- #11746193June 24, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Randomly but frequently, my car would turn off when coming to a stop and with the auto shut off - but the full car would turn off and to move, I would need to press the ignition to turn back on and drive. This even occurred while accelerating onto a highway. I took this to the shop and after 6 months of back and forth and paying for fuel injectors they 'repaired' it. Now, my car felt heavy with the auto turn off but the vehicle stayed on. The next day, while trying to accelerate up a hill on a highway, the RPM would rev but the car would not shift and accelerate. Additionally, I am getting 'parking sensor error or blockage' but they lines and sensors are all working.

My Hyundai Palisade is subject to Recall 283 (NHTSA Recall 25V607000) involving the seat belt system. The affected seat belt has exhibited sticking and binding issues. On at least one occasion, the belt became so tangled and stuck that I had to use pliers to free it. Children regularly use this seating position. I have contacted my Hyundai dealership, Circle Hyundai in Shrewsbury N.J., approximately 4-5 times over the past several months seeking recall repairs. Each time I was advised that parts were unavailable and that the dealership was waiting for Hyundai to supply the recall remedy. I also submitted an online service inquiry and did not receive a response. I am concerned that a known safety defect exists, the seat belt is exhibiting operational problems, and no repair has been made available despite repeated requests for service. I am submitting this complaint due to both the seat belt malfunction and the ongoing inability to obtain the recall repair.

This is in relation to the recall 25V607000 issued September 19, 2025. My and my children's safety has been put at risk by Hyundai's failure to obtain replacement parts to fix this recall. They have no date expected for the requisite parts, and I am driving with the anxiety that the seatbelts could malfunction at any time and endanger me and my family.

1) Front collision sign keep coming up. 2) Cruise control does not function. Dealer claims it's wear and tear and maybe due to bumper loose. Claims maybe if someone backed up into our bumper making it loose. 3) Display on the front windshield is distorted, which is also camera related. 4) Paint on fender is peeling and they call that also wear and tear. Picture attached showing paint coming off Overall Hyundai palisade claims nothing is part of warranty. Everything they are claiming as wear and tear. It's not even 5 years since I bought this car and nothing is covered under warranty.

We are currently on a road trip. Fortunately we were in a 55mph zone and not going faster. While driving on the highway, the hood released from the latch and popped open. Fortunately the secondary latch caught it and we were able to pull over safely. I can’t imagine if we were going faster if the secondary latch would’ve withheld it. Very scary incident

On XXX I took my vehicle to Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie because my engine light was on. That same day the Service Adviser (Edson XXX) informed me that the engine was burning oil excessively. They performed an oil change and replaced engine oil gasket and asked me to return after driving 1000 miles. Mileage at the time was 103,380. I return on XXX, mileage was 104,580. [XXX] informed me that vehicle failed oil consumption test. He submitted request for engine replacement. On 11/25/2025 I returned to dealer because engine light came on again, and still no approval for engine replacement. I was informed that Hyundai approved combustion chamber cleaning. The service was complete four days later. However, it did not fix the problem. The engine excessive oil burn still happens as of this report. - #11744645June 16, 2026TIRES
Tire size: 245/50R20 102V. All four original equipment tires (Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 H452) developed sidewall failures at approximately 29,000-30,000 miles of normal driving. All four tires showed identical diagonal stress cracking across the upper sidewall, consistent with sidewall flex fatigue. One tire showed visible outward bulging/deformation of the sidewall, indicating internal structural separation. Two tires had areas of outer sidewall rubber torn away with internal cord material exposed. No warning light appeared prior to discovering the damage upon visual inspection. This presented a serious safety risk, as a sidewall in this condition can rupture suddenly at highway speed, causing sudden air loss and potential loss of vehicle control. The vehicle was used for daily driving, including with family passengers, before the damage was found. The tires were inspected and replaced by an independent tire retailer, who confirmed all four required replacement. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. This same tire model was previously subject to an NHTSA recall (Campaign 15T024) for sidewall cracking on a different size/application, and there is a documented pattern of similar consumer complaints describing sidewall cracking and failure on this tire line, including on other Hyundai models. These were original equipment tires with no known prior impact, collision, or unusual road event before the damage was discovered.

XXX - approx 9:00pm - departed Copper and Sage restaurant enroute to the WigWam. After about 1/2 mile at 30-35mph, I slowed down to make a right turn. After completing the turn I pressed the accelerator to continue and the Palisade had absolutely no power. I pressed the pedal to the floor with no success. I was finally forced to pull over and stop the vehicle and place it in park. After doing so, the Palisade was able to return to operation with the pedal and for fear of another incident we drove home. 2nd Incident - 2 Mar 2026 - approx 1200pm. We were traveling west on XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] and began the ascent through the mountains going west towards XXX. After experiencing a steady grade upward approximately 6-7% at speed of 55-60mph, I used the hand shift paddle to downshift one gear to assist in the upward climb. Upon doing so, the Palisade once again died with no power at all. I pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor with no success of power. This incident could have been devastating as we were in the far left lane with many other vehicles behind us. I had no place to pull over to the left so I began to make my way to the right shoulder over 3 lanes very slowly under only previous velocity motion. We narrowly avoided being hit from behind numerous times and finally made it over to the right shoulder. After finally stopping the Palisade, I put the vehicle in park and it returned to operation with the pedal once again. We then carefully pulled out off the shoulder and the Palisade operated normally until we arrived at our destination. - #11744388June 16, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
It appears there is an ongoing issue with the Driver's Assistance. More specifically with automatic braking regarding forward collision. On 4 separate occasions, the vehicle has gone haywire with several alarms and icons going off at once and then sudden braking in the middle of the road before I have even realized what is going on. The issue is the car decided it was time to slam on the brakes right in the middle of the road while I was driving so it was very jarring. I have brought the vehicle to the dealership once and they kept it for 2 days to inspect the problem and could "not reproduce the problem". So they returned the vehicle to me. However, the issue occurred 3 more times after they returned it to me within 3 wks. So, I am dropping it off again for them to keep until they locate the problem now that I believe I have narrowed it down to the Driver's Assistance and forward collision issue. When I disable the driver's assistance/forward collision toggle, there "appears" to solve the issue. I have not had the same problem when that specific toggle is off as of yet. There have been no inspections from a manufacturer rep, police or insurance rep. There were a ton of warning lamps at one time just prior to the automatic braking, some regarding power train, battery, and several others. I have photos.

