EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The contact owns a 2021 Kia Soul. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, he became aware that the headlamps were not functioning properly. The exterior lighting warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that a short in the electrical system resulted in exterior lights burning out and identified burned wiring. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 13,000.

My vehicle at three months had transmission failure like many 2021 Kia souls after the repair I began to experience, mini electrical issues and steering issues which are very common for this model year. Most recently I have taken it in for electrical issues. My rear brake lights are not working the fuses burn and the wiring has burned. in addition, there is a bulletin that Kia put out to their dealers asking to repair suspension and steering problems on hundreds of thousands of vehicles but this is not a recall yet my vehicle experience the same symptoms and my vehicle was not repaired siding I was too close to the end of my warranty please see the last page the Kia bulletin regarding popping in the steering the dealer installed parts at purchase of the vehicle in 2021 and please see the brake light repairs Kia motors forced me to sign a disclaimer when the when the transmission went out siding, I would never complain about the vehicle. After submitting a case to the department of Justice in California, Kia instantly reopened my case. The wiring repairs were recorded on my invoices as #Warranty repairs, but when I call Kia motors themselves, they do not show any warranty repairs performed on my vehicle. I don’t understand why they are hiding this information. Again, please see the Kia bulletin in my attachments they did not repair my vehicle based on the bulletin.

My daughter was taking my son (her little brother) to school on 2/6/2024 and as she starts uphill she starts noticing she was loosing her speed. They have to pull over on the side of a busy interstate to call me i get to them the car is running rough and sounded like it was missing or like the exhaust was muffled or clogged no check engine light was on but in have a diagnostic machine you plug in to the car and tells you what is exactly going without a check engine light having to be on an it said it was catalyst system.

There was a recall on my engine in 2019 two years prior to me owning the vehicle. 2/20/24 my check engine light came on and my vehicle would not accelerate over 40 mph. It left me stuck in my work parking lot. I had it towed to a mechanic and they said it was the knock sensor that I had updated 6/27/23. They told me I needed a motor replacement. The car was owned by three dealerships prior to me purchasing the vehicle but no repairs were done according to the consumer report. Nothing was notified to me that there was a recall or recall extension and needed to be addressed prior to 150k miles.

POWER TRAIN
The vehicle started with what felt like the car was going gently slower and faster as if it was almost out of fuel but had a full tank. This happened a couple times and I had the dealership check it out but they were unable to recreated the problem. This progress to a more obvious gear shifting harder or not when it should. There are times where when I try to accelerate, it shutters and doesn't want to go. I just recently had an issue after stopping for gas, where it lost power all together and started to almost redline. I pulled off to the side of the road and made several attempts to get going again and it would rev up but was not giving any power to the wheels. I shut off the vehicle and let it sit for a for moments and turned it back on and tried again and was able to get moving again. It didn't act up again until a few days later when I was heading to work. It would have this gentle feeling of having power and loosing power on the highway. When I got off the highway and started to go after I stopped it shuttered hard and I took my foot off the gas and it stopped and I was able to go. This is all the same characteristics of the vehicles with this transmission that do have a recall. This recall needs to be extended!!

My check engine light is on. I took to mechanic and the diagnostic code that came up as p1327:00. Piston Ring Noise Sensing System". And KIA issued a service bulletin [XXX] (Rev 1, [XXX]). I called the dealership Premier KIA in Kenner, LA. They refuse to even acknowledge or respond to have it checked out. I emailed owner and service manager and explained issue and informed them of everything and added that I did indeed have the software update done when the initial recall came out. ENGINE
Engine Light is flashing rapidly on my car, I am unable to drive the vehicle due to safety reasons and the vehicle started slowing down then the wheel locked up and the car cut off while driving a short distance. There is a knocking and ticking sound coming from the engine. Took the car to KIA dealership they said they couldnt fix the issue with the Engine and gave me no solution. I had to pay for a rental car and do ride shares (lyft and Uber) to get around because I was told by the Dealership Adviser that doesnt supply Loaner cars or put you in a rental until you car is serviced for the recall. My car was at the Kia Dealership for two weeks. When I picked up my car i was told by the Dealership Adviser that the Engine is going bad and it will not last very much longer in need to purchase a new one soon.

