VISIBILITY/WIPER
I am filing a formal complaint regarding a premature, dangerous failure of the AC evaporator core on my 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T. The vehicle has only 22,000 original miles. An authorized service facility diagnosed the issue and confirmed that the evaporator core has suffered a complete internal failure and leak. This component is supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, and its premature failure at such low mileage points to a severe manufacturing, design, or material defect by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA/Stellantis).This defect presents two distinct, immediate safety hazards to vehicle occupants:SEVERE VISIBILITY HAZARD / DEFROST FAILURE: Because the AC evaporator removes moisture from the cabin air, its total failure means the vehicle's defroster can no longer adequately clear the windshield. During humid or rainy conditions, the windshield suddenly, heavily, and completely fogs over, severely obstructing the driver's visibility. This creates an immediate risk of a collision as the driver is suddenly blinded while traveling at highway speeds, unable to clear the glass.TOXIC CHEMICAL EXPOSURE: Because the evaporator core is located directly inside the HVAC air box, the active leak causes chemical refrigerant (R-1234yf) and atomized compressor oil mist to blow directly through the climate control vents into the sealed passenger cabin. Occupants are forced to breathe in these chemical vapors, causing physical discomfort, headaches, and respiratory irritation. This is a well-documented failure pattern among late-model Dodge Challengers, and I urge the NHTSA to investigate this equipment defect before it results in a visibility-related crash or prolonged chemical exposure injuries. I request that a formal defect investigation be launched, and that FCA be forced to issue a safety recall to protect consumers from the extreme out-of-pocket costs and safety risks associated with this defective HVAC component.

My vehicle was parked in the driveway with a car cover over it and it caught on fire. The fire appeared to have started by the driver side headlight area and quickly ignited and burnt the whole front end of the car. The fire department showed up to put the fire out and they did not see any foul play. Surveillance camera shows the car catching on fire on it own without anyone near it. The last time it was driven it was a week ago. No after market parts in the car either, it’s all stock with very low miles or 12K.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The factory-installed Uconnect infotainment system in my 2019 Dodge Challenger intermittently malfunctions by remaining stuck on the rearview camera display after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse and into drive or park. The rearview camera image does not disengage as designed and continues to display randomly during normal forward driving. This appears to be a failure of the Uconnect radio/software system rather than the camera itself. The issue occurs unpredictably and has happened multiple times without warning. Restarting the vehicle is sometimes required to restore normal screen function. This malfunction creates a safety hazard because the display obstructs access to navigation, climate controls, and other critical vehicle information while driving forward, causing driver distraction and reduced situational awareness. Backup cameras are federally mandated safety equipment, and failure of the system to disengage properly interferes with safe vehicle operation. Additionally, I am medically light-sensitive due to chronic migraines. When the rearview camera display remains active unexpectedly, the bright and high-contrast screen significantly worsens my symptoms, increasing pain, visual discomfort, and distraction while driving. This exacerbates the safety risk and makes the malfunction an extreme concern for me during vehicle operation. No warning lights or messages appear prior to or during the malfunction. The problem has not yet been repaired. The vehicle and system remain available for inspection upon request. This failure mode matches known Dodge/Stellantis rearview camera and Uconnect software defects reported on similar model-year vehicles, although my VIN is not currently included in an active recall.

BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while reversing, the back-over prevention camera screen displayed a blue screen. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the back-over prevention camera was still enabled. The contact stated that the back-over prevention camera was displayed in real time. In addition, the contact stated that while driving forward, the image froze. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact referenced an unknown recall which had a similar failure description; however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The contact was informed that there were no unrepaired recalls on the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The VIN was not provided.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SUSPENSION
Electrical system is currently failing. I was informed that I need a PDC wiring kit to replace the fuse box and the entire vehicle must be rewired. USB Charging ports DO NOT WORK. Cigarette lighter ports to charge cellular devices do not work. Every time the service department at the dealership fixed a component to repair the radio a fuse was blown in another area of the vehicle in 2024. Currently 2025, I was told that the Radio lost connection with amplifier. The screen of the radio is on. It is changing from station to station and there is no sound. The bluetooth connects to my phone but there is no sound. The display is working for Sirius XM Radio. The amplifier was replaced 2x's although there was nothing wrong with it. The radio was replaced although there was nothing wrong with it. Vehicle consistently lacks power, car drags when you switch lanes and accelerate, headlights were not working and replaced 3 times. I almost flew over a cliff because it was pitch black. I could not see the road in front of me. Door panel control was replaced because windows were stuck rolled down/rolled up. Keypad would not work to unlock the door. I had to climb into the car from the passenger side of the vehicle because the driver's side door was locking me out of the car. Batteries in keypads were replaced. Driver's side door was locking me inside of the car. I was forced to climb over the center console to get out of the car through the passenger side. I had issues with the shocks & struts. The Michelin tires that came with the vehicles are cheap [XXX]. I replaced the tires with all-weather tires and consistently rotated them during oil changes. UCONNECT RADIO ISSUES occurred numerous times in my Black 2017 Dodge Challenger GT MODEL with leather interior and sunroof as well VIN ending [XXX]. I filed numerous complaints with Dodge customer service as well as UCONNECT. Cases # [XXX] opened with Stellantis and the FCA case [XXX]. Both are uncooperative! ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, SUSPENSION
I owned a 2017 Dodge Challenger which had electrical issues and a defective Uconnect radio system. A few months after purchasing the 2019 Dodge Challenger, I experienced electrical issues. The electric key system failed locking me outside of the vehicle while pumping gas. I had to enter the vehicle from the passenger side door. When I tried to exit the vehicle, I could not open the door. I had to climb over the center console to exit the vehicle from the passenger side. The key fab battery was replaced but the issue continued. The rear/front suspension failed in 2020. The westbury service department blew my alternator servicing while replacing the radiator and fixing the electrical issue with Uconnect. The driver's side window would not roll down. It was stuck down in 2021. The door panel switches were replaced. The door issue was not resolved. I randomly remained locked out of the vehicle. I complained that the heat would turn on randomly inside of the vehicle. My headlights stopped working twice and my light bulbs were replaced although the bulbs were good. I couldn't see the road in front of me at night and almost drove off of a cliff. The radio/gps/bluetooth system continuously failed ten times. The service department replaced the radio. and amplifiers twice, although they were in working condition. This did not resolve the issue. The Jamaica service department explained that the issues that have been occurring are electrical and tried replacing the fuses to fix the reoccurring issues. When I bought the car to them to fix the radio issue in 2024 my charging and USB ports stopped working. The fuse issue has since caused other safety hazards. They replaced the fuses several times and have explained that the entire electrical component "body harness wiring" must be replaced. I should not be responsible for replacing this part. When I bought the vehicle in for electrical issues while it was under warranty it should have been fixed immediately.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE
My mileage time ometer keeps jumping from 56000 to 68000 time belt. My car is fairly new. This vehicle should not be doing this. The break I use to start the car nearly starts it. The breaks is not connected to the fuel pump correctly.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I leased this car there purchased it. Never had any accident or anything in that sort. However my car start to make this metal noise when I am driving which is super loud. I took it to the dealership but they said it's not serious without doing a thorough check up. they said it's just a sound that those type cars make and it replace the metal part it cost about 10k or something like that. I never heard this sound in any type of car. The sound is very loud and I don't feel safe driving my car. Something is off and the metal sound is constant. like 2 pieces of metal rubbing into each other and they're about to break.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The vehicle's Uconnect system (which is required for most all functions including backup camera) will intermittently go black and become unresponsive. Soft and hard resets do not resolve it at first. Hard reset eventually resulted in a generic screen with numerous functions missing. Eventually after several hours the correct screen restored itself. This happens intermittently and there are hundreds of reports of this online (search for Uconnect screen black).

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
There is a loud popping sound when I start my car. It sounds as if the car is back firing. The sound has been duplicated several times. The sound does not happen every time, but it has happened well over 100 times. I have taken it into the dealership, and they claim that the sound can never be duplicated. Also, when I place my car in reverse and then drive the backup camera screen remains on in after driving forward for more than 30 seconds. This is VERY hazardous because when looking at the screen i can still see what is behind me which is a huge distraction.

ENGINE
Have had several dodge chargers and challengers and oil cooler fails too soon I believe way to expensive to fix so soon in my opinion all it takes is for someone to over torque the oil filter cap during oil changes so many times and I believe starts the problem not including how cheap looking the oil cooler seems currently have a 2019 challenger sxt awd and just noticed oil resting in the valley of the oil cooler here we go again same problem over and over again

SUSPENSION, WHEELS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I had a flat tire while driving to work and was unable to pull over for about a few thousand feet. As the tire went flat I swirled into the grass on a street without a shoulder. The tire snapped off and was not locatable. I filed a police report and called the police at time of incident. The total damage on the vehicle was under $3,000 but because the tire snapped off and damaged the firewall Dodge stated that the vehicle had to be a total loss. This was a 2019 challenger there should be no reason for a wheel to snap off like such. After visiting several Dodge chat rooms I have learned that this is very common with the challenger and needs to be addressed with a class action suit and safety recall! This happens very often to Dodge challenger consumers

WHEELS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
My 2019 Dodge Challenger wheels on the front has been wearing and tearing from the inside causing rubbing on the outside of the wheels. When I drive there is an uneven drive with the wheels wobbly going down the road. I have rotate the tires every oil change. I am afraid that this will cause an accident. There were no signs of the tire pressure lamp was on. I went to the Dodge dealership in Bessemer, Al. At no avail did the mechanic checked the wheels only to say there are no recalls on this model. How can I get someone to check

ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN
On my way to work on 9/28/23 my 2019 dodge challenger hellcat Redeye engine just shut off at 65mph. I was in the left lane by the wall on I45 heading northbound. I instantly had a loss of power steering and braking. The engine just shut off. A check engine light came on and the dash said shift I to park to start. I was successfully able to get across 4 lanes of traffic to stop on the apron between o ram and side of freeway. When I shifted to park and to try to restart it would not start. Had to be towed to dealership where upon inspection they said the motor was locked. When broken down a valve just dropped into the cylinder and jammed into the piston and cylinder wall. Pieces also damaged the head and the supercharger and dealer says starter is fried. Mopar is digging in and acting like this isn’t an issue but online there are several class actions and forums about defective valve system in these engines. Had I been a novice driver or my wife with children jn the car she would likely not been able to get off to a safe place and stalled dead in the fast lane of a very busy Houston roadway.
