The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the dealer had performed the recall repair for NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V438000 (Electrical System) on the vehicle; however, after the repair, the key fob and the radio became inoperable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the ignition switch was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer referred the contact to an independent technician for the reprogramming of the key Fob. The contact stated that he took the vehicle to a second dealer, Chrysler of Lawrenceburg (1181 Bypass S, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342) instead; however, the dealer informed the contact that the key fob could not be reprogrammed. Additionally, the contact stated that the ignition switch failed, which required the contact to jiggle the ignition key inside the ignition switch several times to start the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 153,468.

Electrical System is failing. Began with the Electrical sunroof will not open/OR slide all the way open, the sunroof Electrical problem has been this way since I purchased it in 04/2019. Next the touchscreen panel for the radio AM/FM, will shit off while driving down the road randomly and sporadically. CD Player quit working indefinitely, i cant even get my CD out of the CD player. Will not play any CD or radio if cd player is attempted to be activated. Airbag warning light is showing on dash 24/7, however, vehicle has never been wreaked. No airbag been deployed. Vehicle has NEVER been in a wreak. caused injury due to rough and rugged suspension and while driving the vehicle throws passengers and driver. Has been Serviced & checked. has failed to start 23 times in a row. checked alternator, starter, ect. 7-10 minutes of attempting to start without luck. professional mech. claimed its the electrical system; pro mechanic fixed problem. Problem persists with Electrical system has caused the gears to slip while cruise control is actively in use and if going up a hill rpm's will sky rocket from 1 to 6 in a heartbeat. JEEP COMMANDER is a v6 but drives as a 4 cylinder. Driving on Highway is dangerous when Electrical system breaks down without warning. This has scared my fiance and I several times for fear of our lives. Suspension and shocks do not work well, as the slightest bump is rough and rugged throwing passengers & driver around. All these defects never occurred until 2021. Electrical system is the most important component of the vehicles makeup it makes everything run smoothly and every single day i have electrical system problems that effects my safety and anyone in my 08 jeep commander. This is a manufacturer problem, i know this because a professional mechanic informed me of this and asked me to request a recall on my vehicle. Please help to correct these issues for the safety of all those on the road. Thank you for your time and consideration. God Bless

Vehicle periodically loses signal from right rear pressure monitor, displaying — in place of thenpressure reading. EVIC displays “Service Tire Pressure Monitoring System”, TPMS indicator light blinks. Took vehicle for service, they replaced the TPMS sensors. Issue reoccurred. Returned to servicing dealer, right rear TPMS sensor again. Issue reoccurred. Servicing dealer indicates that part number 5026189AH likely needs replacing but part shows out of stock. Contacted Jeep Customer Care and they confirmed part has been discontinued and no replacement part is available. TPMS system no longer works reliably.

Transmission over temp is a never ending light that lights up daily. I've had 3 reprogrammed PCMs and the ECM replaced as well. The car was also reprogrammed at the dealership twice with the results the same. It will work for a couple days then right back to the original issue and including a few more. Recently the trans over temp came on and stalled in rush hour traffic. Resulting in a almost serious accident. Several attempts made to restart the car. Started and stalled immediately. After the 4th time and reving the engine very hard it stayed running. I've called the recall line on this and several other recalls (1 that was under warranty) with no resolution. This is now a safety issue for me and others on the road. This car is a lemon and should be taken off the road. I've waisted money at the dealership being charged over $300 each time to reprogrammed with no improvement. Bought 3 PCMs at $1200 each. I replaced almost everything under the hood and car with no positive results.

