The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving out of the driveway, the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact stated that the bearings in the strut were on the top, causing the front wheels to lower to the ground. The contact heard a very loud clank, and the struts separated from the vehicle at the same time while reversing out of the driveway.

I am reporting a potential safety defect involving the front driver and passenger seatbacks on my 2026 Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid. Vehicle: 2026 Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid VIN: [XXX] Mileage: approximately 5,200 miles I first noticed the problem approximately two weeks ago. Both the driver and front passenger seatbacks have noticeable popping/clicking noises and feel loose. The condition occurs when leaning back against the seatback, accelerating, braking, turning, and when getting into or out of the vehicle. The seatbacks feel as though there is excessive movement or play in the seatback mechanism. The popping/clicking occurs during normal use and normal driving conditions. I am concerned that the looseness and abnormal movement of both front seatbacks could indicate a defect involving the seatback reclining/locking mechanism, seat structure, mounting, or another component that could affect occupant protection in a crash. I took the vehicle to Toyota of Plano on September 5, 2026, to have the issue inspected. I reported the condition to the dealership. I was told that there is currently no repair available for the problem. I am reporting this issue to NHTSA because the problem affects both front seating positions and involves abnormal looseness and movement of the seatbacks. I believe this condition should be investigated to determine whether it represents a safety-related defect that may affect other 2026 Toyota Camry vehicles. I have documentation from the Toyota dealership visit and can provide repair-order information, photographs, video, or other documentation demonstrating the seatback movement and popping/clicking. I request that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate whether this condition represents a potential safety defect or a developing defect trend involving the 2026 Toyota Camry. I woke up to my car on fire and Toyota is saying they don’t know what happened but they’re also saying it wasn’t their fault I’ve never seen a brand new car just randomly set on fire and then nobody really look for any answers I just put brand new tires on the car the day before it burnt up I’m currently behind on my car payments because of the financial strain this whole situation put me in because on top of a divorce I wasn’t prepared to go and buy another car I’ve just stopped living in my current car and got an apartment because of the financial strain that this is caused and I wasn’t given any kind of reimbursement or assistance even with the tires that I just bought I feel like Toyota knows something that they’re not telling me and I deserve to be compensated

2025 Toyota Camry XSE front bumper cover repeatedly pops out/separates underneath the driver and passenger side headlamps. This has been a widespread issue among a lot of 2025 Toyota Camrys but dealerships say there is no solution and has not become a recall. There absolutely needs to be a recall for this! I feel this could absolutely cause the entire bumper to come undone. There needs to be an official recall and a solution to fix this issue.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 113,000. It was later discovered upon checking a Carfax report that the mileage was 168,000.

As I was driving in stop and go traffic last night, my panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded. Nothing fell on it, so when I say it "spontaneously" exploded, that's an accurate statement. It literally sounded like a gunshot. The cover was closed, so I was fortunate that no glass fell onto us (there were 4 adults in the vehicle at the time). I have only had this vehicle for 4 months. I dropped it off at Toyota of Temecula, CA this morning and I'm waiting to hear next steps.

- #11762260September 4, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
System operates normally on initial speed setting, when the brake pedal is applied which cancels the cruise control (which is normal) problem arises when resetting the cruise control, by pressing the + R in order to re-set the cruise control, nothing happens, so I have to press the button again to re-engage the system. The problem is intermittent but it always seems to happen when there is a car behind me.

