2018 Ford F-150. While starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine bay. There is no warning light illuminated on the dash. It mostly occurs while starting the vehicle, and after the vehicle had been turned off for more than an hour. I have been informed through my mechanic that it is cam phaser failure and needed to be replaced. I have been checking regularly for and recall.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon attempting to enter the vehicle, he became aware that the driver's side door latch failed to secure the door closed. The door-ajar warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the door actuator. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure only occurred during extremely cold temperatures; however, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the door latch assembly. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 57,000.

My 2018 F150 XLT had the low brake fluid light and message come across my onboard computer as I was driving. When I went to stop my truck to check my brake fluid level, my brake pedal went to the floor and slowly my truck came to a stop. Luckily, I did not collide with anything and was close to a store. I then bought more brake fluid because as it said, it was low, and was. I then proceeded to drive again, and the same thing happened within minutes, and then I checked under the truck for leaking brake fluid. There was none at this point I had no choice but to have my truck trailered to my home by my mechanic where he inspected my brake system, and then he proceeded to tell me that the rear seal on the brake master cylinder most likely blew out and all my brake fluid was leaking into my brake booster. My mechanic did some research and come to find out that this was a problem with Ford f150’s matching my year. There is a recall for this exact problem on 2018 F150’s but I did call the dealership and they proceeded to tell me that there was no recall on my truck. As more research was done come to find out that the recall was only on the F150’s that had a bigger motor than mine. I don’t understand why my truck does not have a recall because the brake master cylinders are the same and I could’ve been in a serious car accident and hurt myself or my family if there was a vehicle in front of me when my brakes failed. This being said, I don’t understand How my truck does not have a recall and that’s why I am writing this complaint today. Please advise thank you.

The 10-speed transmission in my 2018 Ford F-150 shifts erratically. Traveling in 10th gear the transmission essentially de-rates (loss of power and speed) and the information panel displays the transmission dropping out of 10th gear to 1st gear (Flashes the Wrench Symbol to See Manual) but doesn't actually shift. It takes several seconds for the transmission to determine what gear to go to and finally it ends up shifting into 5th - 7th gear and shifting begins to be normal for a time. To be clear this "Wrench - See Manual" symbol is not present in the manual itself. Additionally, upon the next cycle power (Turn Vehicle Off and On) the Wrench symbol goes away and there is no check engine light, Fault Codes that can be seen by plugging into the OBD2 connector. It was only until I brought it into the Ford Dealership that they were able to plug into the transmission to obtain stored faulted codes. This is a huge safety concern for myself and passengers. Pulling out onto highways and crossing intersections have become increasing dangerous when my truck doesn’t shift and essentially stalls in the middle of oncoming and crossing traffic. This is a known concern with these transmissions and the service bulletins issued by ford to “fix” these problems have not done so. This truck and its faulty transmission is a danger to my family and others on the roadway and needs to be fixed. Does someone need to lose their life or lives before this is fixed? These erratic shifts first started late December when the temperatures started to drop below 20 degree F and as low as 30 degree F below zero in the Midwest (WI, IA, IL & MN). I attributed the transmission shift issues to be temperature related and not the transmission itself. I was also being told it's just the way the adaptive transmission works with temperatures and how the driver drives. My judge was that this erratic shifting was not normal and prompted me to bring it into the Ford Dealer.

I know there has been a lot of reported issues with Ford's 10R80 transmission. At 73,000 miles my wrench light came on due to a powertrain issue. When the wrench light came on it wasn't shifting correct and it was slipping thankfully I was in my neighborhood and not on the highway. I used my mechanical breakdown insurance and my transmission was replaced with a brand new one. At 75,000 miles roughly 2,000 miles on the new transmission that was installed by Mac Haik's Southway Ford in San Antonio Texas the transmission popped while driving on [XXX]. When the popping happened I was unable to accelerate since it didn't want to shift properly. I had to stop at a gas station and the transmission was leaking fluid after the pop. I then got the truck back to Mac Haik's Southway Ford since the transmission is under warranty. When the transmission popped on the highway and not wanting to shift properly was a serious safety concern. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I experience hard upshifts and downshifts between gears 1,3,7. This causes me to thrust forward without notice and nearly collide with other vehicles. The truck will also act as if it is searching for gears which causes it to stall in the middle of ongoing or oncoming traffic. I have taken the vehicle to both an independent transmission company and a Ford dealership. Both have arrived at the same conclusion which is that I have a faulty transmission that was not properly inspected by Ford upon original installation. In order to possibly fix the problem, the transmission will need to be replaced or conduct an overhaul of parts. I have also sent several letters to Ford and they have responded with minimal concern or care for the issue.

Vehicle continues to slip with the transmission and also lose power. I took it to FORD to get it checked out, and they provided the code of p07f7. From what I've read online, this isn't the first time this has happened and their transmission are very faulty. The vehicle will downshift from whichever gear to 1st, and nearly causing multiple wrecks. The wrench light is the only thing that will come on to notify of the problem.

Rear window is held in place with a piece of trim, which is held in place by double-sided tape. It is a safety issue as the window can become dislodged and injured occupants. Ford is aware of this as the Ford company Refuses to fix this on many of the forum websites.. this has been going on since 2015. It is also a safety issue as anyone can easily push the window open with their hand, and could access the vehicle to steal it, or to injure the occupants. Based on the few forums that I looked up under Google, there are hundreds of vehicles like this, and probably tens of thousands. Ford has failed to issue and fails to repair the window as they say it’s a piece of trim although the trim is what holds in the window. Essentially a few small pieces of tape hold the window in and this should’ve never been built like this. I’m counting on nhtsa to do a full investigation and protect me and my family.
