Phantom braking at highway speed. Maybe a shadow or line on the road confuses the system and slams on brakes. Is more common if the cruise is engaged. Happens every day. My commute is about 30 miles happens once or twice every drive. Increases risk of being rear ended. The car is not FSD enabled.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I am filing the following two incidents regarding false and faulty warnings of the forward collision system. I also filed "bug reports" with the manufacturer, will ask for a service appointment. 1.On June 7, 2023 at 9:10am while I was driving from Fairfax, VA to Arlington, VA on Rte 50, this section of the road had 3 lanes, the left most lane was blocked with a car signaling for a left turn. I am in the middle lane, which is slowed down, there is plenty of distance between my car and the one in front of me. At that point of time, I received a false alarm. 2. On June 9, 2023 at 8:11pm while I was traveling with family on Rte 620, one lane slowed down due to approaching a roundabout my car fired another faulty forward collision warning. Everybody in the car is confused, trying to figure out what is going on. There is plenty of distance, double the legally required, between my card and the car in front of me.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The adaptive cruise control was on today at and around 10:30am on highway 101N in the Bay Area, CA from Woodside exit on 101N to 6th street exit on 280 in SF. The listed highway speed started changing erratically causing the car to break to slow without cause and I had to take over to avoid being rear ended. There were no cars ahead of me that were close enough to cause breaking, and no construction zone or signage either. It was the listed highway speed that kept changing erratically from 65mph to as follows: 25 mph for a few minutes in a 65mph zone, then back to 65mph 25mph for a few minutes in a 65mph zone, then back to 65mph 35mph for maybe a minute in a 65mph zone, then back to 65mph 55mph for a short minute in a 65mph zone, then back to 65mph 30mph for a minute or so in a 65mph zone, then back to 65mph 25mph for a few minutes in a 65mph zone

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I experience multiple and frequent phantom braking events when using the Active Cruise Control. This continues to occur every time I use cruise control, and occurs even on straight empty roads on bright sunny or overcast days, and creates a serious safety issue for any vehicles that are following. The deceleration is rapid because of the regenerative braking capabilities of the vehicle. There are no warnings lamps or indications associated with these random braking events. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, but my research shows this is a common defect reported by many Tesla owners. Tesla should, at a minimum, provide a software option to deactivate Active Cruise Control and make it a non-traffic aware system until such time as a bug proof system can be produced.

We upgraded our auto pilot to the advanced auto pilot system and when driving from Denver to Santa Fe the Tesla would brake abruptly without notice or reason. The braking reduced speed by at least 30-40 mph in a matter of a second or two. This occurred 6 times during this drive. The concern is if this happens when other cars are driving behind our car, it will cause a collision.

While driving northbound on the CA111 freeway along an elevated ramp leading to the Interstate 10 freeway, in the evening after sunset, and on a dry road, without another vehicle beside the car, with the 'autopilot' (not full version) engaged, the car suddenly initiated an uncommanded acceleration which required the driver to aggressively depress the brake pedal to stop the acceleration and to disengage the automated driving feature. This sudden acceleration placed the driver and occupants at risk to the car traveling around an elevated tight curve with a ramp speed limit that the car exceeded. Witnesses were in the car when this incident occurred.

