Since purchase, this vehicle has an SOS error that disables the SOS emergency assistance and communication functions. It has been back to the dealer twice and they are unable to repair. The manager has told be that VW is aware but there is no fix at this time. I suspect this disables crash detection and emergency functions as well.

Since, I've owned it (new), there has only been 1 other time (XXX) when I am stopped at a red light, I go to accelerate at the green light, and my car has completely turned off. Requiring me to turn on my emergency lights on, then placing my car in park, and restart the car. The second time this happened was on [XXX], which prompted me to take my car to the VW dealership in Rockville, MD. The dealership was unable to find or replicate the issue so they sent me home with no plan. I have also experienced radio issues, namely that it just stops working or won't turn on at all. The control panel that controls the sunroof and lights fell from my roof. It was hanging down blocking my view so I could not drive. I brought it to my dealer who said it was still under warranty and proceeded to fix the problem. I still have to go back because they have to order another part. I have read several other complaints about the same issue. I have always bought VW and this is the first time I had an issue like this! I believe this should be a recall since it has happened to so many others. It is a very dangerous situation . Thank god I wasn’t driving in the highway this would of ended quite different!

The engine stumbles. It performs unexpectedly just when you need power, and it's not there. Feel unsafe when making left turns and the engine lurks and lurches and does not transmit power making the left turn into traffic very unsafe.

STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Since I purchased this vehicle new, there have been several persistent, and dangerous problems. I have repeatedly reported these to my local dealership, Larry Miller VW, in Lakewood, Colorado, and they have effectively ignored me. The first problem is with the steering column/lane assist functions. The failure light/beep for lane assist is frequently alarming, and the control of the steering changes depending on whether lane assist is "on" or "off" or malfunctioning. Sometimes the steering jolts severely in one direction. This is manifestly dangerous. The second problem is that the radio malfunctions in all manner of distracting and dangerous ways. The radio sometimes shuts off without warning and cannot be turned back on. Sometimes the sound remains "on" but the screen goes "black" so that you cannot read a map or make a selection from the control menu. Sometimes the radio alarms that the driver is about to hit an object in front or in back of the vehicle, when there is no object anywhere around. This is very dangerous because the alarm is loud and the brakes are applied if the car believes an object is near. I have videos of these problems occurring. There is no specific date as these problems have been happening since I purchased the car new, until today, 7/10/24.

An issue occurs intermittently when accelerating from a stop/at low speeds. When pressing the gas pedal, there is approximately a 3-4 second delay before the engine kicks in. Theres is no acceleration during those 3-4 seconds and suddenly, the engine will jolt you forward. This presents a safety issue when pulling out on to a street and this vehicle will not move forward. There have been 2 instances where I have almost gotten hit/involved with road rage due to this issue.

In July of 23 went to get in my car and when I opened the door the center console was hanging down by wires blocking the rear view mirror and part of the windshield. Car was fixed at the dealer . Yesterday 6/26/2024 went to get in my car and the same thing has happened again !!!! . Can’t see out my rear view mirror and part of my view is blocked from looking out the windshield creating massive safty issues until it can get fixed. ( tape does not hold to keep it out of the way ) Also was told that VW will not cover the costs of repair this time even though it has been less than a year since it happened last time . This is a massive safty issue that affects driving and could very easily cause an accident at any time!!!!!!!.

Center console above rear view mirror has broken and fallen from ceiling for the 2nd time. It as repaired in Aug 2023 after this happened the first time. This is a DEFECT and it needs to be addressed ASAP! If this falls from the ceiling while driving, its very dangerous and most likely would cause an accident. I will be calling dealer tomorrow and it better be repaired under warranty.

The air conditioning in my Tiguan failed while I was driving from Michigan to Florida through Tennessee. I could hear the system running, but no air was coming out at all.The outside temperature was 94F and I had to drive with no AC with new (year and a half old)Tiguan !!!!!!

Travel assist goes on and off at random times . The wipers turn on and off by themselves. Also the front collision warning light comes on randomly.. what should I be doing with this vehicle… I’ve read many reviews that other people have the same issues.

The contact owns a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he observed excessive smoke coming from the exhaust pipes. The low oil warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the valve steam seals. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who then diagnosed a failure with the fuel vapor leak detection pump. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 1,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
While I was driving today, I heard a loud pop. It was caused by the car's overhead console (it houses the controls for the sun roof, garage opener, cabin lights, etc) suddenly detaching. Apparently, a lot of owners of this same VW model has reported the same issue and several has reported it as a recurring issue. You can find details here [XXX] I am concerned about the safety issues resulting from this defect. First, it causes a distraction that can result in an accident. 2nd, the console broke off on all 4 locations where it is secured in place by screws. Due to this, I was unable to put it back in place causing the console to just dangle while I was driving. Since the console is directly behind the rear view mirror, it was blocking my view of the mirror. I advise the board to examine the design of this console as the plastic ring where the screw mounts is so thin. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who observed a crack in the oil pan. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic, who then diagnosed a failure with the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Crankshaft vent valve clogged and failed, causing overpressurization and oil leaks. Caused the oil pan to crack and upper timing cover to leak per the inspection at Volkswagen. I was driving, going 63mph when it said max engine speed 3000RPM and a light that said EPC started flashing along with the engine light. I turned off cruise control and began to go towards the shoulder and it shuddered and a large white plumb of smoke came out of it. It wouldn't speed up at all while I was getting over. I had it towed to my home. My husband noticed oil all over the bottom and back of my car. My dipstick had no oil on it at all. We towed it Tuesday morning to Volkswagen.
