SummaryComplaint Rear side window reversed when opening/closing soft top - Convenience closing Cause 1. Rear side window setting 2. Damage to inner rear side window sealing rail (abrasion marks at sealing rail, see picture, folding of the sealing lip, see picture 2) 3. Body-in-white side wall shaft width too low. To this end, check the shaft width of the side wall for dimensional accuracy; see picture 3 Note: Inner and outer sealing rail are removed 4. Window divider at rear side window, metal insert sticks out, see picture 5 Remedy • SCN coding N22/6 (CRCM238) If SCN coding does not remedy the issue, consider the following points 1. Adjust the rear side window according to the specifications in the WIS. Note: Rear side window/center setting to shaft center of body-in-white side wall 2. Check inner sealing rail for damage. Replace in the event of damage 3. Enlarge shaft width of side wall of body-in-white; see picture 4. Information: Measuring point 1 at 0 cm: Nominal dimension 37.7 mm Measuring point 2 at 22 cm: Nominal dimension 31.0 mm Measuring point 3 at 34 cm: Nominal dimension 33.5 mm 4. SummaryComplaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. E.g. when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double-clicking on the button instead. This reduces the likelihood of the button being activated accidentally or unintentionally. The recoding can be carried out as follows: 1. Enter AO Code O19 into VeDoc (O for Oscar, not "zero") 2. EZS N73: Perform SCN coding 3. Deactivate the vehicle key (a successful deactivation is indicated by the LED lighting up 2x briefly and then 1x for a long period). 4. Place the vehicle key on the key symbol in the storage compartment and then switch on the ignition. All other vehicle keys must be outside of the vehicle when doing this! Perform steps 3 and 4 successively for all vehicle keys. Notes: 6th, 7th and 8th generation keys can be deactivated as follows: Up to modification year 22/1 double-click on the locking button As of modification year 22/1, by pressing and holding the locking button + double-clicking on the release tab On model series 167, the storage compartment with the key symbol is located in the armrest. The SCN coding from the EZS is only transferred correctly to the vehicle key under the following conditions: Only one vehicle key is located in the vehicle, this key has been deactivated and it is positioned on the marking in the storage compartment for the data transfer. The costs for this adaptation are to be borne by the customer.

SummaryComplaint A squeaking noise comes from the electric power steering; see video with example. Cause Toothed rack in the area of the screw drive of the electric power steering needs additional grease. Remedy 1. Lift the vehicle and remove the center engine compartment lining; for basic data, see WIS AR61.20-P-1105S 2. Loosen the bellows of the electric power steering on the right of the steering gear and slide outward on the tie rod – the tie rods do not need to be removed! For basic data, see WIS AR46.40-P-9998S 3. Turn the wheels fully to the right. The screw drive of the rack-and-pinion steering becomes visible. See picture 1 of screw drive 4. Clean the screw drive with a clean cloth and remove the existing grease. See picture 2 of cleaned screw drive 5. Prepare a clean brush for greasing the screw drive and, if necessary, mask off the metal sleeve of the brush or similar components to avoid damage to the steering housing or to the screw drive of the toothed rack. See picture 3 with example brush 6. Apply a sufficient amount of long-life grease (A001 989 84 51 09) to the screw drive of the toothed rack with the brush, making sure that this is applied evenly all around; see picture 4 of greased screw drive 7. Reinstall the steering bellows, making sure to replace the inner clamp! Important: The contact surfaces of the bellows and the rack-and-pinion steering should be coated with a thin layer of Renolit (Renolit CX-FO 20, A094 989 38 00 11). For basic data, see WIS AR46.40-P-9998S 8. Move the rack-and-pinion steering several times from one steering limitation to the other to ensure that the grease is evenly distributed in the housing. 9. Assemble in the reverse order.

SummaryComplaint During a phone call, the called party has difficulty understanding/cannot understand the driver, or interference/background noises are audible to the called party during a call. It becomes increasingly difficult to understand as the speed rises. Cause A. Seating of the microphones in the headliner. Side edges are covered by the textile cover (see picture "1") B. Assembly of microphones (B25/20 or B25/21) in the headliner. C. Dirt inside the microphone housing Remedy 1. Press finger on rear of microphone (on adhesive tape) 2. Remove microphone cap from the front 3. Eliminate protruding material residues of the microphone cutout at the headliner, e.g. with a soldering iron. The microphone must be seated in the headliner as shown in picture "2". 4. Push microphone from behind until it is firmly pressed into the headliner 5. Maintain pressure and press/clip cap into microphone from the front. Note: The cover cap must be clearly heard and felt to engage. 6. This procedure must be carried out on both microphones (B25/20 and B25/21) Note: • It is recommended to replace the cover caps. • The non-woven cloth in the cover cap protects the microphone from soiling and must not be removed. SummaryComplaint The flap of the reversing camera opens and closes by itself during forward travel several times during the trip. No camera image is displayed in the head unit. The reversing camera or the 360° system functions normally when activated manually or by engaging drive range "R". Cause This is not a malfunction, but an intended system behavior. Calibration of the reversing camera is in progress. The calibration is completed by: • Opening the camera cover for a maximum of 5 cumulative minutes. • If the vehicle speed is < 35 km/h (<22 MPH). • The steering wheel angle is < 10°. If calibration is aborted by exceeding one of the above conditions, the camera retracts and the calibration will re-attempt once the conditions are achieved and the speed returns to the range of 18 km/h (~11 MPH). Remedy SCN code PARK213M on MFA2 facelift vehicles produced after 09/2024 (A-Class, CLA, GLA, etc...) so the complete calibration speed window is available. For vehicles with PARK213M or PARK223 a calibration is completed successfully by: • Driving forward (typically less than 1 minute). • Vehicle speed is < 35 km/h (<22 MPH). • The steering wheel angle is < 10°. • During daylight. • Without a vehicle following too closely (camera must be able to see asphalt). When calibration has completed successfully, the camera door closes automatically for the rest of the driving cycle. The camera will now only open if the customer requests (Example: Engaging reverse gear). The calibration of the camera will re-initiate every drive cycle (ignition change). The customer can generally perform calibration at the first attempt while briefly maintaining a speed range of 15 km/ h (~9 MPH) and 35 km/h (~22 MPH). The customer can therefore play a significant role in reducing the camera door noise and actuation frequency.

The customer can generally perform calibration at the first attempt while briefly maintaining a speed range of 15 km/h (~9 MPH) and 35 km/h (~22 MPH). The customer can therefore play a significant role in reducing the camera door noise and actuation frequency.