While driving eastbound on the CA60 freeway and merging onto the Interstate 10 freeway, on a clear sunny day and on a dry road, without another vehicle beside the car, with the 'autopilot' (not full version) engaged, the car suddenly initiated an uncommanded acceleration which required the driver to aggressively depress the brake pedal to stop the acceleration and to disengage the automated driving feature. This sudden acceleration brought the vehicle dangerously close to another vehicle traveling in front before it could be stopped. Witnesses were in the car when this incident occurred.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
Drove to the carwash today a couple miles away to see if its just emergency vehicles the car doesn't see but its not seeing any vehicles in the right lane or passenger side of the car until they are about 150ft ahead of me. To clarify the cars vision system is NOT seeing ANY emergency vehicles (driver side, passenger side, ahead, behind, moving away, moving towards) like they don't even exist (invisible) and ALSO not seeing ANY vehicles approaching from the passenger side blind spot. Switched my IG to private, was tired of all the hecklers and people reporting me and NONE of the government agencies doing ANY of their responsibilities except trying to screw me over on made up charges LOL. This has been a consistent on-going issue with my brand new 2023 Tesla Model Y. While using Autopilots Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and the Autosteer feature the car will without warning begin braking. Each time is different in regards to severity of the breaking but it is typically like letting off the accelerator pedal which in a Tesla is comparable to significant breaking. Have taken two highway road trips and on both trips, the phantom breaking has occurred multiple times. Some of the incidents the car would go from 75MPH to 45MPH in a matter of seconds. From research done, this "Phantom Breaking" is a serious issue that Tesla says is due to software issues and not hardware issues. Our safety was put at risk because the person behind us might not be paying attention when cruising on open road, during daylight, etc and could rear-end our car. There have been no predictors or weather conditions that cause the braking. Usually, for us, has happened on sunny days on multi-lane highways with not a lot of traffic. Have taken car to dealer and they state it is a software issue. No warning signs that the breaking would happen and no objects or cars show up on the screen when it happens.

I was driving on the highway with autopilot activated. There were no cars in front, beside or behind me. A car did come up behind me at a fast speed. My car suddenly started to brake (phantom braking). The car coming up behind me sped around me. There was no reason for the car to brake like that.

STEERING
Over the past few weeks, I have been experiencing significant problems with the steering wheel of my car. Upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel frequently locks or becomes exceedingly stiff, requiring significant physical effort to turn. Rebooting the system, exist then re-entering the car can sometimes fix the issue temporarily to make it drivable for the current trip. This issue not only causes inconvenience but also poses a serious threat to safety as it sometimes persists even while driving. Yesterday it happened again when I drove the car to the dealer for diagnosis and repair. Luckily, it didn't happen when I was on highway, it happened when I existed the highway and stopped at the first traffic light when the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn again. The car is in the service center since 6/3/23. Operating a vehicle under such conditions is challenging and risky, creating potential hazards for both myself and other road users. This defect could lead to an inability to navigate or respond effectively to traffic situations, thereby greatly increasing the risk of an accident.

Made it less than a mile from my house this time when the Tesla couldn't see the FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) with lights on and perfect visibility. The car was updated yesterday but it has NEVER actually worked as advertised and the more I complain the more everywhere I go gets hacked. My wife Red Cross servers, hacked. My medical files, hacked. The pizza shop I was driving to, hacked, my grill, hacked, my alarm system, hacked. The lawn equipment store, hacked. My iPhone, hacked. My Tesla, Hacked. My insurance, hacked. My Uber, hacked. My Lyft, hacked. I am currently obtaining my Security+ cybersecurity certification so I can keep my family ALIVE. I am failing and being SMOTHERED! Tesla REFUSES to cooperate despite my countless attempts to be civil, involve the FBI, Local Sheriff, Local PD, IRS, CISA, my State Attorney [XXX] and Governor [XXX] and even the AIRFORCE with .mil emails are having trouble contacting me/my family. I am a high profile witness that DEMANDS WITNESS PROTECTION. I am a witness against [XXX] Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Local PD and Sheriff offices, the DOJ, the FBI, the USDA, UBER, Lyft and of course Tesla and MANY more. They want me and my family DEAD! They will stop at NOTHING! IMPEACH IMPEACH IMPEACH! HUGE COVERUP! WITNESS INTIMIDATION! VIOLATION OF HEAD OF STATE! RACKETEERING! I AM NOT SUICIDAL! I POSE NO HARM TO ANYONE! Tesla took my car in for service again, fixed nothing again. This time they messed up my dashcam even though it is clearly marked with bright red NOTICE stickers on both sides of the car that consent for audio and video recording is given by entering vehicle that is owned by me (not a lease). Car wouldn't charge yesterday, then I do the newest software update and when I get 3 miles down the street from my house I yield for an EMS EMT with siren and lights on in the middle of the day with perfect visibility and big surprise the car doesn't even register that I've not only left the lanes without lane keeping assistance but it also doesnt see the emergency vehicle so I have disabled FSD and am refusing to use AP because this is a death trap. When I complained to the FBI about it they tried to have the local PD basically SWAT my house at 4am and wake up my whole family. My wife and I are both FBI witnesses. I also received a letter from the IRS claiming they changed my taxes from 2020 (filed by my accountant) claiming that I owe $132,021 (On less than $800 in gains) by next month or they will charge me $20,000 a month interest. Today I received a notice from my insurance company of 1 year claiming they are canceling my coverage because I "drive UBER Black" which isn't true I never have because the Orlando PD wouldn't approve me to because the insurance agent lied about the coverage because Ana (Moore resources Insurance) and Mercury Insurance; was too drunk on New Years Day and has caused me to lose $30,000+ in lost revenue because she ruined my 4 month wait for UBER black approval which has completely destroyed my financial ability to provide for my family. I received a call from a DOT agent a couple weeks ago from Washington DC but the call was dropped so he called me back on a cell and we haven't been able to contact each other since. I am REALLY in fear for my life. I am an FBI whistleblower and POTUS is retaliating against me and anyone who helps us. SOS SEND HELP!

