SummaryRear View Camera Guidelines Not Present at Times Condition Some customers may report that the Rear View Camera (RVC) guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again.

SummaryMalfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Light On, Reduced Power Mode, DTC Set, Poor Performance/Shifts In rare cases, some customers may comment that the malfunction indicator lamp is on, poor performance and reduced power mode on. Technicians may find DTC P0641 or various others set. Not all of the effects listed may be experienced. However, the different effects and driver notifications may be caused by one of the wires in the ECM harness being chafed or cut. Due to the cause of the condition, and the positions of the wires in the harness, it is unlikely that more than one circuit will be affected by the condition. This condition may be caused by the ECM wiring harness rubbing on the ECM bracket. The harness may have chafing or damage to the wires. Contact with the edge of the bracket may result in a rub-through of the wires within that harness.

SummaryInformation on Chassis Control Module (CCM) Receives Invalid Data and Sets DTC U0422 The Technician may find DTCs U0422 set. The Technician may also find the following DTCs set. U1534 U1538 Information Based on analysis with the BCM team, during vehicle startup (on occasion) the PEPS module arbitration along with high bus traffic leads to the BCM setting the door open switch virtual device availability (VDA) to unavailable. The BCM does not update the VDA back to Available until the door switch changes state (this signal is event based as opposed to periodic). The ICCM sets the U0422 DTC after 1 second of either the door ajar VDA or door open VDA being unavailable. Correction Ignore CCM U0422 DTC (no service necessary) unless it is a current/active code or is accompanied by associated BCM faults U1534 or U1538.
