Vehicle: 2025 Honda Civic Touring Hybrid - Continental ProContact tires On Sun Oct 19 11:30am while driving N on I95 at SC/NC border at hwy speeds in heavy traffic the LR tire/rim exploded causing the car to spin out and nearly cause a serious accident. I was able to bring the car under control and pull to the side of the road. The car was nearly new 4 mths old w/2300 miles. The tires/rims were in new condition. Honda roadside service refused to tow the car under their roadside policy. I called Triple A and paid out of pocket to have the car towed to Walmart who installed an off brand tire of the same size that I was able to continue to Virginia. While examining the tire/rim at Walmart service they showed me how the complete inside sidewall of the tire completly separated in 1 piece from the rest of the tire/rim. THESE CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TIRES ARE A DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD AND HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE VEHICLES AND REPLACE THEM WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND, PREFERABLY MICHELIN. I've contacted Honda USA customer relations and so far they have refused to take any action or cover my tow & temp tire replacement cost nor accept responsibility to replace the dangerous Continental tires. I currently have the bad tire in my possession for Honda/NHTSA inspection.

- #11689698September 25, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
On a two way lane highway, vehicle detects on coming traffic and causes sudden deceleration of vehicle and braking which can cause being rear ended by another vehicle. This also occurs on multi lane freeways when going in the same direction the vehicle will detect a vehicle in the lane next to me braking and again cause the vehicle to decelerate and brake which could cause an accident. Occurs at least once or twice a week. I have a video of the issue which might be better

Driving about 40 mph on a rural road, coming up to a curve in the road (or already in the curve when suddenly the 2025 Honda civic hybrid sedan sport touring beeped fast and then immediately braked hard. There was no car in front of me but there was a car coming towards me in the opposite direction. There was no fog or rain, it was daytime. Believe the CMBS caused this. If a car would have been close behind me, I may have been rear ended. Also, if this happened on snow or ice, would have lost control. Did not take it to the dealer as others have stated, they could not find the problem. I believe the dash showed “ Brake” just as it happened but nothing before.

- #11687513September 16, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
While driving at highway speeds with the Adaptive Cruise Control system active, the system is causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop to avoid a collision that does not exsist. In all cases when this has occurred, there are no other vehicles on the road. This inlcudes in front, beside or coming toward me from the opposite direction. When this does occur, the screen does show a vehicle icon as if it is detecting a vehicle in front of me but there is none. Since purchasing this vehicle in May 2025, this issue has occurred 6 times. I have brought this to my dealers attention during my most recent visit and was advised Honda was working on an update to resolve this issue but I have not received any communication from Honda indicating a recall was coming or an update to resolve.

While utilizing adaptive cruise control in clear weather, the system will harshly brake when there are no obstacles or vehicles ahead. I have almost been rear ended on numerous occasions due to unexpected braking while at highway speeds. I have not gone to the dealership yet, but intend to do so. During these braking events there are no other warning lights, and no other visual or audio alerts.

While driving down the highway, my sunroof suddenly and unexpectedly shattered without any external impact with no warning. My safety was put at risk because the glass exploded all over me and could’ve caused an accident had I been around other drivers. The dealer told me it was hard to determine if this was a defect or something hit my car and stated I need to bring it into them specifically for inspection, I haven’t done so yet expecting that this will result as my fault so I’m taking precaution before going there.

- #11677904August 1, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Purchased a new 2025 Honda Civic, at around 9,000 miles, experienced rough idling and concerns for stalling upon turning on the vehicle. On park position multiple dash lights/warnings appeared, dark grey smoke and the smell of sulfur came from the exhaust. The rough idling made a crack on my engine cover due to the shaking of the car. Took to dealership and they found active misfires on 2 cylinder fuel injectors which lead to damaging 2 spark plugs. Dealership repaired and replaced issues.

Sunroof spontaneously exploded on the highway. Was maintaining a good distance between my car and the car in front of me, so I doubt it was a rock that was kicked up that broke my sunroof. Glass looks like it broke from inside out.

- #11676417July 26, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER
While driving my 2025 Honda Civic at normal highway speed, a small rock struck the windshield and caused an immediate crack that spread rapidly across the glass. The impact was minor and would not typically result in such extensive damage on other vehicles I’ve owned. The vehicle is equipped with Honda Sensing, requiring OEM glass and camera calibration, but the windshield is on national backorder, leaving me without a safe and properly functioning windshield. I am concerned that the windshield glass on this model may be unusually fragile or thinner than industry norms, resulting in an unsafe condition where small road debris causes significant cracks, obstructing visibility and disabling advanced driver assistance systems. Other Honda Civic owners have reported similar issues online, suggesting a potential design or material defect.

