On [XXX], at around [XXX] my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation suddenly lost power while I was driving eastbound on [XXX]. The battery was still running, but the engine lost power and the accelerator did not respond and the truck would not move. I was stranded in the roadway. OnStar emailed me about a critical vehicle issue and reported DTC P129F. Because the truck was stopped in a live lane of traffic, I called 911. Responders blocked part of the road to protect me and to give the tow truck room to recover the vehicle. No one was injured, but this could easily have caused a serious collision. A few days later, I had the truck towed to Seaview GMC in Lynnwood, WA. The dealer diagnosed an internal failure of the fuel pump power control module, the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module mentioned in the GM Bulletin earlier this year. This matches a known issue described in GM Service Bulletin 24-NA-139, which covers DTCs P129F and P023F and lists 2023 Sierra 1500 models. The bulletin describes symptoms including no-start and stalling. The dealership has attempted to charge me $200 for diagnosis and $261 for the fuel pump module. I had asked them if this was covered under warranty, they responded that they would check with their warranty specialist. This conversation happened at the Seaview GMC Dealer approximately 5pm on [XXX]. The informed me they would call the next day to confirm if this is covered or not covered by warranty. I am reporting this because a sudden loss of power while driving on a highway is a serious safety risk. I am concerned that other owners may experience the same failure at highway speed, and I would like NHTSA to review this issue. My 6.2 motor in my 2023 GMC AT4 truck has blown up. As part of the recall that GM has on this motor it passed the "pico test" at around 50k miles or so ( I can provide the paperwork) and then this past week with 63k miles or so the engine developed a miss and eventually by the time I got it to the dealer there was a significant "engine knock". The service center called the next day and said there was definitely a engine failure and I was lucky to have made it to the dealer. The vehicle is at the dealer waiting on a new engine. I was quoted 2 weeks but we are passing that time frame now. GM needs to be held accountable for this mess.

the styrofoam part on the side rest area, is broken .. When cleaning and setting back together, shouldn’t be a problem. Wish it was a different material, since my baby needs to be protected from that. Also putting it in the car, we all touch that part and it’s not so sturdy. When we hit the brake, we held it for extra security and noticed it broke when we got home, and i unassmebled it to check.

I a filing a safety complaint regarding my 2023 GMC Sierra1500. While, driving, the front hood shield/trim piece unexpectedly detached from my truck and flew off into traffic. This occurred on a freeway and could have caused a serious Collison. This is a hazard that this could detach without warning. I believe it is defective. Other models have had a recall on this part and I believe this model should as well

My truck's engine failed in April 2026 and was replaced. Approximately 7,000 miles later, the replacement engine failed as well. After bringing the vehicle to the dealership for another engine replacement, the newly installed engine seized during the dealer's test drive before the repair could even be completed. As a result, I am facing additional delays and have been without a reliable vehicle for an extended period.

On XXX, at approximately 2:30am, about 30 hours after purchase, a 2023 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate suffered catastrophic engine failure in [XXX] during a planned 20 hour trip. The vehicle had about 49,007 miles at purchase and 49,411 miles at the time of failure. The check engine light appeared during the trip. Over five hours into the journey, shortly after passing through a one-lane construction zone with no shoulder, the truck made noises, then lost driving power and began slowing among highway traffic. The dashboard displayed "LOW OIL PRESSURE STOP ENGINE," code P0016, and a transmission warning. I had to move into another lane to reach the shoulder. The sudden loss of propulsion at 2:30am created a serious crash risk because the truck could have been struck by nearby traffic or become disabled on the one-lane road without a shoulder. The engine had received the GM L87 recall remedy on XXX involving a change to 0W-40 oil. Despite this remedy, the engine failed while the vehicle was moving. The repair order lists replacements for the engine, radiator, oil cooler lines, intake manifold and gaskets, spark plugs and wires, water pump gaskets, high pressure fuel lines, fuel pump gasket, and battery. The GMC app currently lists a "Required Product Emission Recall" for the fuel pump power control module and states that module failure can interrupt fuel flow to the engine. However, the NHTSA VIN lookup, refreshed XXX reports zero unrepaired recalls. The reason for this discrepancy is unknown, as is whether the fuel pump recall condition contributed to the incident. I am reporting this sudden loss of driving power and engine failure despite the prior L87 recall remedy because these conditions may pose a serious safety risk. The contact owns a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle jerked and lost motive power. The vehicle was restarted and driven at reduced power to the dealer, where unknown electrical repairs were performed. The failure persisted, and the vehicle was towed to a second dealer, Grissom Chevrolet (181 S Interstate 20 Frontage Rd, Pecos, TX 79772), who replaced the engine. However, the failure recurred, and the vehicle was towed back to the first dealer, who diagnosed that the spark plugs and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. After the dealer performed the unknown repairs, the check engine warning light illuminated when the contact's son-in-law picked up the vehicle. The contact's brother, an independent mechanic, diagnosed that the catalytic converter and other unknown parts needed to be repaired. The contact filed a lemon law claim. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

