ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:FUEL GAUGE
There is an open recall that is unrepaired on the door but my problem is same as thousands of customers reporting a fuel issue to Ford. I spoke to Ford and the case manager agreed that it's so many customers calling on the Ford Escape fuel consumption issue and there should be a recall issued to fix whatever is causing it. My car had 13,000 miles on it used and I just made my second car payment. I began that week noticing something is not right. I hear a ticking at times in the engine, My MPG number on dashboard is rapidly flipping between random numbers from 99.9 MPG, down to 10 MPG and then 75 MPG and then 6 MPG and ect. I filled up and should have had 249 miles till empty and I got 147 miles before filling up again. Ford has recalls on 2021 Ford escapes for high pressured fuel injectors but only a customer satisfaction on my VIN. Now Ford said a code that alerts them my heating element is throwing a code, my USB charging ports are now throwing a code and stopped working. This is not normal. Why is this 2021 not recalled to replace injectors or whatever is the problem but other 2021 escapes are. Recall this before it breaks down and people owe like 20,000 left and no car. POWER TRAIN
Transmission got stuck in 6th gear doing 80 miles per hour on the highway. Was unable to upshift or downshift. Had to switch driving modes for vehicle to begin downshifting. Also experienced getting stuck in certain gears and very rough shifting in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. No warning lights were presebt and according ti the dealer no codes were present on the transmission either. Components that failed included the torque converter, valve body, and clutch. Dealer confirmed that the transmission was having problems and rebuilt it under warranty at 48,000 miles. However I came in a 30,000 miles for recommended service as I was getting rough shifting and requested a flush and was told it was lifetime fluid for the 8 speed transmissions. At 48,000 it got stuck and almost caused accidents hence this report. Ally protect processed the insurance claim for what Ford refused to cover, only a small cost incurred on my part for the rental. The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated while reversing and depressing the accelerator pedal, there was an abnormal moaning sound coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was not provided. The contact stated that the rear caliper spring clips and the rear caliper pin bushing were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to TSB: 23-2308 (Moaning Noise When in Reverse; in cold weather and/or high humidity); however, the vehicle was not included in the TSB. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

My 2024 Ford Scape is vibrating shaking to bad on driving at any speed, as well turn off in middle of road after I stoped. I had brought to the dealer shop unssuccessfull because they dont want take care of my car, they said it was caused because I did not let the car get warm enought, but I let the car on 20 min before drive. My car have only 3,500 miles only.

1. The Sunroof/Moonroof overhead fabric lining fell off the tracks when moving back, yes. 2. My safety was put at risk from the lining falling off the tracks and nearly completely covering my eyes and face while driving, which also puts the safety of others at risk. 3. I have heard numerous people and Ford Technicians noting that this is a common issue of the sunroof/moonroofs with other similar models. 4. It was completely inspected before financing at a dealership. 5. No prior symptoms or lights, I just tried to use my moonroof while driving on the highway a week ago and was nearly blinded

In January 2024 vehicle check engine light came on and took to Autozone to check error code. It came back as a vapor canister purge valve. There are strong smells of gasoline, or rotten eggs. Vehicle has 52k miles and mpg has decreased as well last week. Reaching out to ford dealer but currently have received no recalls.

