Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0340 and P0341 setting at times. Technician should use normal published Service Information diagnostics. If normal Service Information diagnostics does not isolate the concern, inspect for corrosion in connector X154 located on the front cover next to the vacuum pump.

Summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for a vehicle setting both a P2635 and P018B diagnostic trouble codes. The following steps may help to determine if this is caused by a fuel pressure sensor not reading the low end of the pressure range. Technician is to make sure the engine is cold and install the Multiple Diagnostic Interface along with Global Diagnostic System 2. Navigate to fuel system depressurize and at engine idle depressurize the fuel system. The fuel pressure sensor value should drop to 0 and the engine will stall. If a sensor is causing this concern the suspected sensor will not drop to 0 the engine will stall however the sensor will still read 30 to 40 pounds per square inch.

N192220030. Certain vehicles, equipped with a 6.6L diesel engine (RPO L5D), may have a condition in which the incorrect amount of silicone fluid was added to the fan drive assembly. With low fluid, the vehicle may not meet the cooling requirement needed to achieve the max tow rating and may also lead to poor control of the fan drive speeds which could affect cooling performance. Dealers are to replace the fan blade clutch.
