car has been in shop for replacement of fuel module 4 times. Now was in shop again with failed fuel pump at 9k miles. had loss of power at 70mph on freeway and could have been rear ended. if the fuel loss happens during a left turn could result in a collision. have already reported the first four failures. adding this number 5

When starting the vechile most times the radio will turn on at 75% its max volume. On occassion this will keep the backup camera on and lose all ability to control the infotainment center on the vechile. I also turn my raidio off before I exit the vechile. This occurs when bluetooth connected phone is in car and not in the car. The only fix that has been told to me via the service department is to turn off the vechile and open the drivers door. Cheverlot knows about this issues, which affects more than the 21 equinox, they have not made any effort to correct the issues.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while idled at a traffic light, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle remained at the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

Went to the grocery store, bought $300 worth of stuff, loaded it all in the back. Driving home, one of the bags full of bottles of wine fell over. Upon arriving home, tried to slowly and partially open the lift gate to prevent items from falling out. Hit button to open lift gate. With left hand, tried to slow down the opening while with right hand, reached in to catch loose bottles. Apparently my providing resistance to slow the opening was interpreted as some kind of "problem" causing the opening to reverse and causing the lift gate to close on my right arm. I now have a large abrasion and bruise on my right arm where the lift gate tried to eat my arm. If the lift gate had a manual opening, I could have opened it at my desired speed but there is only an automatic opening with its default speed. When this is combined with the automatic reversal, you have a people eater. I tried to report this to Chevrolet but could not find anything in their many websites where a safety issue can be reported.

INTERMITTENT SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, BUCKING, SPUTTERING OF ENGINE WITH OR WITHOUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, COULD BE REAR ENDED ON EXPRESSWAY AS VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY DECELERATE WITHOUT BRAKING AS NO FUEL GETTING TO ENGINE AND IN GEAR. ONSTAR HAS CONFIRMED ENGINE CODES. THE PART 13527053 FUEL CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES BY CHEVROLET DEALER UNDER WARRANTY PURCHASED VEHICLE 07/01/2022. FIRST INCIDENT 07/14/2022 SECOND 02/22/2023 AND 3/10/23 WITH REPAIR 03/21/23 THIRD 04/07/23 MOST RECENT 07/24/23 ALL HAD FUEL MODULE REPLACED IN ALL CASES BAD RUNNING AND LOSS OF POWER, STALLING, BUCKING CAUSED US TO BRING CAR IN FOR SERVICE

ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While attempting accelerate on the highway at 70 MPH the car entered "Engine power reduced" mode resulting in the car to slow down. This reduced speed resulted in a few near misses on the highway. The check engine light than began to flash for about 15 seconds before all the messages went away and normal driving conditions occurred. Taking it into the dealership they pulled from the computer the issue of "multiple cylinder misfire" but could not replicate the issue. I also filed a ticket with GM letting them know of a potentially deadly issue but they sided with the dealer stating the car was operating within normal parameters since they could not duplicate the issue. The weather prior to the issue was rainy.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle decelerated independently and lost motive power. The contact's husband pushed the vehicle to the side of the roadway. The contact was unsure whether a warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart but stalled again after several minutes. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump power control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump power control module had failed again and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 3,905.

2022 CHEVROLET EQUINOX-Consumer Privacy Act release form was forwarded from the Alaskan Senators office. Consumer transcribed statement: “Engine on my 2022 Chevy Equinox stopped running twice in January, 2023. After 2nd “pause” it would not restart. Need to go to dealership in Anchorage for fix. No roads, except ferry (Alaska Marine Highway) but they won’t take – no running cars. I shipped to AML via AK Marine Line (barge) and pre-paid charches – finally fixed. 2 ½-3 months later and shpped back via AML barge. Now Chevy says they will not pay shipping up and back. I’m just out all I have paid for. Chevy says won’t pay as no recall issued – but failed to tell me how to get car back and forth to dealership without paying for it myself. We were without car for 3 months! We are retired, only have 1 car and it would not run. Need someone to help me! Call me to get rest of information. I’m not sure if this is something you can assist with. We would greatly appreciate your guidance either way." VIN# listed in letter was not found.

The van shuts off automatically after 15 minutes idling, I went in a store and left a senior in the back seat that the door was in child safety mode and the when the auto shut off, he almost suffocated from the heat. and wasn't able to open door. I felt he is safe since I left the engine on. Why is not installed a sensor that detects body heat in the auto and keeps the car Running. Years ago, a baby was allowed in infant seat in the front and much less babies were forgotten in the Vehicle the same question again Why is not installed a sensor that detects body heat in the auto and keeps the car Running.

The contact stated while approaching a stop light, the vehicle behind the contact was rear-ended by another vehicle causing the vehicle behind the contact to rear-end the contact’s vehicle, causing minor damages. When the contact was rear-ended the seat belt on the driver's side did not retract at the point of impact, causing the contact to launch forward and struck a sun visor with his head. The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH, the steering wheel failed to turn and became stiff. The contact attempted to turn to the left for a curve however the steering wheel failed to turn to the left. The "power steering service drive with care" warning message was illuminated. As a result, the contact crashed into the guard rail on the side of the road causing damage to the entire passenger side of the vehicle. No one was injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who determined that there was no failure. The contact mentioned that the failure continued where there was no power steering. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and case was filed but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 3,400.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle made abnormal sounds at start up. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that parts were not yet available. Car would stall suddenly mid intersection or street. There is an active recall for a fuel pump module with no known date of resolution. Fuel Pump Module would not provide adequate gas to the engine. This happened twice to me as I was driving on April 4th 2023. After speaking to Chevy & Dealership, there is not yet a fix to this problem. This car is UNSAFE and needs to be removed from the roads. I traded this car in, because I felt unsafe since Chevy could not help me.
