failure, and causes extremely dangerous Safety Hazard for my family and other on the road. The corrosion has compromised the mounting points of the rear suspension, creating a risk that the axle will detach while the vehicle is in motion, leading to a catastrophic loss of control. Context: Mercedes-Benz has acknowledged this defect in previous years (2008-2015) via a 20-year extended warranty and in Service Information S135.00-P-0009A. However, they have failed to include the 2016 W205 in the safety remedy despite identical failure modes and documented safety hazards. Currently, as of April 2026, a 2024/2025 federal court ruling [XXX] v. Mercedes-Benz) allowed a class-action lawsuit to proceed specifically covering 2010–2022 models—including the2016 C300 W205—alleging the exact same manufacturing defect. A thorough inspection of the undercarriage of the vehicle shows severe corrosion to the subframe as well as a cracked hub along the drive-train shaft and differential. I have submitted photos along with this Vehicle Complaint From to document the corrosion of the subframe and other defects associated with the devices and systems that transmit power from the engine or propulsion device to the wheels such as the cracks in hubs, shafts, differentials. The R&R rear subframe is showing premature corrosion that can cause structural failure. This can lead to rear suspension detachment, erratic driving behavior, and severe safety risks. This problem has been confirmed by the Mercedes Benz dealer. This has been inspected by the Mercedes Benz dealership. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior me finding out it was failing. I had a multi inspection performed on my car due to another issues and the MB service dept found it during that time. Which means if I had never had the multi inspection done due to another issue I was having with the car, I would not have known.
