Exterior Lighting. Low beam headlights/assy. are too dim. Due to the flawed design the reflective film backing material inside the projector lens for the low beam, the headlights delaminates. This is in the projector/reflective and has nothing to do with the bulbs, which have been replaced multiple times. It is so dim that I did run off of the road into a ditch, but due to the low speed, there was no injury or damage. People flash me that the lights are not on, but they are and I have to drive with the high beams on to be able to see the road. Acura may have skated out of recalling this vehicle with the same headlamp assy, but when I get into an accident due to these dim headlights, I will first sue Acura as this is a cut and dry case of not wanting to pay to replace an obvious safety risk. Reminds me of that movie about the gas tanks exploding. The vehicle no longer conforms to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108. Please investigate. The same headlamp assy. was recalled on another vehicle series, and I do not understand why Acura would make a customer pay over 2K for replacements, plus installation fees. The RDX model should have been included in this recall. Read windshield shattered leaving glass that can't be removed from the tailgate. Previous years have a service bulletin and this continues to be an issue with newer models, including my 2022 RDX.

I received the notification from Honda via Acura Link regarding my 2019 RDX Fuel Pump Manufacture Safety Recall on 12/18/2023. For additional references, a complaint was filed with Honda (Complaint No. 14397579). I have made several attempts with Acura Dealerships (McGrath Acura Morton Grove & McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago) to have the fuel pump replaced. Each time I was advised that unless I am experiencing problems, they can not service my vehicle as the do not have the parts available. They did not even inspect my vehicle to assure me that my vehicle is safe to drive. Per NHTSA website it states "if the fuel pump module is inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury". But what about more severe damages for me, my passengers or others? What about additional out of pocket expenses for repairs/services that could occur because my vehicle was refused service? Now, when driving, I have anxiety every time I drive my vehicle when it stalls. I WANT MY CAR SERVICED & MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED ASAP!! National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), American Honda Motor Company, Inc. (Honda) and McGrath Acura Morton Grove & McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago are hereby on notice that my RDX was not inspected. I was refused service and the recall has not been properly addressed even though NHTSA issued a recall to replace a defective fuel pump.

My 2019 Acura RDX was parked at Sam's Club for less than hour. After I put items in the car I closed the driver's side door and the rear windshield shattered. I had to file a claim for the repair work and was notified by the technician that pieces of glass could not be removed out of the liftgate which will further depreciate the value of the vehicle.

Over time, the halogen headlights have dimmed to the point where night-time driving and driving in rain/fog/snow are unsafe. This is not due to the halogen bulb itself, nor clarity of the lens housing, but rather the reflector. This appears to be a very common problem, confirmed by many other RDX owners. NHTSA should issue a recall for this part as they have done for similar issues facing the 2014-15 Acura RLX.

I was passing another vehicle around 45mph when I had a loss of power in acceleration. Acceleration was limp went down to 10mph engine light came on. I had to pull off road. Shut car off then restarted. Engine light went off. But acceleration is weak. Unable to maneuver away from an emergency situation if need to. Dangerous to drive it like this. I will take it to dealership but know they' never find any issues!

Rear lift gate window shattered spontaneously with no warning signs. Have photos. Glass breakage to be repaired. If shatter occurs during vehicle operation, the driver can be startled causing an accident. Also, shatter simulates gun shot sound, which can also startle driver into an accident. Recurring issue on this model based on Google search comments. Post-repair claims state that residual glass remains in the lift gate panel, which can only be removed by manufacturer’s service department for a fee. As the window is the same part number, issue will repeat perpetually.

I drove my wife’s car (this Acura RDX) the other night and was surprised how poorly I could see with the dim lights. When I was approaching on coming traffic on a rural two line road in the rain and at night, I could not see the center or edge of road line at all. Basically had to look for the elevation or texture difference of the road and grass on the side of the road. It was a very unsafe and scary situation. With passing of on-coming traffic, the return to the bright lights was like night and day. Even with no on-coming traffic, the lighting with dim lights was too dim to drive with. I am so thankful my wife have not been in an accident, but so frustrated that she has been put in that situation without any warning or notification from the manufacture or other. Apparently from what I have read on the web, this situation is well know, but unaddressed. Shame on the industry.

I purchased this vehicle in October 2023, it was sold to me is as a certified vehicle. The issue came to my attention when I drove out the first night after the purchase. I took the car back to the dealer. Turns out the service department is aware of the issue and recommended a stereo installation shop. I went to headlight business, collision repair company, stereo shop, a total of six different outlets. I went back to the dealer and said they can’t help me. They sold me a lemon and they refuse to stand behind the fact that it was certified. They knowingly sold me a car that can only driven during the day.

I only feel that it is right I complain about the Acura Rdx headlights I really fear I will only end up hurting my self and/or others. The low beam headlight are dangerous at night I barely see the headlight on and when it’s snowing and the night time with no street lights I’m scared for my life. I can only drive my Acura rdx during the daytime. Please investigate this problem. Thank you

Since purchasing this vehicle new in August, 2020, I have noticed intermittent loud "popping" noises coming from the sunroof. This typically happens when driving over an uneven portion of the road and sounds like the glass is going to break. I am reporting this now because I have read numerous similar complaints by other RDX owners where in some cases, the glass has actually imploded.

The headlights have become too dim to drive safely at night. While researching the problem on-line, I see this is a known problem caused by the reflective material inside the headlamp assembly delaminating or discoloring. Although a known safety problem, Acura has not issued a needed recall to correct the problem.

Low beam lights at night are so dim that one can hardly tell they are even on almost. It is unsafe to drive at night and particularly rainy conditions at night without using the high beams. Bulbs have been replaced to the brightest available on the market and the plastic lenses of the headlights have had any oxidation removed. It appears as though the reflector in which the low beam bulbs mount into are completely hazed over. Yet there is no way to clean or replace these individual parts without replacing the entire headlight assembly. It is available for inspection if desired and I have not yet consulted a dealer. Vehicle currently has 120k miles and the issue started to be noticeable before hitting 100k miles. It is at the point now where I will need to personally replace the headlight assemblies or have a dealer or body shop perform this work.

My rear window exploded while my car was parked in the target parking lot, I had them run cameras to see if it was someone who broke my back window but it showed no one near my car during the explosion… while researching online I noticed that there was a lot of complaint about a default in the rear defroster and that was what might have caused the explosion…

I came out to the garage to get in my car, and I noticed the back window had a huge hole in it. The car was parked in the garage overnight, and did not have the window issue when it was parked. The glass just disintegrated. This is a known issue to occur on this vehicle. Called the dealership and they knew about this issue. There is a California class-action lawsuit against Honda for this issue
