The audio system including the computer screen/monitor which controls the CarPlay, am/fm radio, Bluetooth connection, etc. malfunctioned while driving on the highway. It was stuck on AM radio at a very high volume for an unusually long period of time (15 minutes +approximately) The audio system sound and the entire system was unresponsive to attempts to power off, turn down volume and remained frozen even after I pulled over and powered off the vehicle engine ( I waited about 5 Minutes and then turned the car back on). This could present safety issues for drivers and passengers. The overwhelming loud chaotic noise remained static .

While driving my 2019 Honda CR‑V at about 35 mph during night on a local road with no cars or obstacles in front of me, the vehicle suddenly applied the brakes hard by itself. There were no warning lights or messages other than the collision warning, and I did not touch the brake pedal. The sudden braking almost caused the car behind me to rear‑end me. This has happened several times in similar conditions when the Collision Mitigation Braking System / Honda Sensing was on.

I was driving this vehicle (2020 Honda CRV hybrid touring) and the brakes became very hard to stop. It was like standard braking without power assist and required great effort to stop the vehicle. Many warnings appeared on the dash including: 1. Brake system problem 2. Electric parking brake problem 3. Brake hold system problem 4. Hill start assist problem 5. Collision mitigation system problem 6. Vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem 7. Road departure mitigation problem 8. Adaptive cruise control problem The emergency brake light is on and won't go away. Sometimes when you start it, the warnings will clear after pressing the "!" button. Other times they won't clear making it not driveable because of the hard braking. I took it to First Class Halt and they found some code they had never seen. They cleared the code and 2 days later it started up with the same thing. I took it to Hendrick Honda and they also just cleared a code. A few days later it started all over making the car undriveable at least in a safe manner with full control over the brakes. It seems that neither an independent shop nor a Honda dealership can correct this dangerous problem.

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, I took my 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid to the dealership for a routine oil change. The service team told me that all systems showed the vehicle was in good condition. They advised me to return for my next oil change and regular maintenance. I did not drive anywhere on Thursday, November 27, which was Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 28, while driving to work on the highway, the engine warning light turned on and my car began to slow down. Pressing the accelerator did not help—the vehicle would not speed up and lost power while I was driving on the highway. This was a very stressful and unsafe situation. I had to pull over onto the shoulder with a line of cars behind me. My car was towed to the dealership. The dealership said they could not find anything wrong with it. However, I experienced a clear and serious problem. Not only did I miss work, but I also had to pay $238.95 for the towing service. After researching, I found there was a recall issued on December 18, 2023, for a fuel pump failure that can cause the engine to stall while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. However, this recall did not include the 2022 model year, which is the year of my vehicle. The recall describes exactly what happened to me. Honda should include the 2022 CR-V Hybrid in the recall and therefore; replace the fuel pump module at no cost to help ensure everyone’s safety.

Dear NHTSA, There needs to be an immediate recall on this (VIN#: [XXX] ) 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid Motor Nightmare. Despite proper maintenance and care, the vehicle has experienced persistent problems that stem from known defects. The engine has a fatal flaw with the head gasket. The high compression turbo engine stretches the head bolts, lifts the cylinder head just enough to blow the gasket causing coolant to leak into the cylinders and mix with the oil and destroys the bearings. Along with oil dilution where gas washes pass the piston rings. This is a widespread problem affecting this model as indicated by the numerous technical service bulletins. The issue appears to occur during the 20,000 to 30,000 mile mark where it begins to experienced recurring engine performance issues, misfires, loss of power, and excessive radiator fluid consumption resulting in premature engine wear and sludge buildup. Honda sites have pointed out: "This can happen when the car is frequently idled or driven for short commutes, which can prevent the oil from flowing properly" and my commute is a 3 minute drive and 5 minute to the market. [XXX] "it’s a well documented issue and Honda America is aware of it that they’ve released an article about it for mechanics" One customer wrote "I have a 2021 Honda CRV and the engine had a terrible knock" [XXX] Please do something immediately! Several Mechanics acknowledge these widespread issues, the Lane Manager that advised me to reach out to the manufacturer pointed out that this is a “common issue”, and Your Website highlights that you all have already received similar recall campaigns for the engine oil and gasoline dilution issue that occurs approximate at the 22,500 mileage. - #11706439December 22, 2025ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
I own a 2014 Honda CR-V. Since around November 2022 I have repeatedly experienced an intermittent “bounce” or shudder when accelerating, especially around 20–25 mph and sometimes at higher speeds (around 45 mph and above). The vehicle feels like it briefly loses power or slips before catching again, and the check-engine light has come on and off during this period. I took the vehicle to Stockton Honda (CA) multiple times and consistently reported this bounce/shudder on take-off. Each time, the focus was on brakes, rotors, tires, or other maintenance items. I was never told there might be an engine or timing-chain issue or that the vehicle could be unsafe to drive. The bounce/shudder never went away. I have also been involved in multiple low-speed collisions while taking off from a stop in the past few years, and I am concerned that this hesitation/loss of power may have contributed. In late 2025, Honda of Elk Grove performed a full diagnostic, retrieved a P031 code, and told me the most likely cause is a timing-chain problem. I was advised that the vehicle is not recommended to be driven until the timing chain is replaced because the engine could be severely damaged or fail while driving. The technician refused to take the car on the freeway due to safety concerns. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA is aware that a possible timing-chain defect or failure in 2014 Honda CR-V vehicles can present as a bounce/shudder at low speeds during acceleration, with potential loss of power and increased risk of rear-end collisions, and that this condition may be missed or misdiagnosed by dealers for an extended period.

