-What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Steering seems to lock when in a constant wheel position, either going straight or slightly turned for a large diameter constant turn. Steering frees with larger than normal force resulting in a jerkiness feeling. The needed effort could ketch the driver off guard and over or undercurrent. -How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Steering feel is unnatural and makes small corrections in steering input difficult. Driver could over correct or not overcome the initial resistance resulting in an unintended path of travel. -Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Experience with local dealers in the past is that if it isn’t something that jumps out at them from the parking spot to the lift they indicate no problem/issue -Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No -Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No

UNKNOWN issue with steering. When steering along long curves on the highway and then trying to straighten the steering wheel, the steering wheel will feel stuck and take a bit more force to overcome the position it gets stuck at before being able to be straightened out. Adding this amount of force to overcome the stuck steering wheel causes the car to swerve slightly.

At about 5000 miles the steering sticks and is difficult to keep in lane. When stopped and the steering wheel is moved back and forth you can hear a clunking noise underneath. Took to dealer and could not confirm. No warning lights or messages.

Steering wheel sticking when attempting to maintain driving in a straight line, or when attempting to change lanes. It seems as though the steering wheel is fighting me. Vehicle was purchased new during August 2023 with four (4) miles on the odometer. At that time there were no noticeable steering issues. Beginning December 2023, with approximately 1550 miles on the odometer is when I first began experiencing the issue. There were no warning lights and/or messages prior to first experiencing the issue. The issue seems to be getting worse as vehicle mileage increases. As of this date 12/26/2023, I have not had an accident. However when the steering wheel sticks I have to jerk the steering wheel to maintain a straight line causing the vehicle to over compensate. On occasions it has set off the Lane Keeping Assist function. Also it sticks when attempting to change lanes. I have not yet reported this issue to my local Honda dealership due to the holidays, but do intend to do so this week. Please note that I have found numerous complaints regarding the issue when doing an Internet search. Supposedly Honda issue a technical service bulletin regarding this issue in July 2023. My vehicle is available for inspection when ever needed. My phone number is [XXX] , and my email address is [XXX] should you need to contact me. Steering sticks. It feels like it sticks then releases. Does this every time it's driven. I reported to dealer where I purchased vehicle. They took it in and were not able to notice any issues. They put on computer and nothing alerted. It drove normal for about a week after I picked it up, but then issue came back again.

The power steering of the vehicle is malfunctioning while driving on the freeway. The steering feels like it gets “stuck” and doesn’t correct itself. Even if the car goes out of the lane, it maintains its position and doesn’t correct itself. Thus, One has to add force to correct the steering. The dealership has confirmed the issue and has estimated that the parts will arrive by April 2024.

Our 2018 CRV Touring modelm has had the dashboard light up like a christmas tree with all codes flashing. We have had the vehicle to the local honda dealer numerous times and also to a private garage. The battery has been changerd out, The Honda dealer performed a sparkplug recall and the car continues to do this with the dashboard lighting up showing all kinds of codes. Last evening for the second time the car would not go above 10 MPH. I had to shut down the engine and restart. This is very dangerous. We bought the car brand new and have had all the maintenance done. My wife is afraid to drive the car, Is there anything NHTSA can do to have Honda look into this problem. From my looking into this it appears quite a few honda CRV's are encountering this problem. This is unsafe. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing back from you

The vehicle starts to shift me off of the road as steering wheel gets “stuck”while driving on the interstate. Lane assist and any/all safety features were not enabled. Took my car to the Honda dealership on November 21. I was informed it is “sticky steering” and the part is on backorder indefinitely.

Car shut down while driving in middle of highway couldn’t even get it to shoulder. Everything stopped. Would not restart. Took to Honda Dealer. “Reset” fuel pump. Said we were out of gas but there was still 1/8 tank. No other diagnosis. Very unsafe.

My Crv has difficulty in steering. I can go straight down the road and try to change lanes. It can take a strong tug to get it to change lanes. Once it loosens back up it is ok to steer. I took it to the Honda dealer and they said it was normal. I think they are avoiding a dangerous problem. If I turn on the lane keep assist it is even harder to steer. I have reported this before. Nothing gets logged I will try a different dealer after the holidays. Why should I have to lemon law a car for a common problem.

Front wheel left tie rod had loose bolt. Around 3000 miles with no warning. Could hear clicking sound when breaking and accelerating from a stop. Was inspected and tightened. Steering stick or glitches for first .5 inch or so of turning, especially at high speeds. No warnings. Safety was at risk. Around 4000 miles. Was inspected and waiting for steering rack replacement.

- #11561420December 22, 2023FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The car just braked and stopped for no reason. Nothing in front of me. I could've been rear ended. Took it to the dealer the following day and they could not replicate the incident. They found nothing wrong with the brakes. Brake warning light came on when the car came to an unexpected and sudden stop.
