There were three recalls listed on your site that are no longer active which perfectly describe what is going on with my car at the moment we have had major electrical problems with it we have had problems with the tailgate not latching and opening while driving down the road also overheating when stopped at a light all of a sudden the air conditioner starts blowing hot air and it shoots up and overheats while you're idling out of traffic light the electrical system is totally messed up I can't even begin to list everything that has gone wrong with that the lights being turned on when we're not in the car to the no key in car actually going down the road it shut down no key and we were able to get it back on again but for a minute I thought that the car was going to stop moving it seems that this model car has had these issues in the past that recalls have been put out for but nothing is active for it right now and we're experiencing what was going on in those recalls I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me my daughter drives his car to school and she has been stranded several times I don't feel that it's safe for her to drive in this condition please let me know if there's anything you can do to reinstate any of these recalls to Goodwill type extension of these recalls I don't know what to do at this point because all of this is very expensive to fix I am [XXX] she is a student I just want her to be able to drive a car that she's not going to get hurt in or be stranded someplace thank you for taking the time to look at this and I will hope to hear from you again my email is [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. There was an abnormally loud cranking sound upon starting the vehicle. While driving at highway speeds, there was a steady abnormal sound detected. The engine, traction control, low tire pressure, fuel, and oil warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, tires were inflated by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics who determined that the steering angle sensor and steering wheel module needed reprogramming, an alignment was needed. Additionally, the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), BCM (Body Control Module), and the drivers and front seat module needed to be replaced. The restraint control module, steering wheel module, and brake system had failed, and the powertrain control module (PCM) needed to be replaced. The contact was unsure if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Power steering leak(took it 3times to get it serviced), breaks(leak), transmission fluid leak(have to refill transmission fluid every week), electrical (dash board lights go off and on sometimes and do other funny stuff), back up My camera doesn’t work(car has blind spots so I need the camera to work), roof windows (work when they want), trunk door (closes by itself hitting me at closing). Check lights, tire light is on constantly and on since I bought the car, also oil light but now only sometimes since I keep putting oil and transmission fluid. And has something missing on the front windshield and sensor device of some sort And sometimes when I break I feel the vehicle wanting to go faster instead of stopping. Jerks. I took my vehicle to ford and they pretty much ignored me making me there was no solution. No reports or anything. I called several times to take my car to get serviced telling them I felt unsafe but they pretended they couldn’t here me they didn’t want to deal with me cause my vehicle was too old 2011 ford edge limited. I don’t think it’s old I need a little guidance here before I take it to the next step. Please help me fix my vehicle my insurance at the time told me it has two recalls and ford shined me off three or four times telling me no instead of helping

ABS module valves stick open resulting in low soft brake pedal. Master cylinder has been replaced and vacuum bled with problem still occurring. I feel this is a safety item and ford should stand behind this issue till the end of service life of the vehicle. the repair part is hard to find and expensive.

I have a 2011 ford edge sel the brakes are hard as a rock causing more force to be used to stop the vehicle even being driven under 5mph. This is a major saftey issue that should've been in ford's previous recall. The vehicle was manufactured at the Oakville plant in Canada which was ford's recalled vehicles. I contacted ford and they informed me it was vin specific which my vehicle wasn't covered by the recall but yet it's having the same issues as the others that were recalled from the same assembly facility. I was told to take it to a dealership and keep the receipts of it being fixed just incase there is a recall on the vehicle later on. I'm not the only person having issues with these issues with less then 200,000 miles on their vehicles. Ford knew there was a problem with the vehicles which they should have recalled all the ones from that assembly plant and fixed them.

My brakes are hard as a rock cause me to use more force on the brakes to stop and there is hissing coming from brake booster when I apply the brakes on my vehicle causing prolonged stopping distance called ford and they said there was no recalls on that vin which their "recalls is vin specific" yet all the vehicles use the same brake booster that is installed on this vehicle. It was hard to stop even going at low speeds under 10mph

NHTSA Request #1576215 | Ford Motor Company [XXX] I am filing a complaint as suggested by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Vehicle Safety Hotline Information Center. My 2011 Ford Edge is experiencing the same symptoms as indicated in a safety recall for failure of the backup camera, however my vehicle/equipment is not included in the recall. The camera was replaced and paid for out of pocket in 2021 due to the same issue. I requested that Ford Motor Company provide a Customer Satisfaction Program for my vehicle's back up camera. We paid $1,072.46 ($485.00 for the camera + $587.46 in labor charges) to replace the defective back up camera 1/28/2021 after the technician at Mike Marone Ford in Longmont, CO verified our concern and confirmed that the backup camera was inoperable and had failed. This repair came with a 2 year unlimited mileage parts and labor warranty. When the camera failed again in 2023, I called the same dealership to ask about the repairs and was told the warranty had expired a few months prior and there was nothing they could do other than have us pay to replace the camera again. They performed an inspection and confirmed the camera is inoperable. Shortly thereafter we received SAFETY recall notification 23S23/NHTSA Recall 23V342 for an inoperative rear camera for our 2020 Ford Explorer. I was hopeful that Ford realized the camera was defective and would replace the camera in our 2011 Ford Edge as part of that same recall, as the safety notification stated "The loss of the rear camera image while in reverse increases the risk of a crash". I called Ford Motor Company I was told by the customer service agent I spoke with, that this was a VIN specific recall notice and she could not honor the recall for 2011 Ford Edge. followed up with Ford asking them to reconsider their decision, and was told they could not overrule the initial decision. Brakes going to floor and very little stopping power. HCU failure caused by DOT3 brake fluid causing dump valve in block to stay stuck open. 2nd replacement valve from Ford and again it happened almost causing an accident. This issue is becoming to common across these HCU ford uses. This should be recalled and consumers should be advised. Ford advised that we maybe try DOT4 brake fluid and purchase another HCU. This is our 3rd one in 6 years.