- #11671348July 5, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The vehicle unexpectedly began accelerating from a creep with no accelerator input. Acceleration ceased immediately as soon a the brake pedal was touched. No actual braking was required--simply a touch on the pedal. Acceleration was as if the accelerator pedal had been pressed about 1/4 down. It lasted about 1.5 seconds from initiation to touching the brake pedal. The pavement was not on a grade but was substantially level. This is the 3rd or 4th such incident in the last few months. In the other incidents I was unsure if it was my imagination or some unrelated factor like grade. In previous incidents I had been about to accelerate in any case, and pressing the accelerator overtook it. In this incident, the car was navigating a parking lot, having just pulled out of the parking space and moved 50-100 ft. The car was moving in "creep" mode, i.e., the EV system simulating the creep of an automatic transmission (ca 0-4 mph). My impression is that each incident occured not long after restarting the car, though I am not fully certain of this. In this occurence there was one passenger; in all previous occurences there was no passengers. In all occurences, the Cruise Control system was on but not engaged. The "driving style" was set for Normal, as opposed to Sport or Eco. No alerts or unexpected lights were observed on the instrument panel. For the latest incident, the driver's floor mat was checked and found to be properly secured and well clear of the accelerator pedal. The car's last (and only) service was the normal Honda "A1" maintenance in May 2025 at ~11000 miles. Service was done at a Honda shop, so any firmware should be current to that date. The shop was not notified of the acceleration issue at that time. The Honda shop has been notified today (July 5).

- #11663074May 27, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On 5/20/25 while pulling out of my house's driveway I saw a warning on my dashboard that the brakes were malfunctioning, that it was unsafe to continue driving, and to stop as soon as possible. The brakes were soft and I could feel and hear a grinding noise when I stepped on the brake. I returned the car to the driveway. The vehicle was towed the same day to the dealer for service. The car was repaired on 5/23/25. The repair invoice states: "Electric brake control internal circuit malfunction...brake hold simulator not pluging...replaced simulator set (part#:01469-T61-A02). Car was tested after repairs." (Purchased on 4/4/25.)

The paint chips off and scratches too easily which is apparently known by others. The lack of paint can cause issues with the environment and cause the car to rust.

While driving slowly and turning the steering wheel, I hear a crackling or popping sound, similar to a “crunch” or “creaking” noise. The sound seems to come from the front and rear area, especially noticeable during low-speed turns (like parking). After I check with Honda dealer they replace Front strut bearing but after replace it. It still making noise.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Civic. The contact purchased the vehicle with a manual transmission and stated that the vehicle came equipped with aluminum clutch, brake, and accelerator pedals. The contact stated that during inclement, wet weather, his foot was constantly slipping off the pedals due to the slick aluminum material on the pedals. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was acknowledged; however, the dealer could not offer any assistance because there were no replacement pedals for the vehicle model. Upon investigation, the contact discovered a private company that made rubber pedals for the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the issue but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The contact took the customized pedals to the dealer, and the pedals were installed for free. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

- #11653989April 10, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
On [XXX], at about 3,500 miles, the subwoofer speakers in my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sport Touring began rattling persistently at moderate volume (14-15), disrupting the entire audio system. The component malfunctioned, no ‘failure’ in the traditional sense, but it renders the sound distorted and unusable, far from the advertised premium sound quality on Honda’s website. It’s still in the vehicle, available for inspection if requested. This doesn’t directly risk physical safety, no crash or injury, but it severely impairs the driving experience, as the audio system is a key feature I rely on, now reduced to a constant, irritating rattle. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed on all the other vehicles of the same model and trim at the dealership where I bought it, Honda mall of Georgia in Buford, GA. I took it in for repairs twice, first on March 25, then again on April 2, and it spent 7 days in the shop total. Both times, the rattling persisted unchanged. The service team acknowledged it’s a model-wide defect affecting other Civics of this trim, yet no effective fix was applied. The manufacturer’s regional representative inspected it indirectly through the dealership and declared the rattling ‘normal,’ refusing further action. The service manager promised an engineer would investigate, but that never happened. There were no warning lamps or messages prior, just the sudden onset of the subwoofer speakers on the rear deck rattling on [XXX] with no earlier symptoms. It’s been consistent since, worsening the audio with every use. The dealership’s confirmation of a widespread issue, paired with the manufacturer’s dismissal, points to a design and quality control flaw they won’t address. This isn’t a one-off; it’s a systemic problem ruining a core feature that’s been happening for a decade now with the top tier trims of Honda civics. I request an investigation into Honda on why it hasn’t rectified this issue when Honda promotes “premium sound”. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

- #11653757April 9, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
I've previously reported the CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and RDMS (Road Departure Mitigation System) warning messages that have been appearing too frequently. Today is the day it finally happened, my wife was driving on the highway when auto cruise control with lane keep assist set at 66 on the passing lane, with a truck to the right. Halfway passing the truck on auto cruise control with lane keep assist, our Honda suddenly automatically braked (went from 66mph to ~56mph, there were no vehicles in front of her). She urgently took back control and sped up as the warning lights flashed (collision mitigation braking system problem - 60mph and road departure mitigation system - 58mph, pictures attached) and the driving assist features that were originally on all became disabled. All of this happened at about the same time in a manner of ~3 seconds. She was lucky that no one was behind her at that moment, and she did not get into an accident or worse! Honda has done nothing to fix this issue, and we have already taken the vehicle to the dealership's service 3 times already. Please expand the investigation to ALL Honda vehicles that uses their Driver Assistance System including models of newer years! This is really dangerous!! I've included photos of many of the previous times the error/warning message has appeared, and I've included the photo of the error/warning message that appeared right after incident occurred today. These error/warning messages has come up at least over 50+ times now since I've owned this car.
