My car has an extremely bad rough idle. I’ve had an alignment done, new tires, new spark plugs. I’ve done so much work to this car. I have done some extremely deep research and it is a VERY common issue in the 2013 Dodge dart. One thing I also read, is it could be caused due to all of the ground point nuts being painted over, not creating a strong circuit for the ground. That should be a recall because I cannot physically replace all of those nuts. If that’s not the issue, there needs to be an investigation to figure out why this car feels like it will stall out, or I’m going to lose a tire going 65 on the interstate. Something isn’t right with this car and the dealership needs to diagnose it for free knowing it’s such a common issue! I have a very trusted, fully certified mechanic, he has looked at my car, and he is stumped too. No one can figure this out

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Key fob gets stuck in the ignition. I have to set in the car for about 10 minutes before it will release. I did take to have looked at and the ignition switch and fob was replaced. However, still doing the same thing. As I look on You Tube, I am not the only one having this problem with this car. I have been dealing with this issue and just finding out I can put in a complaint. I have attached copy of the receipt.

I have a few problems to be addressed because this car have a real safety issue. One issue been happening was car sometimes doesn’t start. This problem maybe stalling starting may delay in cases of personally emergency’s. Second, I got a recall letter having emissions issues? During this recall letter I receive my inspection sticker was due, then I got a rejected sticker because it did failed emissions as noticed. I tried getting issue resolve at few of the dodge dealers nearby 3 places that’s the closest which were like almost an hour away, but there were a backlog of part not available? Since those two issues I had and having time to try getting these recalls and issue resolved, dealer said not much of an issue and couldn’t find much issues? Told the dealer I had recall and starter issues also with no check engine light on. The dealer did a diagnose on the car but couldn’t find actual problem but wanted to charge me on so much other things like spark plugs change before they can find the actual issue. I paid for the diagnose about 200+ out of pocket. Came to find out they diagnosed but now check engine light is ON now and I looked under hood myself found they didn’t reconnect the engine coil to spark plug, maybe check and forget to reconnect? I reconnected myself and then no check engine lights. I had to check myself why can’t I start and then check fuse box under hood, found relay was damaged, shorted out reason why car had issues starting. This is after I changed the battery which was problem wasn’t the reason couldn’t start. I did my research on this deeply cause now I have a much bigger issue, which I was losing my brake lines. I almost got into an accident but luckily still have E-brakes. I believe it’s the brake line front driver started leaking now. On top of brake issue, no brake lights came on still.I checked for any recalls or any updates and found there were the same or typical issues? I did checked my car Vin # and it said “0 unrepaired on my vehicle”?

The service Transmisson lite came on and then it was flashing gear not available and put in N, R, D. but was stuck in N while i was driving on the interstate at 70MPH, I almost got ran over trying to get off the road. The TCM was already replaced. I had replaced the SDU and still does the same thing. This happens often. The car will sit for a while and then it will do it again. It will also rev up like up press the gas pedal down but not touching it, this will happen while setting or after I put it in drive. The Bluetooth isn't working, it will work if the battery is unplugged but then after a day or 2 it stops. I have replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils and it still losses power occasionally. The back up camera doesn't work sometimes also the air condition and the air will come on but shows that it's off. This car is a piece of garbage, and dealers will just keep selling it even though they know it has a lot of issues that they can't seem to fix. Most of the people in the forums all having the same issues that never get fixed! This car needs a total RECALL.

POWER TRAIN
The TCM needed to be replaced, it would flash service transmission on the dash and then say "shift into neutral and then drive or reverse" when attempting to shift it says "gear not available." There is a recall on other cars for this exact reason but my vin number was not included. It would lock up in the middle of the road or when in park. It endangered not only my life but also any passengers. there were no symptoms prior and it started around June 6th, 2024. After replacing the TCM my car had to go into a full sleep cycle before the message would stop appearing. The vehicle was serviced at Midway Auto in Kearney Nebraska, where they also replaced my shifting cable bushing due to another recall that did affect my vin number at the time that it started displaying the message. The dealership has already replaced the TCM and expects me to pay for it even though this is a well know common issue in these cars, so we'll know in fact that there is its own recall that for some reason does not apply to my specific vehicle and I would like to know why, especially if it is a manufactured defect.

