I purchased a pre-owned Chevrolet Silverado Z71, 4WD, off-road, LTZ pickup truck (Model # C1500 k 1500, VIN [XXX] , NAIC # XXX) from Wally Edgar Chevrolet in Lake Orion, Michigan on 3/28/24. It has the V8 – 5.3 L gasoline engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle was, and still is, in very good condition (no scratches, dents, and a good running engine). However, on 10/29/2025 the vehicle started not being able to shift out of 1st gear. I immediately took it to Cruise Transmission in Rochester Hills, Michigan to have it evaluated. They indicated that the transmission “valve body” needed to be replaced at a cost of about $3,000. Their problem was that they couldn’t locate that part anywhere, and said it might be a month or more before it would be available! After not hearing anything for a couple of months (checking-in occasionally), I began to try to find out why that part wasn’t available. When I did a Google search on “can you sue GM if they can’t provide parts for a [XXX] vehicle”, it came back with the fact that there was a class-action lawsuit in progress for transmission issues on the 2015-2019 Chevy Silverado pickup trucks with 8-speed transmissions. When I inquired with two of the main law firms associated with the class-action lawsuit they indicated that I wasn’t a candidate for the suit because my vehicle was out of the warranty period. I indicated that I understood that, but that I wasn’t able to use my vehicle because the part wasn’t available anywhere. I also called several local dealerships to see if they could get the part. All of which indicated that they couldn’t get the part either, and also expressed their frustration with the issue. On 1/6/2026 and 1/7/2026, I spoke with Chevrolet Customer Service who indicated they didn't know when or if the part would be available. I can't afford to throw away an $18,000 vehicle!!! I have a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L engine. I received the recall notice about the loss of propulsion due to a crankshaft issue. The safety of myself, family, friends and coworkers who ride with me on an everyday basis were put at risk because of the faulty engine. I brought my truck in for an oil change in August 2025. I had the Team Chevrolet dealership in Las Vegas Nevada do a telescopic inspection to see if my particular engine had the recall issue. It was discovered the engine did have the recall issue and was kept by the dealership for roughly two and a half months. Chevrolet has confirmed this is a major issue and is affecting roughly 600,000 people. There was no sign of the issue before the telescopic inspection but since the engine has been replaced I have now had three separate issues with misfiring cylinders on the new engine. The plugs and wires have been replaced twice and has not resolved the issue. When the misfires have occurred there were error codes, check engine light notification, and engine sputtering. This again has endangered the safety of myself, family members, friends, and coworkers who ride in my truck on a daily basis. This is now going on four months of issues that keep persisting and I am very concerned that both the manufacturer Chevrolet and the Team Chevrolet dealership are not taking the proper steps in order to solve this very serious issue.

Originally the ECS message came up on the dashboard. The truck started running rough with the engine shaking and white smoke started blowing out of the exhaust. The problems started showing just as I was entering the interstate. I pulled over to the emergency lane. The truck was towed to a local dealer. They ran the diagnostic on the engine and found the #8 cylinder has no pressure and fuel was dumping into the engine. The engine had to be replaced. There was no warnings before this happened.

Not sure of exact date I believe it was right before Thanksgiving. The truck started shuttering and vibrating. It feels like we are driving on a gravel road. the manual said to change transmission fluid between 45,000 and 60,000 so we took it to the dealer. that is what we did hoping that would fix the problem. but it did not so we took it back and they kept it for 3 weeks they said no codes came up and they said the tires needed balancing so we let them do that but the problem is still there. they say there is no recall on it . we did some research and found information stating Chevy is having problems with the transmission. as of now we only have 45,608 miles on it. It is riding worse now.

Engine safety concern. Grinding and clunking while engine is running and gets worse under load or when accelerating. Have taken into dealer for service over 6 times. Recall service was performed and their fix was to change to a thicker oil but all that caused was worse fuel economy, more expensive oil changes, and the noises have become worse. Going back to dealer next week for another attempt. Have requested lemon replacement with GM but they are denying any issue.

The rear 3rd brake light above the back glass started leaking because the seal/gasket went bad. Water leaked into the cab and now the headliner has to be replace as well as that seal. I works for a glass company and this is a known problem for this year. There should be a recall or service campaign put out for this. I'm not the only one with this issue.

