On September 3, 2026, the vehicle was being operated under normal and intended driving conditions when the Front Heavy-Duty Adjustable Track Bar suddenly and catastrophically failed and/or broke and/or snapped. A track bar is a critical safety component responsible for managing lateral axle movement and maintaining steering alignment. The instant this heavy-duty component snapped, the front axle completely shifted out of alignment, causing an immediate, total loss of steering control, and violent vehicle instability. As a direct consequence of this component's structural failure, I was unable to steer or safely control the vehicle, causing my vehicle to veer dangerously into the opposite lane and into oncoming traffic.

The sound proofing insulation on the firewall caught fire. There was a recall for sagging insulation catching fire on the EGR heat exchanger for this problem, and mine caught fire anyway. I called 911 and the Corbin KY fire department responded to the seen to confirm the fire was out.
Steering yes it is available for inspection upon request The steering becomes so out the vibration becomes so violent that you can NOT HOLD THE WHEEL you have to pull over anyone driving could be in danger including vehicles around you with how violent the steering wheel vibrates When taken for alignment was told there definitely was a problem said could be a brake caliper hanging up so we put new calipers changed ball joints shocks control arm steering geer box shocks steering dampers trac bar front end alignment & tires balanced Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone but the mechanic that aligned it No warning lights the problem started with a shimmy so we would get it aligned and check tires went on line and found and found a letter that there was a serious problem with 1994 to 2008 Dodge Rams Steering Linkage and the system on our vehicle a Y design is not capable of handling the weight of this vehicle from a article and a letter i read from Chrysler incident has been going on for some time but date below was very serious

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that it was difficult to shift the gear shifter out of park(P). The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was discovered that the vehicle could be shifted out of park(P) without depressing the brake pedal. The contact was informed that the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) had failed. The contact researched the failure and stated that millions of similar vehicles were included in a recall for the BTSI; however, the year and VIN were not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 59,242.

I bought my 2007.5 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7L cummins in 2020 and had Commercial Tire install 4 Brand new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT and all was great until it wasn't. We mainly drive our pickup local to where we live and the highway speeds are 55mph. In 2025 April I had the front end completely rebuilt and rotated the tires. My son found a dirtbike that was about 3.5 hours away which included freeway driving and as soon as we hit 70mph for about 15 miles I started feeling a vibration it was fairly light at first and on our return trip it steadily got worse. We were about 15 to 20 miles from home and the vibration and bouncing feeling got so bad that we had to slow down to 40 to 45 mph because it was shaking so bad it made you dizzy. I stopped several times to look over the pickup and couldn't figure out what was causing the severe vibration/bouncing. I made it a few more miles and stopped to look over my pickup and that's when I noticed that the drivers front tire was extremely wavy and the tread are was separating. I ended up having to limp it home (at 25mph) the rest of the way on the backroads so I could keep the speed down and keep from killing me or my family or other people on the road these tires have around 15k miles on them. Now I am going to have to replace all 4 because they are unsafe. These tires are mounted on OEM wheels. Size are LT275/70R17 I run Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires on all 3 of my vehicles and now I'm very concerned about those tires as well. I'm going to have to replace the tires on my wife's vehicle as well because I don't want to risk my wife and kids getting into a accident. I hope something is done to remedy this problem because I don't have 4 thousand dollars to replace these defective tires on all my vehicles.