My problems started October of 2023 on an out of state trip for a memorial for my deceased cousin. I, along with my son and 3 grandchild were on our way to West Virginia when my car wouldn’t accelerate on the freeway. We got off the freeway and found the nearest Kia dealership. They provided me with a rental and told me I needed a catalytic converter that was clogged due to heavy oil consumption and my oil was low, even thought it was 3000 miles from the next scheduled change. I paid for the services and picked my car up approximately 6 days later. In December my cars engine light came on and I started having acceleration issues again. I took it to my local dealership and was told by the service advisor that it was covered under the recall to 150,000 miles for knocking and seizing and to continue driving it. They changed the oil and I went on my way. [XXX] my engine light came on again and I called and scheduled an appointment. I dropped it off on [XXX] After 2 1/2 weeks of calling daily with no return phone calls and paying out of pocket for a rental the dealership called and said it was the camshaft. I work part time for a auto wholesales parts company and the director, who has 40 years automotive experience told me the camshaft would have nothing to do with the oil consumption. After researching on internet and finding numerous videos stating the same, I told them change the oil and I would pick it up. The next day I went to pick it up and the battery was dead. The battery was just replaced in November. They jumped it twice, I expressed my uneasiness leaving with it but was told service is closed and the have no loaners. On the way out of the parking lot, a man that stated he was the sales manager was waving and yelling “bye, don’t come back, get out of my lot”. Needless to say I was appalled. Less than 15 minutes to home, the oil light came on and my engine started marking a horrible sound. I parked in my drive and the car would not restart. The contact owns a 2016 Kia Soul. The contact was parking the vehicle when it inadvertently accelerated resulting in crashing into a store. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal was depressed and that the accelerator pedal was not accidentally depressed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where the insurance company adjusted the vehicle's exterior damage. The vehicle was later towed to Caliber to assess internal damages. The air bags in the vehicle failed to deploy. There were no injuries and no property damage. A police report was filed. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.

UNKNOWN. On November 14, 2023, I received a notice from KIA about "AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL." The notice stated that I should not park my vehicle indoors or next to any other vehicle, as it could burst into flames. This is a dangerous situation that threatens both our personal safety and security. It is now 3 months later (2/19/2024), and my KIA dealer cannot repair my vehicle as they have not yet received the necessary parts required for the repair. This is outrageous and I would like this matter to be resolved, IMMEDIATELY!

When first taking off in it in the mornings, it jumps and goes very fast and reverse. There’s no control in it. I have no brakes they go all the way down so the car just like flies backwards when I’m backing out of my garage I don’t even even have to hold the gas it’s going it’s gonna fly out anyway and when it does that the brakes go completely completely to the floor.

I'm already aware of the recalls on alot of vehicles including my 2013 KIA SOUL and am aware of a judges ruling on this. How can KIA SOUL play God with peoples lives? I already filed a claim but still not not getting any help until the end of April. I'm a [XXX] woman who is at risk of getting hurt not to mention other people/and or other people close to my vehicle. This is just beyond wrong. I saved for 2 years to get a more dependable vehicles and now have to worry about an explosion. I already filed a claim but I'm scared. The radio has been funky since I got it last year. It's a used vehicle buy to me it looked new to me. I love it bur now afraid to even get in it but really don't have a choice since I'm [XXX] and don't have anyone else to get help or have another vehicle to use. I depend solely on myself. I need help with getting another vehicle until all of this mess is taken care of. I have gas gauge issues, revving up randomly, caution light staying on now and yesterday I had smoke coming out under the dash and then it just stopped while I was trying to pull off and call for help but it stopped so I came back home. The oil was changed right after I got it last year and I put new tires on it with the money I got from a junk yard in Johnson City that came to get my 98 Ford Escort that my church family helped for me after a very traumatic accident that killed my little senior rescue pommy, totaled my vehicle and I spent several days in ICU. I live on a very strict monthly income and this has caused more anxiety and panic issues that I can't even get under control with breathing exercises, journaling and taking my fur baby for walks and am back on my regular meds.
