SummarySome vehicles may exhibit the warning messages "Safety and Driver Support Systems Temporarily Disabled" or "Front Radar Obscured. Drive Safely." displayed in the instrument cluster despite no dirt on the front radar sensor while driving in specific locations as follows: - Roads with continuous elevated road ways on one side or tall walls on one side - Inside tunnels with an overall rounded shape - Roads with no reflective objects around This is caused by inappropriate decision logic of the control software in the front radar sensor. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the front radar sensor has been modified.

SummarySome customers may experience one or both of the following symptoms while locking and unlocking the doors works fine using the remote transmitter. * Symptom 1: The touch sensor of the front door outer handle does not lock the doors after rain and/or car washing, even though unlocking is possible. * Symptom 2: The touch sensor of the front door outer handle does not unlock the doors. * Cause 1 (for Symptom 1): Water may accumulate around the touch sensor in the outer handle, resulting in temporary lower sensitivity of the capacitive sensor. Also, if car wash foam gets inside the outer handle while washing the vehicle, the foam may disturb the touch sensor detection. Mazda is still working on a mass production change for this concern. * Cause 2 (for Symptom 2): Improper soldering in the production process may disturb the touch sensor detection. To eliminate this concern, the production process has been modified.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit that the air bag warning light turns on or repeats cycles of turning on and off with DTC B1126:13 and/or B1127:13 stored in memory. * B1126:13 - Driver-side side air bag module circuit open circuit or resistance high * B1127:13 - Passenger-side side air bag module circuit open circuit or resistance high This issue is caused by one or both of the following: * When the driver or passenger moves, a load is applied to the seat back and the load may cause displacement of the mating terminals in the side air bag module connector, resulting in insufficient contact and higher resistance. * The DTC detection level is too sensitive. To eliminate these concerns: * A modification of the harness is being developed. * The DTC detection level of the SAS control module has been optimized.

SummarySome vehicles may have rust on the contact parts between the clips (for attaching the roof molding) and the roof panel (ditches of the roof rail). This is caused by the gap between the roof molding attachment clips and the roof panel not being wide enough to allow paint to be appropriately applied to the roof panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the roof molding clip has been changed to enable paint application between the clip's rib and roof during the manufacturing process.

SummaryA tapping/rattling noise may be noticed from the valve train area. This condition may also occur if the engine is not allowed to warm up after multiple cold starts.

SummarySome customers may complain about the following symptoms occurring when driving without anything ahead (no metallic object reflects the radar wave such as a vehicle ahead, an oncoming vehicle, a road sign or a guard rail). *While using Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), the MRCC cancels by itself. NOTE: The customer may misinterpret MRCC cancellation as unintended braking. MRCC cancellation feels the same as the steering wheel cancel button being pressed or the brake pedal being tapped. *When MRCC is not in use, "Safety and Driver Support Systems Temporarily Disabled. Front Radar Obscured." message appears in the instrument cluster / "Remove dirt on the front radar sensor" message appears in the center display and related i-ACTIVSENSE functions stop working. This is caused by the front radar (under specific road conditions) detecting a false error as if the radar sensor is dirty, resulting in cancellation of the MRCC. (no metallic object reflects the radar wave such as a vehicle ahead, an oncoming vehicle, a road sign or a guard rail).

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit corrosion on the liftgate lock striker. This may be caused by water penetrating from micro cracks existing on the lock striker's coating surface that reacts with zinc contained in the undercoating and produces the corrosion. To eliminate this concern, a modified undercoating has been established for the liftgate lock striker.

SummarySome customers may complain that the clip on the rear end of the rear beltline molding is loose and the molding is slightly lifted up. Due to the poor shape of the clip claws, the fitting force to the door body may decrease while in use. To eliminate this concern, the clip has been enlarged in the horizontal direction to improve the fitting force against the door body.
