On June 14th, I wrote a complaint of having issues of my car stopping on me on June 6. Thinking it was the fuel system, since that was the message that O'Reilly's gave me. I was out of commission till July 16th, when I got the fuel vapor leak detection pump & the canister purge valve replaced. That same day my car ran fine with 2 times within the travel back home, of my car having issues starting up again. I managed to make it to O'Reilly's to see what the issue may have been now. I was told that again the message read evap leak & now a new warning of the crankshaft senor. I was able to still drive home and let the car rest. The next day, July 17th, I was on my way to work and a block before I was to get on the freeway, my car shut off on me again! I managed to get to the gas station. I was only 10 minutes from the house and it took 3 hours of stopping & going on a busy street and only getting so far back up the street, that I again had to be towed back to the house. Where my car has remained parked since then. The warning lights are still the 'Check Engine" & now the "Electric Throttle Control Warning" Two weekends ago, a family member helped jumpstart it, it was running fine until I took the cables off and my car turned off again. I just came on the site just to see if there may have been another recall for my car. And it turns out the very issue is the crankshaft senor that was recalled in 2017! I've only had this vehicle since January 2022, and between the 2 owners & dealerships before, this should of been fixed! My vehicle was made in May of 2016 which was apart of the recall group! And this issue is showing up literally 7 years later. I don't know what the next process is for how to get a recall fixed, especially since my car is not drivable! Also, I don't know what else may go wrong after this second issue is to be corrected. I'm unsure if this vehicle has been fully inspected before selling it! I don't feel safe in driving in its uncertainty!

while driving multiple warning lights on the dashboard come on. at times the vehicle will stall and I have to wait 10-15 minutes before it will restart. at times the anti-theft system will wngage causing all interior components and dash lights to go out, i then have to pull over , disconnect the battery and pull the ignition fuse to reset the anti-theft system, after waiting approximately 15 minutes the vehicle will start and operate normally. while driving at times the vehicle will suddenly jerk very hard feeling like I hit a large speed bump, the warning lights on the dash will all come on briefly and the vehicle will resume driving normally. at times the vehicle stalls while idling. while driving with the accelerator pressed the fog lights will flash and the inerior fan will blow at a decreased speed, once the accelerator is released the fog lights glow normally and the interior fan will blow correctly until the vehicle slows below 18 mph at which time the interior fan will again decrease in functioning. this also affects the adapter and charging of my phone as it will not charge properly while plugged into the aux adapter. I believe there is some sort of electrical malfunction. I have replaced the vehicles ECM and crankshaft position sensor, and I am considering replacing the throttle position sensor and throttle pedal assembly. There are no active recalls listed for this vehicle at this time, although any one of these issues could potentially cause an accident with injuries especially on wet or icy road conditions, and given this vehicle is front wheel drive the temporary jolting from whatever is causing the vehicle issues could potentially cause a lose of control resulting in an accident. It should be noted that all of these issues began at approximately the same time period, and after reading through otgher complaints it would appear that there is some sort of significant electrical malfunction in these vehicles. SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
When the ABS wheel sensor detaches from it's mounting point on the transaxle (i.e. from rust) but is still in proximity to the tone wheel, the intermittent signals sent to the ABS system causes unpredictable, uncontrolled application of the brakes while driving. This could very likely cause an accident as the car will brake without the brake lights illuminating resulting in a following vehicle crashing into the car. Also, unexpected braking could easily cause loss of control of the vehicle. There were yellow (not red) warning lights on the instrument cluster indicating that there was a problem with the ABS/Anti-skid / 4WD drive system. The warning lights appeared several days before the braking behavior was observed.

When you apply accelerator the car will not accelerate in a safe timely manner, it seems like the car is choking and will not pickup speed, sometimes will chug and the engine light comes, it also happens on local roads. It has been a continuous problem and a serious safety issue on the highway, when it happens you have to pull over turn engine off, restart and hope it has reset. The car has been brought back to the dealer numerous times they say they don’t know what the problem is.

My 2016 Jeep Patriot 4X4 engine light is staying on. When I took it to a mechanic to have it read it stats faulty cramshaft and camshaft position sensors. My engine has stalled, loss of acceleration and power, shuddering, and jerking that is continuously happens. Jeep manufactures said its not there problem. I need help with my vehicle, not just for my safety but for the safety of my kids. Also the problem is only getting worse.

