ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
The contact owns a 2018 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that the instrument cluster speedometer and gauges were inoperable during cold temperatures. On several occasions, the instrument cluster screen was flickering. The contact had to bang on the dashboard for it to turn the instrument panel on. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
A recall was issued in 2023 for a problem with the fuel pump which can cause a serious accident in the event of a failure. I've received two notices for the recall, however the dealer where I purchased the vehicle has not yet been able to obtain the parts from the manufacturer. I'm very concerned because of the potential consequences of failure of the fuel pump and would like to have the recall remedied as soon as possible.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic signal, he heard an abnormal popping sound from the rear of the vehicle. The contact turned and looked and observed that the entire rear windshield had shattered. The contact stated that there were only a few small pieces of the windshield left in the frame. The contact stated that he had engaged the rear window defroster to clear condensation on it and that the rear defroster was still engaged when the windshield shattered. The contact was on his way to work and stated that there was no other driver at the traffic signal near his vehicle. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or glass repair shop. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Steering. Risk of crashing. Lundgrens Honda of Greenfield, MA. Lundgrens diagnosed and replaced. Steering started creaking in May 2024 slowly got worse to a popping. Took to Lundgrens, they diagnosed and replaced. $1925.44. Diagnosed steering gear assembly worn out at coupler connecting to inner shaft and steering gear box replaced.

The instrument cluster is glitching and it does not display the amount of fuel in the tank, the mileage/odometer reading that is necessary to know when we are low on fuel. The digital display is blank and people that have same issue state that the soldering done on the cluster was manufactured improperly causing the display to short out.

I bought this car at 2016 4 months later I'm hearing metal to metal noise at driver side wheel Then I took it to the dealer they said is the seat belt making that noise. I ask, then are you sure not from the driver side wheel. They no it's from the seat belt. Then I. Said ok but the sound through the year it becomes loader Then I look online for most common problems on honda hrv. Then I found about 5 or 6 forum for honda hrv bad bearing on front driver side. 2020 I took it back to the dealer and they said no its not the bearing is the seatbelt that there finding again second tome around. Then I took it to a tire shop. They said my bearing was bad and it's been like that for a long time they said. They said the honda dealer should at list found this problem on the second time I complain. I said no,they still said is the seat belt. The tire shop said I have to change the bearing because is worn out so bad that they don't recommend me to drive it. So I have them change it. Do I have a reason to complain at honda company about my problem

The rear window exploded while parked at a school. I put on the rear defrost while driving to the school and when I parked and shut off the car, that's when we heard the explosion. There was no external impact to the car. I've seen several reports of other 2023 HRV owners with the same problem. The car has not been inspected, but I called my Honda Service Center and they referred me to Car Tech who repairs the windshields. The representative was unable to tell me if Honda would cover the repair. There were no warning lamps, messages or other alert to a potential problem.

All of a sudden I heard an acceleration noise and my car was moving forward. I could not react as I did not understand what was happening. I hit a cement wall.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The instrument panel suddenly went out without warning while driving for no known reason. I was unaware of my speed, gas gauge, oil level, etc. and had to return home. I took it to a mechanic who called the dealership. They said it would be $1700 just for the replacement instrument panel. A quick internet search shows that this is common among Honda HRVs and other similar models. Apparently the solder Honda uses in the factory is not holding up and causing electronic connections to fail. I should not have to pay $1700 plus labor to have a connection resoldered. If they replace it with a "new" instrument panel that will undoubtedly have the same original soldering job, it's just going to come loose again.

Honda Sensing dash warning lights come on and off during driving which can create an unsafe situation. The Honda Sensing dash warning lights were for Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, and Auto High-Beam Problem. Per Galpin Honda, the Honda Sensing camera failed and needs to be replaced.

The odometer cluster began flickering and froze up disallowing driver the ability to view mileage, fuel level, and other maintenance information. The safety of all involved will be severely impacted if car runs out of gas during trip. The problem is cited in a number of online posts related to this make and model. The problem is too expensive to diagnose and or repair at a dealership. The problem increases with outside environmental temperature changes. cluster works occasionally if driver taps odometer cluster screen. One online post traces the problem to a soldering failure inside the cluster.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The steering system appears to have malfunctioned. It is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I felt slight, momentary resistance when turning the steering wheel, mainly to the right. The resistance would then suddenly disappear and the steering wheel then lurched forward up to about 1" in the direction that I was turning the steering wheel, causing a bit of oversteer. I fear that this problem could develop into a full failure of the steering system while driving. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet, although I have a service appointment scheduled with a dealer to discuss and investigate this problem. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I was driving down [XXX] towards Springdale, AR on [XXX] at approximately [XXX]. I was in the middle lane with no cars near me. I didn't go under any bypasses. My sunroof exploded. I did not hit a rock nothing hit me it just imploded. I have already called Honda who said they will do nothing about it. It's a 2023 Honda HRV with 17,000 miles on it. This is not wear and tear.
