I had brought my car in because it feels like the antilock brakes kick in on uneven surfaces. I was told there is no issue. This happens again 2 days ago. I have had it happen where I almost hit the person in front of me, the car will not stop. Dry roads. It’s on bumpy roads, more often is a slight downhill. No lights on dash for antilock brakes coming on.

- #11699452November 14, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
A dangerous and unpredictable braking issue has plagued my brand-new SUV (under 5,000 miles). On multiple occasions, the brakes have engaged suddenly and without warning while driving, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly in the middle of the road. This creates a hazardous situation with the potential for rear-end collisions, putting my family at risk and causing back pain to my passengers. The same problem also occurs when parking. The dealership requires a five-day service appointment, but the lack of any pre-warning lamps or indicators makes this issue especially concerning.

This report describes a catastrophic engine failure, framing the event in the context of the widespread Hyundai GDI engine oil consumption issue and its impact on oil-dependent systems like the CVVT/OCV. Description of Incident @ 148,000 miles my vehicle oil was changed. On May 15, 2025, @ 151,000 miles my 2020 Hyundai Palisade was serviced at Patterson Hyundai Tyler (3120 S SW Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701) for the replacement of the oil intake valve (OCV/CVVT solenoid). With reports of oil consumption. This type of service is often necessitated by sludge or contamination from excessive oil consumption clogging the valve screens and restricting oil flow to the VVT system. Shortly after this service, on 05/22/25, the engine experienced a catastrophic failure. There was an immediate and loud metallic grinding noise (consistent with severe internal bearing/connecting rod damage), followed by complete loss of engine power and instantaneous stalling. The failure is assessed to be a result of the underlying GDI defect related to excessive oil consumption, which can lead to internal engine starvation. This starvation may have been triggered or exacerbated by a failure within the oil circulation path (potentially involving the recently serviced OCV or adjacent components). The vehicle is part of the population of Hyundai GDI engines known for issues where low oil levels—due to consumption—or contamination lead to bearing and connecting rod failure. The vehicle has all maintence records and can provide them. The vehicle is currently located at Greenville Hyundai at 5395 I-30 Frontage Rd, Greenville, TX 75402 and is available for inspection upon request. Service Manager is Isaac.

My son and I were driving down the interstate and all of a sudden we heard a loud boom. It felt like something hit the vehicle, but it was more like an explosion. I thought possibly a rock or something hit the back of my car, but that didn’t make any sense. There were no vehicles or bridges around us. I was two minutes from home so I drove home and when I pulled in the driveway, I heard a cracking noise. When I parked, we got out to investigate and determined that the cracking was coming from the moon roof. It was actively cracking. This is exactly what has happened to Palisades in the past with the exploding sunroof/moonroof.

Please remove the alert “Consider a break”. This alert is very annoying and distracting. My opinion it does nothing for the safety of the vehicle. At the time I purchased the vehicle I was not advised about the alert. Had I known prior to purchase, I would have passed on the purchase. Please do something to remove or delete the aforementioned alert.

1. The 2nd row powered seats do not (or the system failed) have a force feedback sensor or anyway to tell if something or someone is in the way from it moving the seat back. 2. If someone is climbing into the 3rd row seat and the button to move a 2nd row seat is pressed the person can be crushed, potentially pinning them in place and or choking their neck 3. The incident happened at a dealership with a at the time unsold car that had just arrived. I was personally able to reproduce the problem by pressing the button on the seat that moves it back into place while I was sitting behind it, the seat attempted to recline back pinning me in place till I pressed the button again. 4. This is the second time I’ve had this incident. I was driving in the middle of nowhere Texas, no other cars or pedestrians were present. There were no overpasses or construction and out of nowhere. My sunroof exploded at 50 miles an hour. The weather was fair around 60°. This being the second time it had happened. I knew it was a sunroof and did not open the cover to inspect. I pulled over, got out of my car and looked and saw that my sunroof had blown out and upwards. The first time this happened, it was covered with minimal effort. Now that this has happened a second time with the car less than two years old I have to wait for the manufacturer to confirm it will be covered again.