Vehicle stalls and doesn't start. Would also occasionally shake and the check engine light comes on. Throttle body was replaced less than 1 year ago and it is currently not starting due to the same issue. Needs another throttle body. It's the position sensor that seems to go bad due to all the heat generating around it. Both times it really acted up once the weather warned. Unfortunately you can't just replace the sensor, the whole throttle body needs replaced. At $350 each from the factory. Online it seems like a lot of people are having the same problem.

Total Erosion of front and rear subframe. Replaced front 2021 rear rot 2023 so bad mechanic shop wouldn’t let me drive it after needing a inspection sticker( couldn’t get). Never was notified for extended warranty about replacing this part. Huge safety issue.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while inspecting the vehicle, the coolant level was low after recently filling the coolant reservoir. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic and was informed that the coolant was leaking, and the source of the leak was the radiator. The radiator and cap had been replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic however, the source of the leak could not be determined. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.

Car stalls after fill up. NUMEROUS online Jeep forums have noted this issue for years. There seems to be an issue with the “vapor canister”. Recall was apparently issued for 2011 model - but not older models. It is intermittent yet consistent problem over past few months. Please note that an Engine stall leaves steering wheel LOCKED and unable to maneuver car for a period until can restart. Can leave driver on a VERY DANGEROUS situation traveling at speed !

Before this drivers headrest exploded on me striking my neck I was already totally disabled with known cervical issues from congenital spinal stenosis. I've had 3 disk diaections and cage pedicle screws fixation of L4 L5 S1. Previous to this exploding headrest injury I was attempting to get off social security obtaining online Google certifications. Friday the 7th of July not long after dark my wife and I going to town for food. My wife already got in passenger seat of our 2017 jeep patriot she bought new, no rear end collisions. As soon as I got in driver's seat and in motion of shutting door as soon as it shut boom striking me in back of neck head, first thought is an attacker was hiding behind me and hit me in head with log. I thought I was going to be killed or knocked out and my wife attacked next. I twisted around to fight but nobody there, next thought I was shot and wife shot as she was screaming what's going on. I was holding my head my neck and got out of jeep, opened back door and seen the headrest, it looked not so menacing. My wife feared I sufferd a cuncission I wasn't acting normal and agreed to go if paramedics suggest I do. Firemen examined the headrest and medica said they don't advise if someone should or shouldn't go. A fireman said the headrest is padded and concussions come from hard surfaces. I refused and seen a chiropractor who could fit me in next day as I was really sore, flared up my lower back as well. Speech was difficult and stumbling on words. The chiropractor said he wouldn't touch my neck without an MRI and stated he believes I have a cuncission. He sked why I didn't go to ER and told him what the fireman said. He said boxing its illigal to punch to back of head and boxing gloves are padded. At home after chiropractor who couldn't do much and didn't mess with my neck because he was afraid to I called ambulance again, I was diagnosed at hospital ER with cuncission, sciatica R side hip down leg. Hearing issues and speech

To whom it may concern I purchased a 2016 Jeep Patriot Sport on May 21 2022, the vehicle since date of purchase has been stalling at acceleration speeds of 65 MPH, as well as in reverse while parking while idle at stop light and stop sign upon stalling NO warning lamp has been present. I have contacted multiple jeep dealerships upon getting a diagnostic for this matter as well as recalls, I was told by jeep by customer service that they did not do recalls on the 2016 models any longer. In the mist of trying to get it serviced , By JEEP the vehicle was serviced 3 times in total by NYC AUTOMART with no avail. The crank shaft sensor was changed BY NYC AUTOMART twice still no solutions.

My transmission failed while going 65 on the interstate with no warning. The only warning lights that were on, was the check engine light and the overheat light, which only came on about 30 seconds before transmission failure. The vehicle lost all power, which made it reduce speed, extremely fast, and wouldn’t gain speed at all which almost caused the vehicle behind me to hit me at a high rate of speed. I had a hypersensitive special needs child in my car at the time, and the very loud, high pitch whiny noises has actually had him struggling since it happened. I am in extremely bad health as well, with a heat intolerance and this jeep stranded myself, and my special needs child on the side of the interstate for approximately two hours because I was out of town and had to wait for someone to travel to me. Temp that day was approximately 90 degrees. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle was checked out by two service centers, one being a certified Jeep dealership, and both confirmed that my transmission failed due to overheating transmission because of hot weather, and that was an ongoing issue with other patriots as well. Spent about three hours, trying to get a hold of Jeep, the representatives are rude and disrespectful, and they wanted me to pay more money for a specific diagnostic test that they required because it would better help them, but not benefit me at all.
