This update is designed to enable your vehicle to be Vehicle to Everything (V2X) ready. V2X provides the ability to use your vehicle as an energy storage system for properly equipped homes. A compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately) is required. After activating the V2X feature in the Kia Connect Store, V2X can be used by connecting to a compatible bi-directional charger (sold separately). For more information about V2X, its benefits, and availability, please refer to the Kia Owner’s website.

The V2X technology allows EV9 vehicles to interact with other devices such as Vehicle-to-Home ‘V2H’ and Vehicle-to-Grid ‘V2G’ technology which enables bidirectional charging, where the EV's battery can be used as a mobile energy storage unit, providing power to the grid or a home backup power source.
