The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid, featuring Nissan's e-POWER technology, has been recognized with a 2026 Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems award. This acknowledgment comes as the vehicle prepares for its U.S. market debut, highlighting the innovative hybrid system. This marks the 21st time a Nissan vehicle has been included on the annual Wards list, which identifies top powertrains in the U.S. market based on engineering, power, torque, and efficiency. The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is the first U.S.-market application of Nissan's e-POWER technology.

Nissan Rogue Hybrid e-POWER Technology

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid utilizes the latest iteration of Nissan's e-POWER hybrid system, which has been developed over three generations. Globally, nearly 2 million e-POWER equipped vehicles have been sold across 68 countries since 2016. For the North American market, engineers specifically calibrated the e-POWER system to suit local driving conditions, speeds, road surfaces, and consumer habits.

The e-POWER system operates with a unique design where a dedicated gasoline engine functions solely as a generator. This engine can shut off entirely when the battery has sufficient charge. Power is delivered directly to the wheels by dual electric motors, eliminating the need for a traditional transmission. Nissan states this configuration provides a smoother and more responsive acceleration experience, distinguishing the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid as the only hybrid in its class with a 100% electric drivetrain.

Performance and Driver Features

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid SR trim is projected to achieve an estimated fuel economy of 41 miles per gallon in the city, 36 miles per gallon on the highway, and a combined 38 miles per gallon. This efficiency is coupled with driver-assist technologies designed to enhance the driving experience, particularly in urban environments.

One such feature is Smooth Stop technology, which automatically adjusts brake pressure during the final moments of a stop. This aims to reduce abrupt movements and create a more controlled braking experience. Additionally, the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid includes e-Pedal, enabling one-pedal driving functionality. Drivers can slow the vehicle, including bringing it to a complete stop, by simply lifting their foot off the accelerator pedal, utilizing regenerative braking.

Availability and Pricing

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships in fall 2026. Initially, availability will be limited to the all-wheel-drive SR trim, equipped with the SR Technology Package. The full model range, including SV, SR, and Platinum grades, is anticipated to become available in early 2027.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid will start at $35,490 for the SV grade. This pricing positions the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid within the competitive compact SUV segment, offering a hybrid option with distinct powertrain technology.

For consumers considering a compact SUV, the introduction of the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid brings a new option featuring an award-winning e-POWER system. Its focus on an electric-driven experience, combined with specific driver technologies and competitive fuel economy, positions it as a notable entry in the hybrid market.