My sunroof was working perfectly fine a month ago. I opened it while i was driving to get some air 10/28/2025 and heard a cracking noise. I immediately stopped it. The glass was off the track and it would not close. It only opens a little then stops. Took it to Hyundai dealership and they said in their report"the tracks are cracked, glass came off the track and tracks are warped." This is going to cost me 3k and this was clearly a malfunction of the vehicle!!

Subject: Stop-Sale Violation — Hyundai Palisade Recall #25V607000 I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade (VIN [XXX], from Napleton Palatine Hyundai, Illinois. The dealer completed the sale even though the vehicle was under an active stop-sale order related to Recall #25V607000 / Campaign 283 (Seat Belt Buckle). The recall remedy is not yet available, and the dealership has refused to release the vehicle after purchase. This situation leaves the consumer paying for a loan and insurance without possession of the vehicle and represents a potential stop-sale violation under 49 U.S.C. §30120(i). Please investigate this case and confirm whether the dealership violated federal recall and consumer protection requirements. I was driving my 2023 Hyundai Palisade at 75 mph on I25 in Northern Colorado when I heard a terribly loud noise like an explosion above my head. I jerked but kept control of the car. My immediate thought was that something dropped on my roof but I wasn't under an overpass. Frantically looking in all directions, I saw something dark flying in the air towards the side of the road. At the same time, motorcycles traveling behind me were moving out of my lane. I pulled over and found my Sunroof had instantaneously exploded outwards. There were bits of glass everywhere. It was certainly a startling driver safety issue that caused me to jerk the wheel. At highway speeds, it is fortunate that I didn't lose control or roll my vehicle. If the inside sunroof cover had been open as it is most of the time, bits of glass would have exploded all over the inside of the car showering the driver and passengers, including their faces and eyes. It was a terribly dangerous situation. I immediately reported it to my dealer who would not even look at the car. The dealer said they don't deal with glass. They recommended a glass installer, Anders Glass. Anders didn't deal with sunroofs. They sent me to NOVUS Glass who inspected, sealed up, then ordered and replaced the unit with a used sunroof. The problem couldn't be reproduced because the sunroof was shattered. There are no glass warning lights. No other warning lights, messages or symptoms appeared before or after the sunroof spontaneously exploded outward.

When turning the wheel at low speeds the steering wheel suddenly hits something like a steel wall and sometimes huts the wrist of the driver. it feels like a piece of steel blocking the rotation of the steering wheel. This happens now on a regular basis. Dealership can't remedy the situation and refuses to contact corporate technical dept for a remedy.

Issues began in November of 2024 Began with a a oil consumption test and failed. Submitted for a new engine due to high oil consumption 3 quarts in 1,000 miles. Waited 6 months for a new engine to be available. July 2025 noted oil leaking brought in for repair and stated it was a boot joint that was leaking. Multiple return trips to repair since oil was still leaking. Check Engine light came on in , September and a faulty sensor in engine was noted (for mixing air and gas?), replaced sensor. Oil still continues to leak and after insisting they take the entire engine out to figure out where it was coming from a leaking faulty oil plug was noted on the rear side of the engine.

The engine failed due to oil consumption. The engine burns to much oil. It burns more oil than it holds during normal intervals between changes. It also did NOT give any oil lights or engine lights on the dash (not one indicator came on). When we took it in the service advisor told us the computer had indicated a problem, but that was for the technician.

I was driving down a 4 lane highway at 70mph with no landscaping, cars or trucks around me what so ever and my sunroof imploded on me. Luckily my sunshade was closed. The glass was domed outwards like pressure from inside the cabin pushed it out and shattered into tiny pieces. Hyundai is aware of this issue but is not willing to cover it under warranty. My vehicle isn't even 3 years old and has less than 30,000 miles on it. I bought this vehicle due to all the great reviews about the warranty, well now that I need something fixed under warranty, they are not willing to help me out.
