I noticed periodically over the span of a few weeks that when making left hand turns the steering would stick. Making me use slight more force to "unstick" it. I turned off lane assist and all other driving assist programs to help isolate the issue. Being a brand new car I wasn't sure it this was a new normal or not with all the new bells and whistles I have now. A few weeks later it was becoming more consistent. I noticed it gradually getting worse with the slightest left turn of the steering wheel. I made an appointment with the Honda Dealership where I purchased the vehicle from. At this appointment on 2/10/24 the sticking issue was duplicated by the technician and was discovered that I needed an electric power steering rack. I was told these parts were on back order as they have other new vehicles in the shop with the same issue. They could not provide an ETA for my parts. They sent me on my way in my vehicle. I feel my safety, any passengers as well as others on the road around me are at a safety risk. Say the steering rack seizes in the middle of the highway - that I drive daily. Anything is possible with a steering issue. Vehicle has only been inspected by Honda dealership service technicians. Occasionally when starting the car a would get a " Road departure mitigation problem. See Dealership" message. Message only populates when starting the vehicle. This to was said to be resolved by the Honda service technician on 2/10/24 with a electronic update.

The starter button must be pressed multiple times to start the vehicle. Have had an attempted repaired twice and problem persists. I understand there is a recall for this problem in other countries.

- #11571199February 10, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On 2/10/2024 I was stopped waiting to put gas in my car when all of a sudden multiple lights lite up on my dash board (vehicle stability assist, vsa problems, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control problems, collision mitigation problems, road departure mitigation system problem, power steering (eps) problems, electric brake system problem, emission system problem, brake system problem, * all integral to safe driving for me. I was able to drive slowly to my mechanic and he was able to do a diagnostic assessment and it showed a code B1234 (Air Mix Control Motor Circuit (Driver's) Short. He was able to turn all the warning lights off. I am now a little afraid to use my car long distance until I can get assured that this will not happen again. In searching the internet I find that this is not an isolated occurrence. There are multiple complaints regarding this same issue.

Honda issued a safety recall for rear frame corrosion; we learned of the recall in Apr 2023 & took the car to Vidmar Honda (Pueblo, CO) in Jun2023. They didn't have the equipment to conduct the inspection, said they would order it & notify us when it arrived; I followed up in Aug & Sept and they hadn't ordered the equipment. On Oct 10 I brought the car in to have the TPMS repaired & they informed me there was a safety recall. Later Vidmar informed me the car was too rusty to make the safety repair, but they repaired the TPMS (that is FRAUD). I pointed out that the Honda recall notice said the dealer would offer to repurchase the vehicle if the car could not be repaired, but Vidmar denied that was how the recall worked (Honda MISREPRESENTED the recall process to its customers). WE WERE NOT INFORMED THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE & WE WERE PERMITTED TO TAKE THE CAR, being told that the issue was now with American Honda. I received a voicemail from Honda on Oct 12 telling me of our recall case number; I returned the call 9 times but had no further calls from Honda. On [XXX] the frame failed & the right rear tire nearly separately from the frame; the vehicle was towed to a Honda dealer in Colorado Springs & I informed both Vidmar Honda & American Honda that day of the structural failure. On Jan 12, 2024, Honda called & offered to repurchase the car (the caller was not aware that the vehicle had failed & was off the road); afterwards I received an email from Honda INFORMING US FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE & SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN - 45 days after the structural failure, 84 days after the repair could not be made, and 7 months after we first tried to have the vehicle repaired. To date Honda has not made an offer in writing to repurchase the car; the GM of Vidmar showed us pictures of the car in Dec from [XXX] & said, "that's not good when you can see light coming from the other side [of the frame] " and "that's real swiss cheese there." Car exhibits temporary locking or sticking of the steering wheel while making normal minor in-lane adjustments. The persistent sticking issue is most pronounced at highway speeds (> 60 mph) and on straight roads. This is the same steering issue widely reported for the 22-23 Honda Civic, which has the same steering equipment as the 2023 CRVs. Any defect that interferes with steering should be considered a safety hazard.

The car has a warranty that was extended because of camshaft issues. The warranty expired 2023 I bought the car in 2023. The issue started happening in 2024. The car will just stop and not go no matter how much you press the gas. So driving anywhere at any speed the car will just all of a sudden stop. it’s extremely dangerous and obviously it’s a problem that Honda has already recognized

My 2015 Honda CR-V, at 128,547 miles, with remaining oil life @ 30%, the check oil light is flashing. Took it to the dealership and was told the car was 3 quarts low in oil. After diagnosis, I was told I needed a new engine because my the oil being lost is actually backing up into the engine. To replace the engine would cost me out of pocket $7527.72, because the car is no longer under warranty. Really, at 128,547 miles to replace the engine when the car was purchased and has been serviced by this same dealership? Something is wrong with this picture. I purchased a Honda based on it's decent reputation to stand behind their product. But Honda Corp advised me today that I'm just at a loss in this situation. They have no intentions of making this good for the customer! What a let-down!