- #11706322December 20, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The failure involves the Electric Brake Booster (EBB) / brake control system on my 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The malfunction affected brake assist, ABS, Vehicle Stability Assist System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Brake System Problem,Electric Parking Brake Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System problem,Collision Mitigation System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Hill Start Assist problem. The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. This failure created a serious safety risk. Braking performance became inconsistent and unpredictable, increasing stopping distance and reducing vehicle control. This condition increased the risk of a crash during normal driving or emergency braking. The problem is persistent and reproducible. Multiple brake-related warning lights reappear every time the vehicle is driven. The symptoms are consistent with Electric Brake Booster failure reported on similar vehicles. Dealer diagnosis is pending / has identified a brake system fault related to the brake booster. The vehicle has not been inspected by Honda corporate. It has been / will be inspected by an authorized dealer or qualified service center. No police or insurance inspection occurred because no crash happened. Warning lamps appeared suddenly while driving, including Brake System, ABS, and VSA warnings. There were no prior symptoms such as noise, vibration, or gradual brake degradation before the failure. Once illuminated, the warnings remained active.

- #11706303December 20, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The most urgent issue with my vehicle is the automatic braking system. During several instances driving during the day and at night, my car has done what’s referred to as “phantom braking” where it detects something in the road, though the road is completely clear and open and the brakes engage and suddenly stop my car. It’s happened on occasions where it triggers the brakes lightly and it’s happened so intensely that my seat buckle has locked up throwing my head forward and my car comes to a near stop on the FREEWAY. It happens on regular roads as well, but the freeway is especially dangerous especially traveling at a higher rate of speed for the breaks to be engaged and rapidly slow my car down. I have been so fortunate that the times it has happened the people behind me had enough reaction time or there was no one behind me. This has happened on numerous occasions and for almost every incident it occurred I’ve had a witness (my parter at the time) they saw how jarring, intense and dangerous the braking was and how it happened out of nowhere. I brought this up to my dealership but they kept shooing me away saying that it’s not a problem and if I wanted to I could turn the automatic braking system off every single time I start my car (because that resets once your car is off and will be active the next time it’s in use) after an extreme incident on the freeway that almost got me into an accident (with a witness) I brought it to them again to which they told me my warranty was up and if I wanted to “check it out” for problems I would need to pay out of pocket and again recommended that I turn it off every time I start my vehicle. They said they wanted to see the problem themselves but it does not happen every drive. You have no idea when it is going to happen so it’s impossible to test with the intention of seeing for yourself. It’s completely random. I’ve also had electrical issues but the brake system is my priority.

My dash board lit up and started dinging. Many different messages were flashing across the screen such as driver assist feature problem, TPMS problem, and others related to the electronic driver assist features. I noticed a difference in the way my car handled as I was pulling off the highway to a gas station to check my tire pressure. It seems drivable at the moment and I don't have another vehicle option. It's a 2021 CRV.