2020 Hyundai Palisade with Lambda II 3.8L GDI V6 (G6DJ) engine experienced complete engine failure due to oil starvation from excessive oil consumption through piston ring bypass. No oil warning light illuminated prior to failure. Engine consumed oil silently between service intervals until catastrophic failure. Vehicle became undriveable. HMA issued TSB 21-EM-003H addressing oil consumption in other Hyundai engine variants but explicitly excluded the Lambda II V6 (G6DJ) from the bulletin's scope despite the same piston ring bypass defect being present. HMA subsequently issued Campaign 9C9 referencing Palisade oil consumption but with no defined remedy and inadequate owner notification. Vehicle was purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned Hyundai. At time of CPO sale, HMA had documented knowledge of the Lambda II oil consumption defect. HMA denied warranty coverage for engine replacement, estimated at $12,000. HMA's own TSB establishes 1 quart per 1,000 miles as the threshold for defective consumption. Independent engineering analysis confirms the Lambda II G6DJ piston ring geometry produces oil bypass consistent with that defect threshold. Engine is available for inspection upon request. Defect was confirmed by HMA-authorized dealership oil consumption test. No warning lamps appeared prior to failure. This defect is believed to affect a large number of Lambda II-equipped vehicles sold in the [XXX]. Prior federal class action litigation (XXX v. Hyundai Motor America, C.D. Cal.) documented HMA's corporate knowledge of the Lambda II oil consumption defect prior to the date of this vehicle's CPO sale. - #11744336June 15, 2026STEERING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While driving the 2024 Hyundai Palisade, the steering wheel suddenly locks up, resulting in an immediate loss of steering control creating an immediate safety hazard. The steering wheel becomes completely rigid, making it impossible to turn left or right. This condition feels as though the power steering system has completely stopped working. Simultaneously, multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard. To avoid an accident, the driver must physically muscle the rigid steering wheel to force the vehicle onto the right-side shoulder of the road. Once safely stopped, turning the engine completely off and restarting it seems to temporarily resolve the problem. After the re-start, the warning lights disappear, and the steering wheel operates normally again. This problem (loss of steering wheel control) has occurred 5 times randomly and intermittently (each time while driving). The first 2 times this problem occurred was in September 2024 and it was taken to a Hyundai dealership and the problem was reported (repair #1 dated 9/30/2024, mileage 13603). Next, the vehicle was in the dealership for repair of the Forward Collison Light / Low Battery (repair #2 dated 11/22/2024, mileage 14899). Next, the vehicle was in the dealership for replacement of the Front Radar Sensor (repair #3 dated 12/05/2024, mileage 15353). Next the vehicle's steering wheel locked up on 9/18/2025, mileage 24370 (3rd time). Next the vehicle's steering wheel locked up on 5/24/2026, mileage 31714 (4th time). Next the vehicle was in the dealership for regular maintenance and to investigate the steering wheel lock up that occurred on 5/24/2026 (repair #4 dated 5/27/2026, mileage 31798). Next the vehicle's steering wheel locked up on 6/04/026, mileage 31946 (5th time). Next the vehicle was in the dealership to replace the steering column control module or power pack electric (repair #5 dated 6/04/2026, mileage 31985).

Safety-Critical Shifter System Malfunction - I am experiencing a recurring and serious shift system defect with my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The issue first occurred within the first 500 miles of ownership, shortly after purchasing the vehicle new. At that time, the vehicle required diagnosis and repair by the dealership and remained out of service for nearly one month. Despite that repair, the same or a very similar issue has now returned. The vehicle displays a "Shifter System Malfunction – Service Immediately" warning and does not allow me to change gears while the vehicle is running. The gear selector becomes unresponsive, and the only way to restore functionality is to shut the vehicle off and restart it. After restarting, the vehicle often engages with a loud thud/clunk and significant vibration that can be felt throughout the vehicle. This creates serious concerns about the safety, reliability, and overall integrity of the drivetrain and shift-by-wire system.

I was a making a left hand turn at a stoplight. The light turned yellow, and as I was in the intersection, I pressed the gas pedal to complete the turn. The pedal went to the floor, but the car did not accelerate. It barely rolled forward. I had to slam on the brake so I would not roll into the intersection, and turn. I reeased the pedal, and tried again, and the vehicle did accelerate. This failure has happened 4 times to me. I have also had the experience with making a right-hand turn from a stop. Again, when depressing the accelerator, the engine did not go. In one case it was delayed, then sped up very quickly. I has been to the dealer twice, once for 2 days, and once for 9 days. They have been unable to find anything wrong. I was able to demonstrate the problem with a technician in the vehicle, but he really could not see me depressing the gas, so was really unable to experience that I had a problem, even though I verbally mentioned the incident. The car at the time had less than 500 miles on it. To summarize. I have experienced left-hand turn problems 4 times, and right hand problems twice., or a total of 6 times.
