On [XXX], my 2015 Honda CRV completely stopped at a traffic light on [XXX] . All warning lights came on. At the time, the vehicle had 60,000 miles. I was towed to Bill Page Honda in Annandale, Va. They could not determined the cause of the engine failure. I was then towed to Ourisman Honda of Tysons Corner where I purchased the vehicle. (Reference attached invoice dated 08/08/03) No reason could be given for the complete shut down of the engine. Note that all required maintenance work had been completed on this vehicle as scheduled. A used motor was installed. I'm filing the complaint in light of the current probe by the NHTSA on this Honda vehicle even though the year of my vehicle is not included in the probe. I've spoken with an NHTSA representative on 11/18/24 (Call Ref.# 1586954) who referred me to the Federal Trade Commission asking that I make reference to my call to the NHTSA. I left a voicemail on 11/18/24 with the Federal Trade Commission at (202)366-2222. I'm waiting for a call back. On 10/28 I received a phone call from my son stating he was trying to head home when he left his parking spot and the car would no go over 10 mph and all system alerts came on. He drove the car a couple yard and then parked it. I told him to stay there and I’d be there in 10 mins. He called a few minutes later to say the car was now acting fine. I told him to stay there because we would take the car to the dealership and leave it to be checked out the next day. I have made multiple attempts to get the fuel pump replaced to no avail. I keep being told by the dealership that the part is not available and they would call when it becomes available. I have called at least four different times to address this issue. My son drives this car down a four lane highway with a speed limit of 60mph. It has been concerning to me that the fuel pump may fail and a tractor trailer may come upon him and cause a crash due to the lag of our vehicle. I have also taken the car to the dealership and left it overnight because all the alerts come on and cycle through. I receive a call the next day from the dealership who is unable to recreate the issue. As a result of the recall and cycling of system messages, I believe the fuel pump to be the issue since symptoms aligned with the recall. I was informed two days later the issue was the head gasket and I was informed it would be better to replace the entire engine. I’ve since read all of the concerns with the 1.5 liter turbo engines and believe the faulty design created this safety hazard. I submitted a case to Honda on 10/30 and have been contacting them since in an effort to resolve the issue. On Thursday 11/14 I asked that the case be escalated and have yet to have anyone from Honda contact me. I have contacted them at least 10 times over the past three weeks with absolutely no response.

I took my vehicle in for its' first service. The code displayed was A 1 6 indicating the new to change the oil and change the transmission fluid. I thought it was strange that I needed to change the transmission fluid so soon. After the dealer inspected my vehicle, they found that the manufacturer improperly routed/attached a hose that caused the transmission to leak fluid. The transmission fluid level was LOW on a brand new vehicle with only 10,000 miles at first service. I am curious if this is a common assembly issue.

I was driving on a four lane highway in February 2024 and the engine of my 2021 Honda CR-V just stopped working and the car was not responding. I was able to coast the car into a parking lot where I had to have it towed to the nearest Honda dealership. I was told the fuel pump had failed and needed replacing. I was told there was no recall on my model for this fuel pump and had to pay full price for the repair of over $1000. I now see where this fuel pump is failing in other models of CR-Vs but mine is not listed though the experience mentioned in the recall matches what I experienced. There was no warning of the failure and when the car stopped running all the warning messages just kept recycling over and over on the display. There was no prior warning of the failure. I was very concerned because I was on a busy highway and was worried about getting hit. The repair was done at a Honda Dealership.

Sudden Unintended Acceleration Vehicle has approx 60,700 miles and never a mechanical issue, been extremely reliable. Today [XXX] went shopping in Burlington ,MA (from Watertown, MA) no issues from 7:15AM departure to about 9:05 AM at friend house (XXX).. While parking on part of sidewalk, went into reverse. Then switched to "drive" to position vehicle and suddenly had obvious event of sudden unintended acceleration. Put in neutral and hit brake, as I am always on alert for issue based on past events. . Happened one more time a minute later and foot was not on accelerator but on brake as I switched between reverse and Drive. Made a point with wife in passenger seat to assure not on accelerator. Last time issue occurred was on [XXX] and recorded event even to Honda. On 6/13/24 someone called "Walter" called from Honda regarding my recording issues with Honda (5 incidences). As we were going on vacation I told him that he should call me back after 7/17/24 and he said OK, no problem. I never got a call back. Left vehicle with son-in-law who is master mechanic and he checked it while I was away. Cleaned Throttle body and other parts. Seemed to correct it and no problem at all until [XXX]. Am always prepared for a rare repeat event when coming to a stop or at a stop, hand on transmission shift and foot on brake. Problem is that it occurs rarely and no way a dealer or maybe even a Honda rep will pin down the cause as it's not repeatable. Will have son-in-law recheck it before wasting time with dealer or Honda again , neither of who will never find a cause or repeat it while they hold my vehicle. . Note: There are two prior reports from me to NHTSA INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving on the highway, vehicles dashboard lights came on and car immediately began to slow down which resulted in a complete stop. Let vehicle rest and started up again no issues. After driving for a period of time it occurred again. Dealership reviewed and reported no problems. Requested dealership to drive vehicle at a higher speed for a period of time. Issue occurred again. After further inspection it was the fuel injectors that were misfiring. At the time, parts were back ordered indefinitely. Vehicle has since been repaired.

