Driving along with traffic, in the middle lane of a 5 lane highway, a red turtle light suddenly appeared on my dash and my car instantly starting losing speed and acceleration at a very quick rate. On the middle of the dash my screen read "Push Break and Push Button to Start" (which it usually says when I get into my car to start it, but my car was still on and running). I quickly put my hazards on and was able to safely, with very little time, pull off the road to the shoulder as fast as I could. I put my car in park and then turned it off after examining the dash to see if any other lights were on. Nothing new had appeared and the turtle light was gone. I started my car up again, went to put it in Drive, but I could not get the vehicle out of Park. My shifter would not budge. Several attempts turning the vehicle off and back on and still could not get the vehicle out of park. All the usual lights turned on, the radio was on and working as usual. At this time, I did notice that the engine light on the dash was now lit up, along with a red battery light. A tow truck was called to come and tow the vehicle to the car dealer I leased it from. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in any vehicle, especially this new one. I just got this brand new '24 Jeep Wrangler 4xE in May 2024.

On two separate occasions while driving my vehicle, I lost the ability to accelerate although my car still appeared to be on and functioning normally. This resulted in me needing to pull over to a complete stop on the highway as the accelerator was completely ineffective and I continued to decelerate to unsafe highway speeds. I had to turn the jeep off and then back on to get it to work normally again. I contacted the dealership regarding this matter and they advised they did an “update” on the vehicle on 6/3/24.

My 2024 Jeep with low mileage has had 5 issues of the vehicle shutting off while driving and not wanting to start after the unexpected shutdown. The dealership is telling me there is no issue. Given the low mileage and the fact that it has happened 5 times, I'm scared to drive it. It's a huge safety issue. Twice, it happened while driving in traffic, and I was not able to restart the vehicle. I'm lucky I wasn't rear-ended. If this engine stop happens while on the highway, it could be fatal.

I picked up my new wrangler from the dealer on Friday [XXX]. On Saturday [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] on my way to Amherst, MA. Since I was on the highway, I was traveling between 65-75 mph. About 30 minutes into the trip the vehicle began to jerk and the engine was sputtering. When pushing on the gas pedal the car would jerk and lose any acceleration. I began to slow down as the car jerked and lost all acceleration. I had to pull over on the busy highway as the car could not maintain speed over 30 mph. I luckily was about two miles from a rest area and I drove in the shoulder and exited. The check engine light was on and the engine was making a very loud noise and seemed to be stuck in a high gear. Once we were safely in the parking area, I turned off the engine and the vehicle was towed to a dealer in Albany NY. The car remained at the dealer and I picked it up on Wednesday [XXX]. The tech at the dealer said they applied a bunch of software updates, road tested it and everything seemed good. I picked up the car on Wednesday [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] after driving roughly 30 miles in total, the vehicle did the same thing while driving. This time I was in a residential area. I had to turn around and lump to park the car in my parents driveway. The car was subsequently towed back to the repair shop on Friday [XXX]. I am currently awaiting an update on status.

I was driving the car when I believe it was a red wrench w/ a bolt appeared on the dashboard. The car slipped out of gear and stopped running. This happened three while driving it which is a major safety issue. I was headed to the highway and decided to return home. I called the dealership and made a service appt for 6/27/24. A quick google search told me A LOT of people are having this issue and dealerships do not know how to solve it. I took the vehicle in for a diagnostic test which came up clean. The dealer said since it no error codes came up there wasn't anything they could do. Since that time it has not happened again, but I am concerned it will. I don't drive the car often (it's an extra car in the family) - it only has 330 miles on it (purchased in April of 2024)

I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xE. On November 13, 2023, I was at making a turn and came to a stop and then when I went to accelerate it wouldn't move and gear shifter was flashing for park. So, I moved it to park at the same time had a service electrical system warning with a picture of the charging port. I was not able to drive and was now locked in park. I had to open the panel near the shifter to pull the release to get it to roll. Unfortunately, you must hold the pull strap the whole time while police officers were attempting to push me out of the road. I also had no power steering and was almost impossible to get the steering wheel to move. I had to use all my force with one hand because other was holding the release strap. After getting to the side of the road the vehicle finally shut off completely. It then finally started, and I took it straight to the dealership. I also I got an email from Jeep for triggered alerts, and it was for Traction Battery Cut-off state. This was also my cutoff date for Jeep connect/Sirius XM for the trial from when I purchased the 2024 Wrangler Sahara 4xe. People in the 4xe forum have said this is a time it has happened to them before too. Was a scary situation because I was without power in the middle of the road and not able to move on my own. Almost was rear ended like 10 times. The dealership stated they couldn’t replicate and did something with the software. But when asking the lady at the dealership about all the things I have seen on the forum and if this was happening to others, she stated you can’t trust those forums. I was very taken back and felt she knew more than she would share with me. I then saw this was a recall for prior years and mine was a brand new 2024 at the time. I am constantly worried it will happen again and if it was anyone else in my family it could have been much worse. Now seeing an article about this being investigated by NHTSA, I felt the need to report what happen to me prior.

