Our 2018 Honda CR-V has had steering issues since (first noticed) approx one year after purchase. The steering is "sticky," especially at highway speeds, and worse after the vehicle is hot (after being driven for awhile). We once took it to a Honda dealer, complaining of this issue, and the technician assigned was very flippant, drove it around the block (not at highway speeds) and dismissed our concerns, saying there was nothing wrong. Recently, we read about a RECALL of 2022-25 Honda CR-Vs for this EXACT same issue. (The issue/problem in the recall of 2022-25 model years is EXACTLY what we are experiencing in our 2018 CRV: sticky steering that is substantially worse at high speeds and after the vehicle has been driven awhile. We are very concerned, because our steering "sticks" ALWAYS at highway speeds when warm/hot. Can you somehow evaluate our vehicle, because the technician/dealer does not seem interested or concerned.

- #11619103October 10, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving 40Mph on a two way road, no cars in front of me. I was going straight when all of the sudden my car auto brake activated. Normally I’ll get the warning, where it goes “beep beep” and big orange text that says “BRAKE” pops up but most of the time that happens if there is a car in front of me, and maybe I am coming up on it a little fast. It’s never hit the brakes for me though. And it’s never gave me the brake warning when there is nothing in front of me. So I am driving at 40Mph, clear road, nothing in front of me that should set off the sensor when all of the sudden my car hits the brakes and gives me a huge shock. It was almost immediate, I didn’t even hear the beep beep or see the warning until after the brakes were activated. It only lasted a second or so and then I was able to continue driving but now I’m scared.

Autopark Honda in Cary, NC does not have the 12 volt battery cable replacement for repair of my 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid after having sent out the safety recall notice in JANUARY 2024. This seems rather ridiculous that a major worldwide auto manufacturer cannot produce the replacement part after almost 9 months.

Vehicle has steering issues that act up intermittently and sporadic. The steering issue has been intermittent for the past 8 months or so. When I am going around a right-hand curve in the road the steering wheel will get "sticky" or stuck in a certain spot and require more force than is generally required to turn the wheel. In other words, normally the steering is like butter and moves easily and freely in any direction. But when this issue occurs the steering is no longer easy to move but gets stiff or "sticky" in a certain location. Also, if I am making a sharp right hand turn from one street onto another the steering sometimes makes a click noise and I get a vibration and leftwards tugging sensation feeling to the left in the steering wheel. This is also a very intermittent and sporadic problem. I feel this is a safety issue because the "sticky steering" is alarming while you are driving and there is the potential for one to overcompensate and possibly crash. I took the vehicle back to where I bought it in April 2024 for this steering issue. I bought it at JONES HONDA, MANHEIM PIKE, LANCASTER PA. Jones simply told me that they could not duplicate the problem and I should return when the vehicle is experiencing these issues. I returned one week later when the car was acting up for me but the technician rode along and I could not get the car to act up again on our ride. The problem is very intermittent and that makes it especially difficult to get fixed. However, having said that, I don't feel Jones Honda has been honest with me about what they know about similar complaints and I don't feel Jones has made a good faith effort to do what is required to fix the issue. There are no odd warning lights or anything that comes on which might help pinpoint the issue.

The speedometer can report zero (0) when the car is moving slowly. This is probably the rounding policy in software. The actual speed was maybe 0.4 mph, but was reported as zero mph. If the actual speed was 10.4 mph but reported as 10, fine, not a big deal, but zero has a much different meaning than any other value. It means none, that the car isn't moving, but the car was.