The contact stated that while attempting to shift into drive(D), the gear shifter failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. I have a back up camera as original equipment with the vehicle. For several years now, the camera will intermittently work. Many times, the camera comes on then quickly goes out. I have no picture to assist me when backing out of the driveway, the parking spot, or other situations. I need to crane my head, neck and body around to make sure the way is clear. I use the mirrors and even had my passenger get out of the car and assist in backing out of a parking spot. When I took the car to the dealership, I was told I would need to buy a new camera which costs hundreds of dollars. This week I found out there is a recall on Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles regarding the back up camera. However it does not cover the year of my vehicle which is 2015. I am wondering why my vehicle is not included. IS it because those model years are more likely not to be operating on the road??? Is it not still a safety issue? Please let me know what I can do. I like my car and it isn't junk yet.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V293000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the vehicle was repaired under the recall. The contact stated that 3 weeks after the recall repair was performed; the vehicle failed to shift into park(P). The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with shifter cable failure. The dealer informed the contact that the repair would be out-of-pocket to replace the shifter cable. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that it seemed as if the vehicle had not been repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 179,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that after releasing the parking brake, the rear passenger’s side brake vault release failed to return to its original position. The contact had to release the brake manually by going underneath the vehicle and using a crowbar. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the actuator had seized, and the caliper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V124000 (Parking Brake) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

Automatic transmission shifter cable bushing on transmission side failed for the second time. This is a recalled item for this make and model. It was repaired in 2019 but has failed again. Dealer told me they would not repair again. It’s obvious the material they use to make the bushing are prematurely failing do to heat.

The car keeps stalling and several scans, thousands into repairs to include the dealership itself. I’m convinced that it’s one of the recalls re: power train and engine keeps randomly stalling. This is a huge safety concern that will result in an accident. It happens after start up, at stop lights and signs And randomly throughout driving. I don’t feel safe and I’m taking it back to the dealership to do the job right .

I have a warning light on my car for P1065 and P1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes. This causes the car to shake and slow down suddenly in the middle of the road. The car stops to shake only when I shut it off and turn it back on right away. Another issue is that my car key get stuck in the ignition sometimes after shutting it ofand I have to wait a few seconds for the key to come off or press the button on the gearshift handle a few times to make it come out. I wonder if this is related to the Transmission Shift Cable Bushing safety recall repair that was done a few years ago on dodge dart vehicles Lastly, I have been getting the "parking light out" warning messages on my car dashboard but all the light appears to be working fine. I have looked up these issues online and they appear to be common problems faced by Dodge Dart owners.

The car has a mind of its own but now it's a constant problem. I will be trying to go and it's like it shift to nuetural and I loose all powers so I keep pushing gas tell it does something. so i don't cause a accident. When this happens the middle screen where shows speed and stuff like reboots . It will also sometimes say gear not availiable. There is no warning lights on. I try not to drive unless I have to because it dangerous if the. Car does not give trouble backing our of my house it will do fine. And if it has trouble backing out of driveway it won't stop loosing power any time I have to stop or slow down. I did have 1 recall done last year when I left dealer ship it worked fine for like 7 days and back to doing the same thing. The vechicle is availiable for inspection I'm going to take it back to dodge because it's going to kill me and others.

POWER TRAIN, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
On January 1, 2024 I was getting in my car to go to work. My car would not shift into drive, or reverse. It said "gear not available" After about 30 minutes, it finally went into drive. While driving to work, my car shifting into neutral on it's own. I took my car to a local transmission shop where they said it was the dual clutch that needed to be replaced. SO it was replaced. The issue still persisted and they said it was the hydraulic actuator. I took it to my local Dodge dealership where they said it the TCM needed replaced. So that was replaced. They are now saying it is the hydraulic actuator and odd shift actuator. My car is still at the local Dodge dealership because I can not afford the extra $8000 to fix it. I had no codes show up before January 1, 2024. I have reached out to Dodge and Stellantis about all of the issues and trying to receive financial help. There were recalls in 2015-2016 for the TCM.

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag warning light was illuminated while driving. The contact stated that after the first failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure had continued intermittently over the years; however, the warning light had remained illuminated while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

SERVICE BRAKES
The brake booster failed mid drive leaving us without any braking assist, which means to stop the car, it took a lot longer to come to a stop which is a significant safety concern. There is a loud hissing noise only when applying the break. You can find air being blown out of the booster when you press the pedal. Brake assist is completely gone, so even keeping the car stopped while in drive requires significant pressure. Communicated with a local dodge dealership and they weren’t able to give an answer on the issue. This car shows that it was manufactured 03/15 There was a previous recall for this same model, but a year earlier. There does feel as if there is oil on the plunger of the booster. This was part of the previous recall. And as it says in the previous recall, there are no parts available to repair this. Recall: [XXX] Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 27, 2012 to January 23, 2014 and equipped with either a 2.0L or 2.4L engine. In affected vehicles, engine oil from the vacuum pump may seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster. Recall consequence Internal damage to brake booster could result in a loss of brake assist, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash. Recall action Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake booster grommet for the presence of oil. If no oil is found, the vacuum tube assembly will be replaced. If oil is found, the vacuum pump, vacuum tube assembly, brake booster and master cylinder will be replaced. Parts are not currently available to remedy the vehicles. Owners will be sent an interim notification and then will be sent a second notice when remedy parts are available. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