A 6.2 engine operated as expected for 75,000 miles. I turned a corner at an intersection, and had a loud knocking in the engine occur. For the first 75,000 miles, there wasn't any unusual engine noises or oil consumption.Seconds later the engine light illuminated on the dash, reduced engine power, and every safety light within the dash was going on and off. I managed to drive slow and return to my residence and have the truck towed to the dealership to have the engine replaced. As many have learned, the recall from GM states to either pass a PICO test and change to 0W-40, or have the engine replaced if necessary. My concern is that the replacement engine is the exact same engine with the exact same components that assuredly will fail due improper design, production, and overlooked components that attribute to such failure. The crankshafts are being found to have values of "peaks and troughs" within the finish that are many times out of given specifications. The extraneous pressures created by the Dynamic Fuel management system over time are creating stresses and friction that the designated oil and oil pump are not compensating for. These mechanical stresses over different durations, seem to be part of the cause of the engines failure. The replacement engine came with a warranty that only extends to an odometer reading of 150,000 miles. I no longer have confidence in a manufacturer that is enforcing false resolve upon a customer as a solution. The new engines of replacement have been failing as well. This result exhibits a fact that shouldn't be ignored. The new engines have the same components and are due to fail, just the same as the original. I would like the manufacturer to resolve this failure by offering a "true" solution. A proven remedy and a documented warranty that assures the manufacturer stands behind the product. GM sells a new product that fails and then recalls the engines to replace with the same failed components and lack of warranty.

While driving at highway speeds the upper front grill part of my gmc sierra truck simply flew off. It went airborne and flew behind me causing traffic directly behind me to swerve out of the way into other traffic lanes to avoid missing the grill piece from hitting them. There was no indication of the part being loose or rattling or any warning. It simply just flew off. This could have easily caused an accident or flew into my windshield and cracked it as well. This needs to be investigated. This is a common gmc sierra 2022+ body style issue as I have heard from other owners experienced the same thing.

On Oct 11,2026, at approximately 105,106 miles, I was driving my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 under 20 mph while entering a short designated turning lane at [location]. I felt a sudden, unexpected bump or jolt. The truck slid slightly and abruptly came to a complete stop, as though something had mechanically locked up. Immediately afterward, the dashboard displayed a “Braking System Failure” warning. A front wheel appeared collapsed underneath the truck, with substantial visible damage to the front suspension and surrounding components. The specific component that failed first and the initiating cause are UNKNOWN. I did not knowingly strike a curb, pothole, road debris, another vehicle, or another object before the incident. The truck has no aftermarket lift or leveling kit. I purchased it less than two weeks before this occurred. The wheel collapse, sliding, and sudden stop compromised my ability to safely control the truck and created a risk of collision with surrounding traffic. A similar event at higher speeds could have caused a serious crash. The truck is being towed to the selling dealership, which is covering the towing cost. I am seeking an independent GMC inspection and requesting preservation of damaged components and diagnostic data. Inspection availability can be coordinated with me and the dealership. At the time of this report, I have not received a confirmed mechanical diagnosis. Inspection by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or other parties: [state who has inspected it, or UNKNOWN]. The braking warning appeared immediately after the sudden stop. Earlier warning lights, messages, or symptoms: [describe any, state NONE if accurate, or UNKNOWN]. Photographs are available. I can provide inspection findings when available.

Upper grille deflector flew off going down the highway and hit the windshield and cracked it. Truck is a 2023 and warranty or dealership will not cover the repairs. Its a $85k truck and I don't think pieces of it should just fly off going down the highway. What if it hit somebody walking or riding a motorcycle.