While driving on a residential street at about 30 mph, our car suddenly, on its own and without warning, braked sharply. There was no other vehicle near to initiate the sharp braking. Had there been a car behind us at the time, the braking was so sharp it hit might have rear ended our car. We have now taken the car to the dealer for their assessment of the issue and a solution.

Aug 1, 2021: On rural highway at approx 50-55 mph, all dashboard warning lights came on as engine power was cut drasticly, (over 50%). Minimal traffic, so was able to continue cautiously at very low speed with warning flashers to nearby service station, called local Honda dealer who towed in the CRV. Dealer said the high pressure fuel pump had failed, which they replaced at my cost. No mention by the Honda dealer of any recall campaign, or report to Honda USA or NHTSA

Car has been having all of the dashboard lights come on. I search up this and there are so many same gen Honda CRV 2017-19 having the same issue happen repeatedly. I have came across atleast 50+ people online that keep having this issue come back. Also at times it will says engine is too hot and to park safely. This is 3rd time where my car is in idle and the car shuts off and says engine is too hot to which I then turn it off. When I proceed to try to start car after waiting it does not stay on. I went to 2 different Hondas and they stated battery, alternator, starter are good. This car is no good if everyone is having the same issues.

Dealer inspected my 2019 Honda CR-V on 12/18/2025 and informed me that 3 of my 4 fuel injectors need to be replaced. When the problem occurred, my safety was at risk, and others could have been put at risk because the vehicle stalled and smoke came out, indicating something was burning. I visited the dealer for this problem because they replaced the defective/recalled fuel pump in January 2025. The smell of gas, stalling, and smoke indicated fuel problems associated with the original fuel pump recall. No warning lamps or messages or any other symptoms of the issue before the failure. This came out of nowhere. I had the vehicle serviced by the same dealer for an oil change during the Thanksgiving week, and the dealer did not report any issues to me. Shockingly, my vehicle is not on the recall list, since this is obviously a HONDA DEFECT and nothing I did. The car has low mileage, only 26,000 miles, and fuel injectors failing with this low mileage is unheard of. Shame on HONDA for not fixing this for free and sticking their customers with a high repair bill since the car is out of the original warranty period, and an extended warranty was not put in place by HONDA for this VIN. I contacted the HONDA corporate office to open a reimbursement case, but they said it could take months for a decision because there are so many consumer complaints. Please open an investigation into the failing fuel injectors to make HONDA responsible for their defective cars.

Subject: Safety Recall Concern - VIN: [XXX] - Location: Ukraine Message: "I am writing to report a safety concern regarding my 2024 Honda CR-V (VIN: [XXX] ), which was originally manufactured for the U.S. market and is currently located in Ukraine. According to the official Honda MyGarage portal, my vehicle has two active and unremedied safety recalls: NHTSA Recall 24V-763 (Manufacturer Code: PJW) - High-Pressure Fuel Pump Leak. NHTSA Recall 24V-744 (Manufacturer Code: SMM) - Steering Gearbox (EPS) Friction issue. Given the serious nature of these defects—specifically the risk of fuel leaks/fire and the potential loss of steering control—I am concerned about the safety of operating this vehicle. As the car is now in Ukraine, I would like to request assistance in ensuring that the necessary improved parts (the high-pressure fuel pump and the steering gearbox components) are made available to an authorized Honda dealer in Ukraine to perform these critical safety repairs. I look forward to your guidance on how to proceed with these safety remedies internationally. Reoccurring steering issue- After having the steering wheel rac & gear box replaced in April 2024 on my 2022 CRV (purchased brand new), the issue is reoccurring in Nov. 2025. . My 2022 CRV steering wheel sticks when driving on the interstate and doesn’t want to turn and is difficult to steer causing me to have to jerk the wheel and nearly wreck my car. The steering wheel also feels loose and spins around and round while at a stop. The steering wheel knocks/pops during a hard turns. Since this a wide spread issue well documented online, I would expect for there to be a recall - but there is not one on my 2022 CRV even though I have experienced the issue twice now. The dealership and Honda Corp is agreeing to pay a large portion of the $3000+ bill but I am still stuck paying nearly $200 for a defect that should be covered fully due to obvious manufacturing defects in the part. The car is 3 years old and has had the steering wheel rac replaced twice! Ridiculous!!!
