Common problem with this generation RDX. My back glass shattered once I turned on the rear defroster. Now I have glass in my rear tailgate as well. This problem is being fixed under warranty in Canada but not in the US. Acura/ Honda are aware of this defect and still not doing anything to fix it.

The headlights are extremely dim, dangerously so. I have tried troubleshooting and the voltage at the headlamp connector is 3 volts. The fusebox and headlamp relay are 14 volts. Searching for an answer online, I find there are a myriad of other owners with the same dim headlamp problem. Dealerships seem unable to fix to the issue.

I opened my driver's side door and sat down when I heard a crack sound. I turned around and heard a louder crack sound and saw my back window was shattered. I called Acura twice and spoke to two different agents and both stated they never heard of this happening nor were there any bulletins about this being an issue. I called three Acura dealerships near me and all three stated they have never heard of this issue even though I've heard of this happening multiple times in my Acura owners group discussions. The last dealership I spoke with asked for me to drive it to them so they could see it. While driving there the glass just continued to drop inside my cargo trunk. The dealership is supposed to be checking with their district manager tomorrow but didn't sound optimistic. They did check with parts and the rearview glass is on backorder with no ETA and other Acura owners have been waiting months to get theirs replaced. I feel this is a much bigger issue and is a defect in the design of this model based on what I've heard and have now experienced firsthand.

Very poor visibility from low beam lights. The daytime running lights are brighter than my low beams. Had bulbs replaced with upgraded bulbs still unable to drive this vehicle at night. I'm the original owner purchased new no accidents. Acura has a recall or warranty enhancement for other models with the same problems. I was told by the dealer only way to correct my issues is by replacing the headlight assembly. Very disappointed with my last 2 Acura vehicles. Acura should have kept making the vehicles in Japan.

Both headlights are very dim. The headlights have been gradually dimming. It is very dangerous to drive at night. Headlights should fail in this manner.

The low beam reflector surface is failing and the quality of the lighting on the road at night at standard low beam is a danger to me and to pedestrians. This almost resulted in serious injury to someone was when I was driving in the early evening last week and did not see a pedestrian walking along the side of the road until the very last second and swerved to avoid them. They were not wearing bright clothing, but I realized that it was also the fault of my headlights after a friend had driven my car and had questioned the quality of my headlights. The gradual deterioration in quality over time was something that I had come to accept, but now realize is very dangerous to me and pedestrians. I visited my local Honda dealership to ask about this and they indicated that they have had many customers ask about the quality of the lighting on these vehicles. In addition, a quick search on the internet identified a number of forums where this problem is starting to be reported more frequently and could be a danger to many people other than myself and the pedestrians on the roads around us, see for example community.cartalk.com/acura-rdx-2015-dim--headlights/180589/23

Headlamp failure. Headlamp light getting progressively dimmer, forcing me to drive with the brights on at all times after sunset, even on highways and on well - lit roads - causing hazard to other drivers. I can barely see the cars ahead of me. Inclimate weather is practically impossible to see at all - does not illuminate lane lines. I had the dealer change out the bulbs and inspect the outer housing. No difference with new bulbs and the outer housing is clear. Car is available for inspection. The dealer mechanic said this was a known problem for 2014 RDX and the chief mechanic confirmed the dimmness. No other person has inspected the car and there were no warnings. The problem started around 95,000 miles.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Headlight Assembly. Yes, it is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Visibility at night is significantly diminished. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Car engine and body is in great shape. It is well maintained with approximately 101,019 miles. The low beam headlights have dimmed to the point the vehicle is almost undrivable at night. This is a well documented problem with other Acura RDX owners with the same model year. The manufacturer will not fix the issue and is recommending a replacement of the entire headlight assembly which is >$2,000. This is not a wear and tear item. I've never had to replace this type of equipment on any vehicle I've owned.

Q. Basic Introduction: Like hundreds of people all over the internet, my 2014 Acura RDX base model's low-beam headlights deteriorated to the point of being of no use while driving. Quite literally, without exaggeration, at night, I saw nothing but a faint glow on the street immediately in front of the car. Q. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The LOW BEAM headlights failed, becoming dim to the point of extreme danger. I had to literally avoid driving anywhere at night. And yes: I replaced the headlights with aftermarket replacements (not trusting the manufacturer), and I have the original headlights still in my possession. Q. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was fortunate to be in a househould with more than one car, where I was able to simply never drive the car at night, other than occasions where we were out later than expected, and had to get home with virtually no usable low-beams. Other people who only had one car, who had no choice, and most commonly, people whose low-beams deteriorated so gradually that they didn't notice, are driving around all over America. We are all at risk. Q. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Many people in online communities have contacted dealers, but I personally did not, other than asking a service rep about it. In my case, the person either didn't know, or pretended they didn't know about the problem. Q. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. By avoiding driving it, having other cars, and being careful, there was no accident in my situation. Q. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? None, other than finally realizing the low beam headlights were not of any use. I noticed in Summer 2020, at approx. 62,000 miles.

Headlights have gotten so dim it is unsafe to drive at night. No change in brightness even after replacing the halogen bulbs with brighter than OEM version. The problem is apparently deterioration inside the headlight assembly/housing causing the light to not reflect out forward properly.

- #11446587January 7, 2022SERVICE BRAKES
I own the Acura RDX 2022 and from the very first week the front left brakes were making a rough contact noise when braking. I took to two different dealership and they said the grooves should wear and it may take sometime. I am at 3000 miles and still the same noise. Other brakes function properly. Also, now the weather dropping to 20 F the same front brakes makes a loud grinding / gurgling noise and goes away after warmed up. No TSB, no recalls and no solution. Dealer will not change the brake pads / rotor to see if that fixes the issue.

The current mileage on my odometer is 69,125. Over the past few weeks (last few hundred miles), I have noticed that my low beam headlights have become very dim and are continually getting dimmer. Having read MANY other complaints about this problem with this particular year model, I took my car to our local Acura dealership to be diagnosed. The findings were that the internal reflector has deteriorated and is not projecting light properly. It seems like the 2014 Acura RDX has a recall in place for this same issue but the 2015 does not. Without adequate lighting, it is nearly impossible to drive at night. I can hardly see 20 feet in front of me--a huge safety issue. My inability to see what's around me while driving in the dark is a huge liability to other motorists around me. This has forced me to only drive in daylight. If I have to drive at night, I'm forced to use my high beams which poses safety issues for others on the road. The issue has been confirmed by my local Acura dealership. I received a repair quote of $2,196.00. There are no warning lights or anything alarming me that there's an issue with the light output. I sincerely hope that you all will investigate this issue and require a recall of all 2015 Acura RDX models.

Low beam headlight projectors reflective backing has deteriorated causing loss of reflected light end result very dim low beam headlights. Obviously everyone in my vehicle or on the roadway around me is at risk of injury or death due to poor forward lighting. Problem has been confirmed by a 30 year Master ASE certified technician. Manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle but has notified me that headlamps are not a safety related component. No warning lights or messages related to this concern. This problem IS a safety concern of the highest order and the manufacturer should be held responsible for repair cost. Acura’s response to my concern has been laughable. They appear to believe they cannot be held responsible for they safety of the vehicles they produce or the injury or loss of life they may inflict. Please help resolve this issue.

Front headlights (low beams) are very dim even after replacing the bulb. This was noticed on a long drive back home during the night. While passing opposing traffic it was almost impossible to keep visibility of the lane markers and road.