The red wrench light came on saying that the electrical system needed to be serviced. We took it to our Jeep dealer which we bought it from and they checked the problem and said there's an issue with it that there is no repair for it at the moment and that we should not drive on electrical if at all possible only on gas because it's a hybrid.

The first time this happened I was in Maryland, while reversing out of a parking spot onto [XXX] , the Jeep just shut off, just before that every light on the panel went off and the ABS, Powertrain just to name a few failed. I was stuck 3/4 out of the spot when the shutdown occurred, the steering wheel locked, gear shift wouldn’t move and when I tried to press the brake it wouldn’t go down. I had to hit the ignition to reset it while out in oncoming traffic, after 2 attempts, I was able to get it started and shift into park, then drive and then pull in. During this time the check engine light was on. When I returned to NH I took it to the dealership ( Bonneville & son) they had it for nearly 2 weeks, determined it was the alternator output. They ordered a new one but due to a sku error in jeeps system, it was the wrong part, so they had it an additional 4 days. Today [XXX], I was pulling Symmes Dr to park at the park and ride in Londonderry. While going around a curve, the jeep did the same thing and just shut off at 32mph. Steering wheel locked up, everything went dark on all screens, I could not brake or accelerate. There was no space on the side of the road, there was a line of 3 cars on the opposite lane and there was a tractor trailer in my rearview mirror shuttering. He was able to stop at an angle but was stopped less than 4 feet from my rear bumper. When I saw it in the mirror, I thought that was it. I was almost killed today due to jeeps complacency. We purchased the vehicle on March 23, 2024. A few days later, a couple of dozen miles on it, the vehicle started to constantly show the following message on the dashboard 'Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System'. We brought it to the dealership based on their earlies availability on April 17, 2024. They told us there's nothing wrong with the vehicle and it's safe to park inside our garage and we needed to wait for the 'harness' to arrive and be replaced. Finally on May 10th, 2024 the harness arrived and we brought the vehicle back to the dealership to perform the replacement. The vehicle has been in that dealership ever since and this past tuesday, June 18th, 2024 we were informed that the problem is now worse after attempting to repair it for about 40 days and that Jeep/Stellantis adviced the dealership to park the vehicle outside as it's not safe to park it inside anymore. Very scary for a brand new car! Please see attached pictures documenting the situation. The manufacturer refuses to apply the lemon law even though it has been well over 30 days and it hasn't been repaired.

I was making a right turn at approximately 20mph and the car stalled and gas pedal felt empty. I got the car into park. Then I tried to restart the vehicle in order to get it out of the road - I could not get into neutral to push out of the road. It stalled in the middle of the road which is extremely scary. It was approximately 4:20pm. I tried to restart to get into esave but it didn't start. The fuse box kept making clicking noises. It read "service charging system" and the check engine light came on. This problem is extremely.

HVAC DEFOGGER RECALL HAS NEVER BEEN REPAIRED! air flow would not clear visibility when driving there is a recall on hvac defogger system and also an update within the vehicle itself computer system on my vehicle. I was researching this recall when I accidentally tapped onto this issue being completed while i was on credit karma, accidental tapping thst I’d done this repair when I had not! I believe by me doing this it took my personal vehicle off the list …I was trying to research everything about this recall and I hit that as repaired by accident when I never had this issue repaired! I was driving when I needed this hvac defogger to work, in south Texas. The HVAC DEFOGGER SYSTEM did not work at all! I was close to 3 accidents and I drove over a curb due to zero visibility at that time!

The vehicle is supposed to have an off board power inverter (MOPAR PART 68522775AD or 68522775AB), and is supposed to work with all models of the 4XE wrangler. My Power port does not work and JEEP has been unhelpful in getting it replaced. My case number with FCA is 89963711.

I was driving and more then 10 times my car has stalled in the middle of the street while driving and the gear “D” began blinking and note has displayed on the screen saying “shift to P then to gear” and said “check transmission” after shifting to park, the car locked up and I then had to shut off the car, open the door and then turn the car back on to get it to drive again. This happened multiple times and happens every time the vehicle come to a stop at a red light or stop sign. I took the vehicle to the dealership and explained the problem and they placed me in a loaner car for a day or 2. When I was called to come the car everything seemed fine. They said the car “needed to be updated” I drove off and it was okay that afternoon and had no begun to stall and shut off in the street once again.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
