American Honda Reports Strong July 2026 Sales, Led by Hybrids

American Honda achieved its best July sales since 2019, reporting a 12.8% increase in July 2026 with a total of 136,549 units sold. This growth was attributed to a balanced product lineup that includes both affordable passenger cars and popular SUVs, alongside record-setting hybrid vehicle sales. The company's year-to-date sales reached 893,469 units, marking a 3.9% increase.

The Honda brand contributed significantly to the overall performance, with sales rising 12.3% to 124,553 units in July. Passenger car sales for Honda saw a substantial 35.7% jump, totaling 43,604 units. The Civic recorded its best July sales since 2021 with 22,995 units, while the Accord surpassed 20,000 units in July for the first time since 2019. The Prelude model also exceeded its sales target, selling 354 units.

Hybrid models were a major growth driver for Honda, achieving an all-time July record with 36,609 units sold. Hybrid variants accounted for 54% of CR-V sales, 41% of Accord sales, and 32% of Civic sales. The CR-V maintained its position as the top-selling SUV in America, posting record July sales with an 18.8% increase. Other Honda light trucks also performed well, with the Passport logging a record July at 5,641 units (+18.5%), the HR-V selling 13,539 units (+15.6%), and the Pilot reaching 10,125 units (+2.2%).

The Acura brand also experienced strong momentum in July 2026, with sales increasing by 18.9% to 11,996 units, marking its best July since 2023. Acura's SUV sales climbed 21.6% to 9,618 units. The flagship Acura MDX saw a notable 60.8% rise in sales, achieving its best monthly performance since December 2024.

Gateway models like the ADX and Integra collectively sold over 5,300 units in July. The premium crossover ADX sold nearly 3,000 units, representing a 28.3% increase and maintaining approximately 30% of its segment's retail share. The Integra continued its strong sales trajectory with 2,370 units sold in July, up 68.8% year-over-year, and a 45.3% increase year-to-date.
