SummarySome 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E/Escape plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), 2020-2022 Aviator PHEV, and 2022 Transit battery electric vehicle (BEV) vehicles may experience an illuminated powertrain malfunction (Wrench) indicator and/or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with secondary on board diagnostic control module (SOBDM) diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:49. This may be due to an internal SOBDM concern. To correct the concern, replace the SOBDM following Workshop Manual, Section 414-03B Removal and Installation, Secondary On-board Diagnostic Control Module. For claiming use base part # 10B689 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00.

SummarySome 2022 Aviator vehicles built on 19-Apr-2022 and through 11-Jul-2022 may exhibit the seat lumbar settings not populating in the center display screen. This may be due to software issue in the driver seat module (DSM) and/or passenger seat module (PSM) and/or incorrect seat switch part level. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition. Replacement or reprogramming of the DSM/PSM or seat switch replacement is not recommended in the interim. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit automatic transmission fluid (ATF) contamination in the engine cooling system due to the transmission cooler. If the cooling system becomes contaminated with ATF, the system must be flushed clear of the contamination after the source of the contamination has been repaired. It is generally not necessary to replace the following components due to ATF contamination in the cooling system: radiator, heater core, de-gas bottle, water pump, auxiliary water pump, coolant control valves, temperature sensors, thermostat, turbocharger, heat exchangers, tubes, gaskets/O-rings/seals (unless removed), or rubber coolant hoses (unless swollen).

SummarySome 2017-2022 Ford/Lincoln customers may experience a notification in the FordPassÃÂÃÂÃÂî/LincolnWayÃÂÃÂÃÂî app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. This occurs when the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SOC) drops below 50%. A warning may also set if the telematic control unit (TCU) has received an over the air update. The TCU powers down all communication when in this mode and app features are disabled. Manually start the vehicle to wake if from mode. More information is located in the app under: Account > Help > search 'Deep Sleep' in the entry box. If the condition remains, check the BCM 12v SOC. If the SOC does not change after charging the battery or after BMS reset is performed, continue with normal battery and/or BMS sensor diagnostics.

This may be due to low battery voltage and DTC thresholds being too low and not a fault in the door latch assembly. To correct the condition, reprogram and re-configure the the affected module using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming use causal part 54264A27 and applicable labor times found in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles may exhibit a rear differential that is venting rear axle fluid. This may result in a noise, smell, or leak noticed by the customer. Inspect the rear of the vehicle for signs of rear differential fluid venting in the right rear wheel well (oil staining in the wheel well liner and/or oil residue on the wheel end assembly below) or leaking from the rear differential. If signs of fluid leaks are found from any seals, repair as necessary. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-02. If no seal leaks are found but fluid is venting, drain the rear differential and re-fill with fresh rear differential fluid. Remove the vent tube and use compressed air to verify that the fluid vent tube is clear. Reinstall the vent tube. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.

Summary2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator and 2021-2022 F-150 hybrid vehicles equipped with a 10R80 MHT require the Transmission Strategy Download application in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to be run after certain transmission or module repairs. The Transmission Strategy Download routine is failing in FDRS levels 32.5.3 and 32.5.4. The FDRS development team is working to resolve this in a future release of FDRS. In the meantime, uninstall FDRS from the computer using the select all function to remove all data and recordings. Reinstall the older FDRS version 31.6.5 using this url - http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/IDS/FDRS/FDRS_31.6.5.exe Once 31.6.5 is installed, download and run the Transmission Strategy Download application.
