SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 64 number 12-22 dated July 5, 2012. After one or both of the front door control units (J386/J387) is replaced, one or both of the rear door control units (J3888/J389) cannot be coded or parameterized via an SVM specified vs. actual comparison (spec/actual). The parameter data in the software coding container has changed for the front and rear door control units. As a result, an SVM code is required to update the parameter data for any replacement control unit. Simply running an SVM spec/actual will not code nor update the parameter data in the new replacement control unit. A hardware change suggestion will be provided when an SVM spec/actual is executed. An additional hardware replacement is not required.

SummarySupersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-38 dated February 22, 2012. The ignition key cannot be removed even though the gear shifter is in Park (P). The vehicle is mechanically in the Park position, but this is not recognized electronically. The gear shifter cannot be moved from the Park position. On vehicles with Audi advanced key, the vehicle cannot be locked by remote control after the engine has been switched off. DTC 00230 may be sporadically stored in the vehicle authorization system control module. The Park position of the gear shifter is sporadically not recognized, which causes the ignition key to not be cleared and prevents the vehicle from being locked.

After ignition cycle, the warning message is no longer present. DTC P074100 (Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance) or ?Stuck Off? is stored in transmission control module (TCM), J217 (address word 03). The fault occurs with ATF temperature below 60o C. Check for this temperature range in the extended environmental conditions of the diagnosis protocol. This TSB only applies if the ATF level is correct and there are no leaks.

SummaryThe GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the navigation map does not match the actual vehicle's location or actual direction of travel. The condition can happen sporadically or consistently. The condition does not happen during or immediately following the initial PDI inspection (once the vehicle has been taken out of transport mode). It is normal for the satellite reception to be 0 immediately after taking the vehicle out of transport mode. With the ignition off, the vehicle must sit in open sky view for 10-15 minutes before a GPS fix can be obtained. The vehicle is a Model Year 2013. The MMI navigation unit uses internal sensors in the main unit and vehicle sensor data to determine the direction and movement of the vehicle. The GPS system provides supplementary position data upon vehicle start-up, when the vehicle has been off for less than four hours. If the vehicle has been off for more than four hours, a more accurate GPS 3D fix is required, as the previous GPS data is not used and has been thrown out. The GPS 3D fix is obtained when the system acquires four or more satellites. In areas with limited sky view or with tall obstructions, the system can take an extended amount of time to acquire four satellites, or may not be able to acquire the satellites at all until the vehicle is driven into an open sky view area.
