SummarySome vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) may exhibit the exterior light warning light/exterior light warning indication on while driving or when the ignition is turned on and DTC B10A3:86 (Error signal received from swivel actuator (LH)) stored in memory. NOTE: The combination light with AFS can be distinguished if it is equipped with the parking light/daytime running light (DRL) that illuminates while the ignition is turned on. This may be caused by the AFS Control Module detecting a false headlight malfunction. This concern will likely occur when the light returns to the center position after swiveling.To eliminate this concern, the control software of the AFS control module has been further modified. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

A clicking noise may be caused from the door connector sliding right and left, repeatedly connecting/half-connecting the connector tab, resulting in the stick-slip noise in the door side panel when opening/closing the front door. A squeaking or rubbing noise may be caused by the door harness interfering with the bottom edge of the door harness grommet when opening/closing the front door(s). To eliminate these concerns, a mass production change is under study.

SummaryImportant Note: This Service alert is intended as an early notification for upcoming software releases. Please refer to the latest dealer communications and MGSS for updated information. CX-90 MHEV Battery: Mazda is currently experiencing many backorders on MHEV Batteries (K6Y8-67-ZBXD). The issue causing most of the concerns is a cell imbalance inside the MHEV battery, which sets DTC P0DAB. The repair solution for this concern is to perform the software reflash and replace the battery as required. The cell balancing issue is resolved with a software reflash starting in November of 2023 production and this software update is part of recall 7024J - SAFETY RECALL - MULTIPLE ECU'S REPROGRAMMING. Ensure this recall is completed on every CX-90 that comes into your dealer to prevent possible MHEV cell imbalance. As a reminder, the MHEV battery is warrantied 8 years/80,000 miles to support our customers through the life of their vehicle. In terms of the MHEV Battery back-order status, as a result of significant efforts, including air-shipping hundreds of replacement batteries, we are projecting all current backorders will be filled by the last week of March 2025. CX-90 and CX-70 PHEV Electrical Leakage: Some customers have experienced an “electrical leakage fault” with DTC P0AA6 resulting in a no start condition after one key-cycle. Mazda has identified a PCM software programming issue that causes this DTC occurrence. Under current PCM logic, when P0AA6 detection occurs, the vehicle is prevented from restarting. The new software will be available in late March to reflash vehicles. This allows vehicles to be restarted if the fault is detected. Should the DTC persist, perform normal MGSS service procedures for electrical leakage diagnosis.

Due to heat or vibrations, the fastener fixing the front map light to the bracket may deform, making the joint loose. In such case, when the vehicle bounces, the bracket may oscillate and produce a rattling noise. To eliminate that concern, non-woven fabric will be attached to the headliner.

IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a vehicle equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch.