- I own a 2020 CR-V Hybrid LX with a Continuously Variable Transmission that has been experiencing persistent engine problems over the past few months. I have taken the vehicle to two Honda dealership service centers, but neither location has been able to identify the root cause of the issue. Currently, the car is with a Honda dealership mechanic for further inspection. I am seeking assistance in resolving this matter as the issue remains unresolved despite multiple attempts. -The engine problem initially occurred while I was driving, causing the car to slow down unexpectedly. Most recently, the issue occurred when I started the vehicle. - The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by both Honda dealerships I visited; however, neither dealership has been able to determine the root cause. They have run several diagnostics and even cleaned out the fuel tank, but the problem persists. - Both Honda dealerships informed me that they brought in a manufacturing engineer and technician to conduct further testing. They recommended flushing the fuel tank and fuel line and replacing the spark plugs; however, the engine problem remains unresolved. I reached out to Honda headquarters about this issue, and they advised me to follow up after hearing back from the technician and engineer. However, I have not received any response since following up. - There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the engine issue. The warning messages and lights only appeared once the engine began to fail. The problem first started back in June. At that time, the car was not due for any maintenance and had no prior major issues.

- #11625845November 18, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On Saturday November 16th 2024 I was driving my Honda CRV hybrid year 2021 when about 7:10pm I heard a beep, beep, beep and at the same time the car suddenly breaked in the middle of an intersection; there was nothing in the forward path so I don't really know why the car stopped abruptly. After a few seconds I put my foot in the accelerator and continued to go. When I arrived home I reviewed the videos (I had installed front and rear cameras) and verified that certainly there wasn't anything in front of the car when it braked by itself other than a manhole cover. I was in the car with 2 friends, thankfully no other cars were behind me or coming in any direction otherwise this event would've been catastrophic. Now I am afraid to drive the car because this could happen again and have a different ending. Note: I have videos that show this incident

Spare tire wheel well fills with water during heavy rain. Today I sucked out at least 2-3 gallons. Water goes 1/2 to 3/4 up the spare tire. Due to moisture Jack has rusted, headliner coming down and tire is slimy. 2020 Honda said problem was fixed but every time we have a hard rain it fills with water. Research has shown many people have same issue and have been unable to find source of leaks. If I get a flat don’t know if Jack will work or in spare is ok. Headliner is going to cause issues too.

I was driving on a straight street doing about 35 MPH and my car all of the sudden braked. Luckily there was no one behind me, had there been, I would have definitely caused an accident. I contacted a Honda dealership and they said there are no recalls on my vehicle, so could only make an appointment, try to recreate the issue and run a diagnostic, but they said they never heard of the issue. I had no issues or warning lights prior too. My car was inspected in June and I just recently had the oil changed and brakes checked. I take the highway to work and I'm very afraid if this happens at highway speed what would happen.

2 weeks ago I was coming to a stop on a hill and the car stalled like it was about to shut off, but it kept running. A week ago. I was turning into a parking lot and the car stalled. The steering wheel got hard, so I turned off the car and then I turned it back on again. It stalled a little bit, but then it turned on. And finally yesterday November 16, 2024 as I was turning into a supermarket parking lot. The car stalled and shut off completely and didn’t want to restart. Two men. One was a mechanic pushed the car out of the way, and the mechanic one told me that it’s the timing chain.

I took my CRV to replace the tires and get the brakes done. The mileage was 134583. While in the shop the mechanic showed me the brake lines for the front. Both front brake lines had large bulges, balloon-like, and appeared ready to burst. It seemed unusual for both brake lines to exhibit the same failure, at the same time, through regular wear and tear. In reviewing available data, brake lines are expect to last the life of the vehicle and this certainly did not, presenting a potential safety risk. I asked the mechanic to provide me with the brake lines, which I have included photos of below, and will share with Honda (Heritage Honda in Bel Air, MD) where the vehicle was purchased. Note the bulges in the photo are much less once the brake lines were disconnected; however the area where the bulges were is still apparent.

MY 2016 HONDA CRV IS MAKING A RATTLING NOISE THAT SOUND LIKE ITS COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN I START THE CAR AND WHEN IM DRIVING IT. ACCORDING TO YOUR WEBSITE THERE IS A RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR "CERTAIN 2016 HONDAS" THAT HAVE THE SAME NOISE AS MINE THATS CAUSED BY THE CONNECTING ROD BEARING WHICH CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE. "WHY IS MY CAR NOT PART OF THIS RECALL." THIS CAR IS DRIVEN BY ME AND MY WIFE AS A FAMILY CAR. IF YOUR INVEATIGATON REVEALS THAT THE NOISE IN MY CAR IS THE SAME NOISE IN THE CARS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL THEN I AM REQUETSTING THAT THE 2016 HONDA CRV BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST ASAP. I HAVE HAD NO WORK DONE ON THE CAR RELATING TO THE IS NOISE. THANK YOU [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
