I've had multiple instances where I would be stopped at a red light, when when the light turned green, the car would not accelerate. I would have to turn the engine completely off and back on. This is a safety issue as I'm sitting in traffic and cars/vehicles behind me are expecting me to go. My fear is that someone not be watching my van but the light and accelerate before I am able to move forward. My son, a mechanic, looked at the vehicle. His suggestion was to replace the battery - the vehicle was purchased March 2025, and should be too soon to have to replace the battery. However, when attempting to start it, it sounded like the battery was dying. A couple of weeks after replacing the battery, there had been no issues. I had been driving the vehicle around 20 minutes, most of that at highway speed (80MPH on the toll road). I was idling at a red light. When the light turned green, the vehicle would not come out of the idle mode. I could NOT switch from drive to park. I could NOT turn off the engine. I sat in the road for a minute and a half to 2 minutes (as I sat through an entire light cycle) before the van would finally allow me to turn off the engine and turn it back on. There was no warning, messages or other issues prior to this happening.

the van turns completely off very often when at a complete stop. i am not referring to the auto start/stop feature which is equipped standard on the vehicle. the van physically turns completely off, as if i turned off the car, requiring me to turn the car on completely. this has created very dangerous situations as im often traveling trying to merge into traffic etc and the vehicle is off on active roadways. there is no warning, just turns off completely

Our 2026 Honda Odyssey EX-L repeatedly shuts off completely while stopped at a traffic light or intersection and does not restart on its own. This is not normal Auto Idle Stop operation. When the brake is released, the engine fails to restart; the vehicle must be manually restarted by pushing the ENGINE START/STOP button. This happened four times in the week of October 19, 2026 alone, in addition to earlier occurrences. Each time the vehicle is left stranded in live traffic in an active intersection, blocking traffic and creating a risk of a rear-end collision. No crash, fire, or injury to date. Approximate mileage 8,000. This appears to be the same Auto Idle Stop failure-to-restart condition under NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA25-004, but that investigation covers only 2018-2025 Odyssey -- this vehicle is a 2026, outside its scope. The vehicle is under factory warranty. We request that the investigation be expanded to include the 2026 model year.

I am providing formal notice of a recurring defect involving my leased 2025 Honda Odyssey Sport-L and requesting prompt investigation and resolution under Honda's warranty and applicable Maryland law, including the Maryland Lemon Law. I leased the vehicle on XXX, with approximately 18 miles. It currently has 17,370 miles and has been maintained at authorized Honda dealerships. The vehicle has repeatedly failed to move from a stopped position. On XXX, Heritage Honda of Westminster documented the issue (Repair Order XXX), recording a flashing "D," inability to shift, a transmission-system warning, and Diagnostic Trouble Code P07E4. The code was cleared, but no repair was made because the problem could not be duplicated. On XXX, the defect occurred again while I was stopped at a busy intersection with my five children in the vehicle. When traffic began moving, the vehicle would not move, the dashboard went black, and the vehicle required multiple restart attempts before operating again, creating a serious safety concern. Because this defect has recurred after a documented service visit and remains unresolved, I request that Honda open a case, perform a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and repair, provide copies of all diagnostic findings and repair records, advise me regarding a loaner vehicle, and confirm the warranty and any applicable Maryland Lemon Law remedies. Please preserve all records related to this matter. I reserve all rights available under applicable state and federal law. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It started back in July 2026; I had a warning pop up that some functions aren’t available and to clean front windshield camera. We did. Still received the warning. Sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. I can go down the highway and it will come up and then a few miles later it’ll turn off and the functions work. Even driving around town it does it. I have noticed there are a lot of drivers of the 2018 models having this same issue.

On October 14/15, 2026 it rained. At approximately 12:25pm on October 15, 2026 my power lift gate stopped working. It wouldn’t open with any of the controls. Upon further inspection we noticed the control module had water damage. We replaced the module on October 21,2026. It is still having issues. It opens with the controls but won’t close using the same controls. You have to manually close it.

I believe the issue is the media oriented systems transport coaxial cable and FAKRA connector from the 2018-2023 recalls. The rear infotainment system does not load or display anything now. Same goes for the in cabin video and Apple car play. They do not work anymore either. There were no warnings before everything stop working. It just stopped while drive home.