The voice assistance button and map are not working on my car. The problem started on [XXX]. This is used to control my phone because Ohio is hands-free and I cannot use my phone while driving. The map is not working. Also. The dealer could not fix the problem and for customer care could not fix the problem. They said it would not be fixed until the end of the year. It is now 2025 and they still have not fixed the problem. They do not consider this a recall and I don't understand why. The SUV when driving about 45 MPH and go to place the brakes the car shakes and when you back up it is a real loud high Shril sound took it to Ford and they wont return the car I can not take anymore I am tired I have had problems since I first purchase the ford suv I am disgusted fuel injections transmission back breaks problems I want to return the car please contact me [XXX] [XXX] Note: they supposedly fixed the problems but there is still fuel injection leakages and transmissions and back brake assistance problems still to this day ford has not fixed the problems and allowing me to drive on the road with a unsafe car and endangering others/children on the road Back in 2020 there was a recall on this car and the dealership apparently did not fix the problems sold me this car 2022 july bad brakes, transmissions, fuel injections problems and seat belts for child are bad the car shakes One example in July 2023 the car suddenly stopped and shut off luckily I was slowing down at a red light I expressed this to the ford dealership in falls church va and they just shrugged me off INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but failure code could not be retrieved, and the cause of the failure was not yet determined. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While driving on an interstate, the Instrument cluster / digital gauge cluster screen behind my steering wheel turned off. I was driving with my adaptive cruise control on when all of a sudden I see the screen go black and I was no longer able to see how fast the car was going, the engine temperature, or how much fuel I had, as well as all of the other metrics on that dashboard. The car never lost power, because the entertainment screen in the middle of my dash remained on and responsive during the short period of time that my instrument cluster screen was off, and I never lost power steering. Instinctively, I pressed on the break pedal and pulled off of the road onto the shoulder, so I’m not sure if the cruise control would have stayed on. After a few minutes on the shoulder, the instrument cluster screen turned back on, not quite like it does when you turn on the car, but it flashed a bunch of the warning lights and slowly came back to normal. I was able to drive my car safely and without another incident back home, however I am very concerned about this happening again. There were no warning lights, signals, or sounds before this happened. Driving on any road, weather it’s a highway or an interstate, it is very important to be able to see how fast you are traveling for the safety of yourself, your children, and the other drivers. There is a popular recall among this same vehicle type, however mine was not included in the previous recall even though it just repeated the same problem the other ford escapes were having. My local dealership is not taking this problem seriously, and I am very concerned.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH on a high windy day, the vehicle failed to resist the wind, was being pushed, and nearly became uncontrollable. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on a high windy day, and the contact felt that the vehicle was hydroplaning. The contact stated that the failure had recurred while driving on a bridge. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle failed to resist a sudden wind gust and was pushed into another lane. The contact was able to immediately steer the vehicle back into the intended lane. The contact stated that the failure had recurred several times while driving on high and lower windy days, and the contact had noticed that the vehicle became easier to control upon decelerating. The contact stated that other passengers in the vehicle, including her young son and her husband had noticed the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer informed the contact that a Ford engineer would inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

ENGINE
On or about [XXX] I was driving on the highway and the traffic was slowed down. Once the traffic speed picked back up I noticed the maintenance symbol light up. I could not go any faster than 50 mph. I immediately went and got and oil change. Once I paid for the service the technician told me that I had a stripped oil pan. He said that I needed to check it out. The Ford Escape drove without a problem for about 2 weeks then the check engine light came on [XXX]. I made and appointment with Pep boys. The next morning 1/19 as I started the car the check engine light was on. I took the car to pep boys and parked to wait for appointment time. I turned the car off and waited for about 5 minutes and started the car back up and the check engine light did not come back on. I told the technician that my check engine light was on but now it is not. So he could not do a diagnostic on it. He told me that my oil pan would be in until the next day 1/20. 1/20/25 the next morning I took my Ford Escape to get the oil pan changed. While on the way the check engine light was still off. So as I get to the pep boys I tell them that my check engine light is back on. They did the repair for the change of the oil pan and diagnosed a DTC p3402 ( Cylinders 1 Deactivation/ intake valve. POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Over the past 4 months the powertrain malfunction light has illuminated 4 times on random occasions. The first time it came on while I was driving home from shopping. I did not notice the light until I stalled in the intersection trying to get on to the interstate. Stopped at the Ford dealership and insisted they scan it while the light was on. They refused and kept it for 2 days to tell me there was nothing wrong. Two weeks later, I was again traveling at an average speed. The light illuminated. Stopped at Advanced Auto Parts as it was late evening and Ford was closed. They could not pull a code with the light on stating it could be electrical. Towed the car home on a trailer from 45 minutes away. Upon inspection we discovered the coolant was low, added coolant and light went away. No issues for 3 months after that. The third time it came on I was accelerating on to the interstate. The engine was still pretty cold. The car went into limp mode and struggled to accelerate to highway speed. I parked the car and the light went away after sitting for a few hours. I thought it could be the oil was low or dirty. Took vehicle for oil change at Ford and they could see the light triggering but no code. Light did not come back for about 3 weeks. Fourth time I was driving at an average speed. Light came on and I was able to take vehicle directly to Ford again. Ford scanned the car while running with the light on and got a code for throttle/pedal sensor issues. The throttle position sensor was changed in July 2023. The car is currently at Ford awaiting a diagnosis and replacement of the issue. The powertrain light illuminating is a repeated issue with this vehicle.
