When I started my truck the Service Power Steering and Service ESC notifications came up on my panel. Now my truck has no power steering and it very difficult to steer and navigate. We are in the middle of a winter storm so it is even more of a safety issue in slippery conditions. The ESC system does not engage either and the truck slides when taking corners much more than it used to before the issue.

I have a 2021 GC Sierra 1500, The guidance lines in the display when in reverse go from non-existent to barely visible and are not usable especially in sunlight. The service man at Miller Chevrolet in Marianna Fla says GMC is aware of the problem, that it was caused by the last update download and will be fixed by another download to correct the problem. He also says the same issue is nationwide and all trucks have the issue which I find hard to believe. 1.If that were true it would be a simple matter of a few lines of code to correct the problem. 2. I have been chasing this problem since October and have now made four trips to the dealership. 3. I cannot believe all trucks have this issue and also I suspect the same backup system is in all GMC vehicles regardless of type. 4. I cannot believe GMC would allow such a problem to exist since the last update download which was months ago. 5. I contacted GMC Customer Care in October after the dealership told me they had no idea what was causing the issue. I have had a case number [XXX] since that time. I was told on the first call that if necessary a Tech would be sent to fix the problem. Today I called asking for a tech to be sent only to be told I had to take it to another dealership and try them before a Tech could be sent! I have two questions, can you help with this and does this qualify as a "lemon law" case? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Noticed that there was a recall on this vehicle NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000. My concern is that I took my vehicle in back in 2018/2019 for this repair. However my vehicle vacuum pump completely failed the other day where I cannot brake. My vehicle is only at 70,800 and fail to see that if a proper repair was completed back in 2018/2019 for it to fail again a couple of years later with low mileage. While I was able to get this vehicle home safely my concern is that if it failed earlier in the day on the highway I may have cause a serious incident.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle lost power steering and power braking functionality. The contact stated that her husband did not see any warning lights being illuminated. The contact stated that her husband pulled over and stopped the vehicle. The vehicle could not be restarted. The contact stated that her husband purchased a fuel head for the diesel engine. The fuel head was replaced, the vehicle was started, and ran for less than a minute when the contact heard loosened nuts and bolts coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle stalled and was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the CP4 had to be replaced with a CP3 Conversion (Part 10904), fuel pump module assembly (Part N10021) and a Duramax Conversion kit (Part 10904). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

Just purchased this used vehicle in December 2022 with high miles (202000) with a dealers extended warranty. Problem has happened twice in 2 weeks. While backing up slowly and turning my wheel the vehicle stalled and Service Stabilitrak came across the dash as it died. Then upon restarting it told me to roll drivers window down and up and the memory seat function cleared as did my clock. Like it had a battery replacement and reset to factory. Took into a GMC service shop where they found code P0700 and P0711. They were able to replicate my concern. Telling me to replace the transmission harnesses and that it is not covered under my extended warranty for powertrain. Going to cost me $1500 in repairs. After extensive research I see this is a common problem yet no recall has been issued for my 2016 GMC Sierra crew cab. Very frustrating!!

The rear window on the 2019 GMC Sierra SLT leaks water into the cab. This presents a serious concern to the owner of the vehicle because unless you are specifically looking for the leak you may not even know there is one. Upon noticing the leak, one can witness a steady drip of water behind the rear seat, drivers side. My personal concern is that what happens after the water has leaked and had gone unnoticed for an extended period of time, does mold start to grow? Does my truck have mold growing in it? With two young children in the vehicle I am concerned about their health and safety. My frustration with this issue is that GM refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue. My dealer has brought this issue up with GM but the claim has been denied. I have no idea how long the leak has been happening but it’s a manufacturing problem that exists and it certainly shouldn't be the owners responsibility to fix the problem. More importantly, it shouldn't be my young childrens health that is affected by the manufacturers incompetency and ignorance.

- #11497286December 13, 2022SERVICE BRAKES
All 4 brake rotors are warped according to my local GMC dealership. They also told me all of the inside brake pads are worn twice as much as the outer pads, which in my opinion indicates a manufacturing and/or computer controller issue. Safety is an issue when the inside brake pad wears down to metal while the outers are still over 75% of new thickness. GMC dealer told me they're seeing this on countless Sierra trucks made in the past few years but there is no recall and GMC will not cover it under warranty. First symptom was slight pulsing while braking downhill. 2-3 weeks later my brake pad wear indicator read 82% front, 88% rear. The following day it gave me an error message saying "service brake monitor" so I took it to my GMC dealer which is when they told me my brake pads and rotors all need to be replaced but the truck only had 22800 miles on it at that time. They said it could still be driven and pass inspection. Since then I have contacted GMC about them covering it and I have not made any progress. GMC has had numerous brake issues resulting in recalls in the past 3-6 years but unfortunately this particular issue has not yet reached recall status. I hope this gets resolved before I am forced to pay for brake replacements out of pocket, which nobody should have to do on a vehicle with so little miles on it. The work order invoice I uploaded indicates ""pads at wear limit, both front and rear" but it does not specify what the technician and service advisor told me regarding only the inside pads are worn. However I do have a recording of the service advisor telling me that if needed. You'll also notice that I uploaded a copy of the state inspection done by them that same day which indicates my brake system passed the requirements. Please help.