In XXX, the power tailgate on my 2018 Honda Odyssey stopped working. I took the vehicle to authorized Honda dealer Fred Beans Honda of [XXX]. The technician documented in writing on repair order #XXX (XXX): "There is water leaking onto the power tailgate control unit. Technician found the water leak going into from the back of roof on the left side. Needs a new power tailgate control unit." Water entered through the rear body seam seals and dripped onto the power tailgate control module (P/N 74970-THR-A12). The removed module showed severe blue-green corrosion -- it does not fail on its own at 31,500 miles. Safety concern: A tailgate whose control module is destroyed by water intrusion cannot be relied on to latch or stay closed; an unlatched or unexpectedly opening tailgate while driving endangers occupants and surrounding traffic. Known defect, not isolated failure: Honda issued a TSB on rear body seam-seal water intrusion on 2018-2019 Odysseys; federal class action Case No.XXX (XXX.) covers 2018-2021 Odysseys with defective polyurethane seam seals destroying the power tailgate control module; numerous owner reports in the NHTSA database describe identical failures. What I did: The dealer quoted $1,302.88. I first asked American Honda by phone for goodwill coverage and was denied. I repaired it myself with a genuine Honda module ($215.57, Order #XXX, XXX); total out-of-pocket $416.92. On XXX I submitted a written goodwill reimbursement request online (case #XXX, continuing prior case #XXX); on XXX Honda denied it as not covered under any campaign, even though the failure is caused by the documented seam-seal defect that is the subject of the pending class action above. What I am asking NHTSA: record this complaint and consider investigation/recall of the 2018-2019 Odyssey seam-seal water intrusion defect. First, the windshield. It cracks for any Little Rock that hits it. I’ve never had this issue with any other car in my life! I’ve had to fix 4 cracks and now it completely cracked and have to replace the entire windshield. Second the sliding door!s!!!!! It’s been an ongoing issue as well. It either closes half way and returns clicking sound and now today it doesn’t open or close I had to force it open to let my kids out! I means bought this car brand new and it’s been nothing but issues! These types of issues should not be occurring on a relatively new car.

- #11772379October 20, 2026SUSPENSION
The rear coil springs on my vehicle failed before reaching 100000 miles. This affected the performance of the suspension system which reduced steering response and stability at highway speeds. It also likely caused early failure of the rear shocks which had to be replaced at about 105000 miles. The problem also lead to uneven tire wear increasing the risk of a tire blowout. The springs are currently being replaced with Honda OEM parts at a mechanic shop.

The vehicle idle start/stop feature has started struggling to reengage, particularly, it seems, in warmer weather. At least six times in the past two months (Sept-Oct 2026), the start fails completely during a drive. What this means is that the vehicle is stopped at a light and the start/stop kicks in. When I lift my foot off the brake to prepare to drive again, a warning flashes on (it disappears quickly but says something was detected) and the car shifts into park. I cannot put the vehicle into drive without turning off the car and turning it back on. This is very dangerous as I have been at the front of and in long lanes of traffic. Other drivers honk and try to go around me while I am getting the vehicle back up and running. The dealer has checked the car twice but cannot replicate the issue (both days they had the car, the temperature outside was below 80 degrees, and that seems to be a factor). Therefore, they cannot make or recommend any fixes other than turning off the feature everytime I turn on the vehicle.

When starting the car it takes a long time to officially start. This could leave me stranded. A Honda dealer has confirmed this is an ongoing issue as well as other car shops. It started to appear a few weeks ago. I have video I can send. The auto start stop system has shut the vehicle off in the middle of an intersection which could cause an accident or me being stranded.

The auto start-stop system fails frequently. If I do not turn off the system, when I stop on red light, the engine turns off as expected. However, it frequently fails to start. The car stalls and it's difficult to turn back on. I need to turn the car off completely first, then try to turn it back on. This usually takes 10-20 seconds. The situation presents a safely hazard as I'm not able to continue to drive through an intersection on a green light. I took the car to dealer 3 times. They were not able to reproduce he issue nor find the cause of the problem