I have a 2016 Honda CRV. Approx 2 years ago several electrical problems started. 1. )Radio started turning on and off on its own. 2. ) Car locks would lock and unlock on their own. I will be sitting in car and the car would lock and unlock on its own approx 4-5 times and then stop. It would also happen when I would get out of the car and lock the door and as soon as I walked away I could hear it unlock again and it did not matter if I locked it on the door panel or use the key FOB. I thought at first maybe I am doing something wrong, but it has also happened to my husband multiple times. This could be a safety issue, not knowing if its locked or unlocked my child could open the door while I am driving. Also someone could get into my car. 3.) My car battery started losing juice frequently. I would have to jump it, and now this is happening approx every 6 weeks. 4.) The Key FOB also juices out frequently and I have had to replace it multiple times and batteries are not cheap. I have been stranded 4 times at night and I beleive it was a risk to my personal safety. I have taken it to a independent service for the locks but they could not duplicate and told me it would be expensive to check the electrical system to first see if there were any electrical recalls first. I have read all the complaints on your site and there are over 60 electrical complaints. Many in regards to the Car's Battery discharging. One person talked about the seat position would move on its own, another said their headlights would turn off and on. Although there are many different electrical complaints they are all electrical related and warrant an investigation. As a consumer it is very fustrating as the price for buying and fixing a car is expensive. I don't know what it takes to have a recall but I hope NHTSA does the right thing especially when people are losing faith in big companies/agencies. Thank you

[XXX] 2015 Honda CRV would not start, called AAA who determined battery needed to be replaced. AAA replaced battery on the spot upon purchase. [XXX] 2015 Honda CRV would not start, called AAA who determined battery was bad, needed to be replaced, AAA replaced with a AAA battery. Battery drain continued, exhausted the AAA road side allotment. 10/2023 Local Service Center checked battery and determined AAA was bad. Purchased and had Interstate Battery installed. Battery drain continued. Purchased AllStart Microburst to jump start the 2015 Honda CRV. 12/15/2023 Went to Balise Honda (see attachments) for diagnostic testing. Balise Honda provided a diagnostic result for the "good" battery, but determined that the Remote Start System that was installed by Boch Honda when I purchase the 2015 Honda CRV on [XXX] was the problem. The remote start was disconnected. 9/17/2024 Went back to Balise Honda requested another diagnostic test. Car needed to be "jump started" almost daily even though the CRV is driven daily to charge the battery. Disconnecting the remote start did not solve the battery drain. Balise determined a $3212.12 Instrument Panel Wire Harness and Keyless Access Unit was needed. No diagnosis report provided. 10/9/2024: To date the electrical cause is uncertain. Found a Consumer Reports article that confirmed there are issues with the 2015 Honda CRV: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

After driving for a few miles, the engine stall / studders while driving. Speed limited to 9 mph. Issue is intermittent. It has happened 6 times in one evening causing us to have to pull over to the edge of the freeway. The car is not currently doing this but the symptoms are the same as described in “Safety Recall: 2018–20 CR-V Fuel Pump Motor”

Our 2018 Honda CRV EX-L AWD started exhibiting symptoms of when driving straight and making minor corrections the wheel felt like a magnet was holding it and the would let go causing you to over correct, started maybe 2-3 months ago, starting to feel like it’s getting worse. Took 2 trips to Honda dealer and me doing research online about service bulletins and recalls before they could figure it out. Given Honda has a Bulletin about it and there was a NHTSA campaign for it, which affects safety it seems Honda should be covering this repair. (NHTSA Campaign # 18V663000) Was told it only affected a few vehicles and ours wasnt part of the campaign even though it’s the exact problem ours has. The car feels unsafe with it the steering becoming unpredictable and it should be Hondas responsibility to rectify this safety issue especially since the company knows of it, yet the dealer told me wouldn’t be covered and I would have to pay $4417.21 to fix this! I dont have that type of money laying around for this big of a repair! Let alone why would I want to pay for it when it sounds like a known issue that Honda should be doing the right thing and covering what sounds like a manufacturing defect. Dealer seemed to reference Honda Service Bulletin 18-103 which exactly describes our issue in the CRV and seems to also match the same statement of the NHTSA bulletin above. We ended up paying to get the vehicle fixed at Honda Dealer, and Honda Corporate refused to help us out at all, receiving an emailed reply that our vehicle is out of warranty and we should just consider this the normal cost of ownership. I decided it was time to file a complaint after seeing even brand new CR-V's are being recalled for steering issues as well now. It seems clear there is widespread issues with many Honda Vehicles and has been for years and Honda isn't doing the right thing and fixing dangerous steering on ALL affected vehicles, and seems to still be building models with the problem!