The driver's side rear window appears to have spontaneously shattered completely while the locked vehicle was parked in the driveway in front of the house. Two guard dogs were sleeping inside the house about 20 feet from the vehicle, and they never barked once. The back seat and floor were covered with chards of glass as was the driveway as far as 8 feet from the vehicle. The window appears to have exploded in two directions at the same time. There were no visible scratches or chips on the window before it shattered. Nothing inside the vehicle was disturbed otherwise. The damage was reported to my insurance company and my Honda dealer neither of whom could offer any explanation. The damage was not inspected by anyone other than myself and members of my family. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to this event. The rear driver's side window and door were operating normally.

On a level straight highway and at highway speed, the steering is sticky. Within the lane, just moving the steering wheel takes extra effort to get beyond what feels like a notch in the steering. The more level and straight the road is the more noticeable the notch is.

The steering wheel sticks and becomes stiff intermittently at various speeds. It seems to happen significantly less in cold temperatures (under 35°f). When performing a turn or slight correction, more bodily force is required to make the move which has resulted in exaggerated moves/corrections. This issue was presented to the dealership and their technician allegedly drove my vehicle and another of the same year/model and was unable to recreate the issue.

Horn is not adequate as a warning mechanism for safety. A large number of owners are complaining about this issue. Honda knows the horn is inadequate but instead of providing a suitable horn for the vehicle they are selling an add on horn for customers to purchase through the parts department. The horn provided with the vehicle should be of sufficient volume to serve as a safety device. This is not acceptable.

Day #4 of ownership of brand new 2024 Honda CR-V Sport Touring, passenger side mirror cracked on a cold morning, approximately 18 degrees. Suspect heating element was too hot and the transition from cold to hot too rapidly caused a vertical crack from top to bottom that impairs vision. Called the dealer, part is on back order and they have no clue when it'll come in. Would not commit to tell me if it was under warranty or not.

Our complaint is in regards to the factory horn Honda is installing on the current generation of CR-Vs. After purchase one week ago of our 2024 model year, we noticed the horn was very faint. Believing it to be a defect, we researched online and found that it is as designed. The horn is so poor that dealers are selling "upgrade kits" and posting online videos on how to install. The standard horn comes as a single high-tone that is insufficient. These kits include a second low-tone horn and a y-splitter cable that will hook into the factory single high-tone horn. Once the low tone is installed, the horn sounds and functions as any vehicle should be expected to function. But otherwise, the factory single high-tone is inadequate and not safe. I have tested this by having my spouse behind me on the roadway in clear weather at night and stopped at a red light. The horn is very faint and not adequate enough to provide proper warning if needed. If I was not expecting the horn test from my spouse, I would not have thought it was a vehicle horn at all. Now consider adding in poor weather and driving at 70mph, the horn would do nothing to warn another driver from an improper lane change to avoid a collision. With over 10 years of law enforcement and traffic-related experience, I am asking that this matter be investigated and require Honda to issue a recall to bring their horns up to standard by providing the fix to owners at no charge to add the low-tone second horn so that the vehicle will sound a warning at a volume and depth as needed in everyday usage. Buyers should not have to pay to upgrade this most basic of safety equipment and does not provide good optics for Honda to cut costs in this way and increase margin for dealers as an aftermarket kit.

Display unexpectedly switches to brightness setting and then blinks off and on constantly with loud noise then goes dark, and repeats flashing noise dark etc. controls do not stop it and must pull off if interstate and turn off vehicle and restart to make it stop. It is a huge distraction and very scary to experience. How is this not a safety concern for Honda? Others have experience in what I have read. Needs to be a recall before folks wreck. You should not have to stop your car to get the flashing to quit. Would love to upload video of the experience. This happens about 1 to 2 times time a month at least. And started with about 37k on CRV and still doing it at 64k. Only reported now cause I have read of others having same issue.

*To be honest, I'm unsure of what systems are failing, but there are multiple. The dash shows Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA problem), Hill Start Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Power Steering (EPS) Problem, Electric Parking Brake Problem, Emissions System Problem, Brake System Problem. *These systems are integral to safe driving for me and my family, even though I can drive the vehicle. I cannot use cruise control, lane-keep assist, or brake hold, and the car is not handling like it was. It tends to be harder to control. * The warning lamps and messages are on and indicated in the first point. This happened on Monday while my wife was driving, and all those systems shut off. When she parked she did an online search of what the issue might be and found multiple YouTube videos of Honda owners for different models and years with the same problem. One remedy required a reboot of the electrical system in accessory mode. That worked for a day, but now the errors won't clear, and we're unable to use the vehicle's safety features.

Car makes horrible sound when cranking. I work with three other people that have Honda CRv cars that are having this exact same noise occurring every time they crank their cars as well. Google search indicates it may be a cam actuator gear assembly gone bad.