TTHE 4.7 ENGINE SUDDENLY QUITS WHILE DRIVING, BOTH AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS.. I HAVE HAD TO PULL INTO BREAKDOWN LANES IF ANY, WITH NO POWERS STEERING, AND AT GREAT RISK COASTING ACROSS LANES TO SAFETY. THE JEEP DEALER IN MY AREA SAID THERENARE NO RECALLS, ALTHOUGH MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH THE ENGINE QUITTING. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU CANT GET OVER TO A SAFE SPOT.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the radio would make an abnormal ticking sound while starting the vehicle with the ignition key. The contact also stated that the vehicle also had lost motive power and stalled while accelerating from a complete stop. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred several times. The contact stated while driving above 40 MPH uphill with his 8 months pregnant wife sitting in the front passenger’s seat, the vehicle shuddered, stalled inadvertently, and started rolling backward. The Electrical System has failed. The center sound system shuts off and reboots on its own every hour or 2 causing electronic failure and has proven to get worse over time. Following that the Jeep will randomly not start, mechanics have told me that it must be the Electrical System because it is not starter, alternator or the battery. Failure to start engine has occurred over 20 times...effecting my ability to drive to work a few times. Power Train has failure has caused electronic control, software, shift lever/gear control and indicator devices, torque, drive axles, hubs, shafts, CV joints, housings and related safety systems to fail/stop working while in drive; example the Jeep was driving 50 miles an hour and transmission gears shut down and i tried shifting into neutral attempt to start transmission/engine failure. All transmission gears shut off. Then after 5 minutes came back on and started working again while driving down a country highway , luckily no other vehicles passed during this incident. This scared me and the passenger in fear of wreaking from lack of control of the vehicle. This has happened 2 times. Having severe problems with gear shifting or transmission failure. Has presented a safety hazard. The speed control fluctuates when driving up a hill or vehicle stalling while driving at 50 mph and must let off the accelerater in order to get vehicle back into correct gear. Vehicle has been inspected by mechanic by using diagnostic tests and each time they cannot find anything wrong with the transmission or engine...only Electrical System which makes sense because the Jeep is a smart car and professionals have informed me to take the jeep to the manufacturer inorder to fix the Electrical Systems malfunctions. there were no messages/warnings prior to each failure which began in the spring of 2021. Except the radio/center electronic consol which failure of the screen, DVD/Video, & radio transmissions that shut down and reboot every 2 hours started 2019.

Original owner of this vehicle. Has 73,000 on 5.7 hemi engine. Engine blew up on 12/25/2022. Only warning was the gauge went to overheat high red. Stopped vehicle, at fuel station and added more anti freeze. Gauge dropped to while normal range. Got back on highway drove 7 miles and enginle like came on and heat gauge went to high red then dropped to nothing. Got vehilcle off the road and it immediately shut down. Engine blew up. Had vehilcle towed to Jeep Dealership 12/26/2022. Need engine replaced at only 73, 000 miles. Chrysler no longer makes this engine and a rebuilt will have to go into this vehicle. No offer or explanation of why this engine blew up with such low mileage. I was left stranded in 5 degree weather for about 45 minutes along interstate trying to get my roadside assistance to help. They couldn't speak understandable english. After 40 minutes of this call I ended up calling State Police for help. I knew I was starting to go into hypothermia. State Police arrived in minutes and put me in their car to warm me up and they called tow co. That co. showed up in 15 minutes. I called Chrysler myself to try to find a new engine but they discontinued this engine in July 2022, early cut off for an engine. No new engines in inventory. No offer of any kind to assist or ask questions about possible injury/causes/or where the vehicle was. No engine should blow with this low mileage. Why did they cut off mfg of this engine so early? No answers. Vehicle is at Hillview Motors, Greensburg, PA 15601(Jeep Dealership) for repair. Jeep Dealership inspected engine and determined it was blown. Only warning was guage went hot then engine blew. Nothing in the past on this vehicle.

I Have a similar if not the same complaint as the one on file here form Liverpool, Tx on 12/14/21 - I also have a 2007 Jeep Commander and am having issues with the ignition and contact to start the vehicle. The key at time gets stuck in the ignition, is difficult to turn the ignition and rarely turns on on first turn... It has a failure of contact... and usually requires various attempts to actually ignite and turn engine on. When researching on social media this is a large complaint from owner of vehicles of same make year and model Please advise