While driving at speed (75-80 mph) on Interstate 90 and 80 (different days) auto aggressively applied brakes. No other autos, trucks or obstructions were anywhere close to the car. There was no forewarning the problem was going occur. All occurred in daylight from morning until mid afternoon. I recognize this as phantom braking. Tesla refuses to look at the car because I did not have the exact time the problems occurred, messages from 6/2/23. I am of the opinion if this was Elon's car they would look at it.

My car's forward collision warning system, gave another false warning: 1. May 31, 2023 at 9:04am 2. While driving on Rte. 50 at Fairfax, VA 3. I had more then enough safe distance between my car and the car in front of me The forward collision system provided sound, and visual alarms for the unwarranted situation that I described above. This cause a great deal of confusion, shock and distracted me from the road.

TIRES
The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model Y equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: ContiSport Contact 5 ContiSilent, Tire Size: 255/45/R19, DOT Number: 1AF0FBJJL4321. The contact stated while parking the vehicle, the front and rear passenger’s side tires struck the curb. The contact inspected the tires and became aware of tearing of the tires. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the failure was referred to as chunking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who declined to replace the tires and advised the contact to contact the tire manufacturer. The manufacturer informed the contact that due to curb impacts; the warranty was voided and that the contact would incur the cost of replacing the tires. The tires were the original equipment. The tires were not replaced. The failure mileage was 4,000.

Tesla full self driving drove off highway curb and dropped 10 feet down, vehicle was total loss, airbags popped. There was a car trying to change to Tesla lane, Tesla overacted and took over control, and driver was unable to take back the control while in full self driving mode, no warning sign whatsoever during the accident, Tesla just drove off high way curb by itself. No collision between Tesla and other car. As experienced driver for over 30 years, I have never had accidents at fault, never made such silly mistake to drive off high way.

2023 TESLA Y -Consumer is writing about concerns with the speed assistance, auto-pilot (quick stopping action). Consumer was unaware of the dangers and that there was no cruise or lane control. Consumer submitted service request. Consumer has listed summary of observations & incidents. Consumer listed several questions: Are all Tesla Y prone to phantom breaking? Did we get a lemon? Can we get it fixed? Can Tesla replace the computer? Can we get a replacement car? Can we make the sales go back and instead buy a safe car? Do you have to be in an accident, having someone injured or having someone killed for Tesla to provide a warning to customers of Tesla Y? As a new Tesla owner what I the next step? Can we trust our Tesla Y not to cause an accident? Should we garage the car until Tesla has made its needed software updates? Can we return the car to Tesla? Get it replaced?

Drove my Tesla on a road trip for the first time and while driving the vehicle would slam on the brakes with no vehicle object or person in front of the vehicle. Very dangerous due to driving 70mph and vehicle tried to come to stop with vehicles behind me. This happened at least 3 times while in adaptive cruise control.