My 2019 Toyota Camry is experiencing repeated door lock actuator failures that I believe create a serious safety hazard. The affected component is the door lock actuator, which controls the electronic locking and unlocking of the door, and the failed components are available for inspection upon request. The problem began with intermittent failures where a door would not lock or unlock from the inside, outside, or remote key fob. The most serious incident involved my driver-side door. After the vehicle went into motion, the doors automatically locked, and I was unable to unlock or open the driver-side door from inside. When I reached my destination, I still could not open the driver’s door and had to crawl across the vehicle and exit through the passenger door. This creates a significant risk in a crash, fire, vehicle submersion, medical emergency, or other situation requiring immediate evacuation because an occupant could be trapped or unable to use the driver’s door as an emergency exit. The problem has now occurred on multiple doors, increasing the potential for fewer usable exits during an emergency. The issue has not been formally confirmed by a dealer because repair facilities wanted to charge hundreds of dollars per door to replace the actuator. I personally replaced the actuator on one affected door, and the door immediately returned to normal operation, confirming the actuator was the cause. Two additional doors have since developed the same symptoms. There were no warning lights or messages; the warning signs were intermittent failure to lock or unlock. The vehicle has not been inspected by Toyota, police, or insurance representatives. I am aware that similar door actuator failures have been reported by other Toyota owners and that a proposed federal class action has alleged premature door lock actuator failures involving Toyota Camry models, including 2012–2024.

On August 19, 2026, due to my seizure, my car hit another car, then fence, and finally trees in a backyard. I had fractures in my brow bone, breast, ribs, and backbone because of the hit. My wife and daughter in the back seat also had serious injuries. The side airbag came out but front airbag didn’t. The malfunction of front airbag risked my and my families’ life.

What system failed: The car accelerated on its own. It is available for inspection. I had pulled into a surface parking space creeping very slowly with about 4 feet before the concrete parking block at the front of the space. My foot was between the gas pedal and brake or was just barely touching the brake pedal when the car accelerated. The car jumped the parking block and was crossing a 3 foot planter area when I stepped on the brake, stopped the car and turned the engine off. Risk of Safety: I could have injured others or objects in front of the car or injured myself if I was unable to stop the car. Problem confirmed or reproduced by the dealer? unknown The vehicle has not been inspected. There were no warnings or symptoms of the problem before it happened that I noticed.

Driver’s door would not open with keyless entry and window switch will not work for back passenger windows. Believed to be related to master switch. Door will only open after manual entry with key and windows only work with individual switch on each door.

I am not sure if this is a vehicle or tire issue, but this car is a 2026 Camry nightshade edition, and it is experiencing significant Tramlining due to its combination of wheels and tires. I feel the manufacturer should do something to address this issue.

- #11760803August 30, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
Camera / Radar component - yes Camera / Radar unit is available When it failed, the dash lit up with lots of errors: engine check light, anti-skid failure light (even though the system was turned off), rotating errors included: secondary brake system malfunction, pre-collission system malfunction, LDA system malfunction, check engine. I was driving up a 6% hill on a four lane road at 65 MPH with the cruise control active. Was in the left lane passing two slower trucks when the engine just seem to die and the dash lit up with lots of errors. By the time I was able to get to the right lane and off the freeway, I was doing less than 20 MPH. It turns out that when the radar / camera unit failed, the computer put copious confusing errors and put the engine in limp mode. Very dangerous and I'm lucky there wasn't more traffic. When the computer detected the failure should have automatically disabled the cruise control and put out an error message saying it was now disabled. The other junk errors just confused everything. The computer definitely should not have put the engine in limp mode. It was only after I pulled over and had time to digest the errors that I actually figured out what had happened and how to handle the situation. After I pulled off, the center display which had been saying there was a message that would display after I was safely stopped, now had an message indicating I should turn off the cruise control. Problem was I could not determine if the cruise control was active or not because the indicator was blocked by errors, however the engine was still definitely in limp mode. I finally turned the engine off and back on to make sure the cruise control was off. All the rotating errors and error lights were still on, but the engine was now out of limp mode and the car was again drivable.

The vehicle has developed a high-pitched whine that is most noticeable around 30 to 55 mph. The pitch increases directly with vehicle speed, not engine RPM. The sound occurs whenever positive throttle is applied and disappears immediately when the accelerator is released, before vehicle speed noticeably decreases. Gear changes do not appear to affect the pitch. I am concerned this may indicate a transmission/transaxle or final-drive problem. No warning lights are currently present.
