Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was approximately 72,170, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was approximately 206,352.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On July 23, 2025 My Equinox quit running as I was pulling out into an intersection. After several attempts to restart with no success I called my roadside assistance provider and had the Equinox towed to a repair facility. After diagnostics on July 24, 2025 it was determined that the Fuel Pump Control Module had failed. The Module was replaced and reprogrammed. After the repair was completed it was brought to my attention that there was a recall issued on "some" 2022 Equinox 's but not all 2022 Equinox 's. My VIN was not included in the recall but suffered the same failure as the recalled units. No warning lights or symptoms prior to the failure. This continues to be a safety issue because without warning the vehicles just stop running. The Equinox had 45,939 miles on the odometer at the time of the failure. This in a know safety issue and GM should have included all 2022 Equinox 's or at least a broader range of VINs in the initial recall.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The contact stated that while looking out of the passenger’s side windshield, the view was distorted. The contact stated that there was a crackling sound coming from the brake pedal while depressing the brake pedal, with the message a "Service All Wheel Drive System" displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while the AWD feature was activated and driving up an incline, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal with the "Service All Wheel Drive System" message displayed. The dealer was notified of the failure, and an appointment was made for service. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150.

On Sunday September 7th 2025. I was driving 40 miles an hour. And all of a sudden my electronic braking system engaged and locked up. Big jolt and came to stop. Luckily I was not on the highway and also luckily I did not get rear-ended as well.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Vehicle was being parked in garage when it accelerated in reverse, on it's own, very quickly. Fortunately I was able to avoid colliding with any thing behind me by braking in time. I then shifted into drive when vehicle accelerated forward, on it's own again, very quickly. I was not able to brake before vehicle crashed into concrete garage wall, severely damaging front end. Vehicle is still under warranty, and I intend to have dealership haul it in for repairs. I have found other drivers complain on the Internet of experiencing the exact same issue as I described above. This model, Chevrolet, Equinox, 2025 is not safe to drive!

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, water accumulated on the front seats floor mats and on the second-row floor mats. Upon inspection, the contact found potential white mold under the seats. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The dealer informed the contact that the failure might be related to the water hose to the A/C, or the failure might be related to the moonroof. The vehicle remained at the dealer pending a repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was left in the sun for four days with the windows rolled up, and white mold spread through the vehicle. The contact had not notified the manufacturer of the failure; however, a representative from GM stopped by the dealer to inspect the vehicle. The contact stated that the insurance company had an adjuster inspect the vehicle at the dealer. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Driving down the interstate my 2022 chevrolet equinox LT lost all propulsion and shut off. I was able to get pulled over to the side of the road had to have my vehicle towed. Vehicle was repaired after a week at the dealership the problem was the fuel pump module again. This is the 2nd time the fuel pump modulehas went out in 2 years.

My 2026 Chevrolet Equinox has been having problems; when cruise control is set it randomly puts itself into emergency park mode, the infotainment system loves to shut down which affects the entire vehicle. When this happens I can’t see my speed, every screen goes black and I have to pull over and reset the entire thing which takes a good 30 minutes, sometimes more. I have taken it to a shop which they said it was electrical and module issues, never told me exactly what or where and I’m having to struggle just to get the invoices. The problems are not currently resolved, it would’ve had to been in the shop for over a month and I can’t afford to be without a car that long with zero option of a rental. I have children. I got my car in May of this year with only 4 miles on it, been having the issues ever since.

POWER TRAIN
Vehicle rolls back very often when in drive. Even holding down the brake at a hill then hitting the accelerator it still rolls back. When in cruise control and I take over it also tends to make the vehicle jump when the vehicle takes back over. Overall harsh riding. Feels like it’s all coming from that CVT. Dealer says that it may be an issue but can’t replicate it unless it stays there with them for a while until they can replicate the issue. There have been incidents where I’ve almost rolled back and hit other vehicles due to this cause. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. No warning lamps or anything on the vehicle

The contact stated that while driving the vehicle and approaching 100 miles; the odometer rolled over to 1,000 miles. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the vehicle was inspected and the contact was informed that based on the oil life, the vehicle had been driven over 1,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to several other dealers who came to the same conclusion. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 66; it was later discovered that the mileage was over 1,000.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was vibration coming from the vehicle, and the contact became aware that the stopping distance was extended while coming to a stop on wet roads. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local tire shop, where it was determined that all four tires needed to be replaced due to premature wear. The contact stated that the wear marker was visible on all the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was referred to the tire manufacturer, who advised the contact that the tires were manufactured as requested by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 25,316.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions, and the brake pedal needed to be depressed very hard while attempting to stop the vehicle. The contact stated the vehicle had started independently two to four times in a row. No warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving uphill, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning illuminated. The contact immediately depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle accelerated, and the light turned off. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The contact stated that two years later, while driving approximately 40 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred 9 days later. The contact believed that the failure was associated with an unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,200.