I am writing about my recent engine failure on my 2016 Chevy Silverado High Country. This is a 4x4 with the 6.2L motor. My engine has failed at only 66,790 miles due to the lifter issue that seems to be common with these motors. I noticed a loud ticking from my motor that was getting worse. I took it into A1 Automotive Georgetown, TX. They advised me to contact a dealership for Warranty repair or replacement as they noted it was coming from the valves. I contacted Don Hewlett Chevrolet; they advised me due to the date of the truck being made in 2016 it is no longer covered in warranty and the advisor said they do not see engines with lifter issues. I did standard service with an oil and transmission change using the recommended 0W-20W oil. The next day the ticking was very bad and turned into what I would describe as ‘jack hammer’ noises. Then I lost power while driving and the dashboard lights came on. I got towed back to A1 Auto; they drained the oil and noticed a lot of metal fragments and advised me that theck engine will need to be replaced. The engine was removed and we found the pushrod on the passenger side was sticking out to the side of the rocker arm presumably due to a lifter issue. I now have a new engine with the ‘delete kit’ to remove the 4-cylinder shutoff that has been linked to lifter failures. This has been a very unnecessary expense for something that shouldn’t happen. The motor only having 66,790 miles and I am the only owner, I have always taken very good care of it, and even use only premium gas. I have gotten all the oil changes on time and most of them have been done by the dealership at Don Hewlett. Date of ticking inspection and oil change, A1 Auto – 12/16/2025 miles 66,766 Date of failure 12/17/2025 miles 66,790 Charges: •Towing $235 •Engine replacement $14,064.90 oEngine $8,375 oLabor $3,750 oInjectors $1042 oOil, Tax, misc. $897

I own a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500, the truck currently has 51,400 miles on it. I started noticing a vibration while driving home from work that continued to get worse. After some quick online research I learned that the torque converter on the newer Chevy and GMC trucks is a weak point in their assembly. This is a very common issue and complaint for owners. The manufacturer has done nothing to resolve it or honor repairs on the defective product. My truck was one month out of the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty, they would not honor repairs because it was outside of the time window. The internal parts break up and destroy a transmission. Luckily i caught it early enough before it caused my transmission to fail while driving. I do not have the part with me. I took the truck to a shop for repairs and they did not return the defective part. No warning lights came on the dash.

2021 Silverado 19,000 miles no indication of failure at a busy intersection about to go thru intersection and engines started knocking, multiple check engine lights on. Luckily got thru the intersection and to my place of residence which was very close by. Truck was towed to Chevy dealer. Dealer found 3 bent push rods, 3 bad valves. This engine had the lifters fail completely out of the blue. Oil changed at the dealer, meticulously maintained. Dealer only replaced the faulty bank of lifters due to mileage, seriously if it was under 16,000 they would replace all of them. This is unacceptable. This truck left me almost stranded in a busy intersection, lucky I knew well enough to keep going versus getting T-boned. I just think GM needs to do something about this. Now fast forward to 41K and I'm at the dealer same symptoms except this time my warranty is running up soon and being forced into an extended warranty. There are plenty of online claims, chat rooms, posts, etc to warrant this as a safety issue.

- #11709107January 6, 2026ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), but the failure occurred. The contact was informed by the dealer that the vehicle had passed inspection, and the dealer added a higher viscosity oil, installed 6 oil fill caps, and replaced the oil filter. The contact stated that six months after the vehicle was repaired, there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the engine. The contact stopped at a gas station to refuel. Afterwards, the vehicle failed to restart, and there was smoke coming from under the hood. The contact stated that the engine had seized. The contact was at the gas station when the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to a dealer; however, no cause for the engine failure was found. The contact was informed that the sound was coming from one of the drive belts. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to another dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the abnormal sound was coming from loose bearings in the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The long block in the engine and the radiator were replaced on January 1st. The contact stated that a week after the vehicle was repaired, the vehicle failed to start. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. However, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer recharged the battery. The contact stated that shortly afterwards, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the starter had failed. The contact requested that the dealer check the ground strap, but the dealer refused. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The contact stated that the dealer would notify the manufacturer of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,469.