Dashboard has completely cracked and fallen apart. I fear safety if airbag were to deploy, that there would be plastic pieces that could directly damage passengers in the car. I am also very disappointed at the cost to repair the dash and the value that is lost from the truck because of the cracked dash issue.

The rear window defogger is smoking and sizzling. The connection on the passenger side glass that connects the moveable harness for the center glass smokes and sizzles when the rear defogger is on. There is a recall on these vehicles in Canada for this issue. My concern is that it may start a fire. The connector is right behind the right rear passenger seat, imposing a threat to the occupant of that seat. Also, the rear defogger comes on automatically with heated mirrors when remote started. I cannot use remote start, mirror defogger, or rear glass defogger currently due to this defect. I noticed a sizzling sound while driving the truck. I pulled over and began searching. I found smoke being emitted from the connector attached to the rear glass on the passenger side. This is a serious issue. It is a fire hazard. The vehicle could catch fire while driving or while remote engine start has been activated in temperatures lower than 40 degrees. There is a difference in an uncommon electrical short and a known problem. General Motors is aware of this issue and there has not be a notification to owners in the United States nor are there any recalls or suggested repairs. The safety of consumers is in jeopardy with this known problem occurring in multiple lines of their vehicles. Any with a power sliding glass could be affected.

Yes, the airbag has not been replaced but I have another SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM with this vehicle: The stabilitrak system does NOT work, it is NOT POSSIBLE to shift into gear, if the vehicle is put into use there is a definite possibility that the truck will go into LIMP MODE with a very limited speed (20 mph?) while trying to keep up with the traffic flow at 75+mph while the. transmission searches for which gear and wheel to apply power. This is a frightening experience to say the least. And I am without my work truck (and work) for more than 4 months because GMC has no ETA for parts to repair this problem. I guess this is NOT. safety issue in reality since I cannot/ will not drive this piece of dangerous GENERAL MOTORS engineering nightmare. When I search for solutions to this problem I find that there are many many GM vehicles (cars, suvs, vans, trucks) experiencing the same SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS situations. It is time to investigate this company before it shutters its doors and moves offshore to leave their junk in the United States without responsibility for repairs or accidents. I purchased my vehicle in January 2022. On 11/18/22 I captured a photo across my dash stating that the trailer brake system needed to be serviced (photo attached) . This was the second time this message appeared within days. The vehicle continued to beep and flash for a long period of time clearing out my dash screen making it UNSAFE TO DRIVE. The beeping noise startled me, almost causing an accident on the freeway. I did not know what the warning meant as I wasn't towing a trailer. I wasn't towing anything and could not turn off the beeping sound or the flashing screen, in spite of hitting the dismiss button. I don't know why the message continued to go on and assuming there is an electrical shortage somewhere with the wiring. This needs to be recalled and fixed as it is a manufacturer issue. I do not have any aftermarket parts installed in this vehicle. This same alert message appeared again yesterday 12/5/22 as I was driving back from the airport. It continued for almost 2 hours while on the freeway and again I was not pulling or towing anything. I pulled over, checked my tailgate, turned off the vehicle and turned it back on and the message continued until I got home. It is very alarming and annoying and scared me. This is a big safety hazard and almost caused an accident again as the alert is very loud and flashes across, clearing out your screen, causing you to take your eyes off traffic looking ahead. This time, I was traveling in heavy traffic. Please investigate this further. Thank you

On November 14th, while commuting home from work, my transmission failed while I was stopped at a red light. After the light turned green, my car would not move when I pushed my foot on the gas. The engine would rev up but nothing would happen. I turned off the engine and re-started several times but the car would never move. I eventually gave up and turned over my emergency blinkers and started calling tow trucks. I was stuck in the center lane of a 4-lane road road at a very busy interstate interchange during rush hour. These were incredibly unsafe conditions as the location of my vehicle almost caused several accidents. It took over 3 hours for a tow truck to show up, move my vehicle from the busy road, and tow it to the local dealer. After investigating, the dealer said the transmission pump blew apart of sent metal throughout the transmission and caused it to be inoperable. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to this occurrence.

Was in a parking lot, moving just 2mph and had to literally mash down on the brake pedal - both forward and backward. Also, I put my truck in drive and has been making a noise in the transmission it seems and is a loud + lurches forward a bit. Additionally, I was traveling on vacation to Rockport, TX. I've made a appointment with the dealership here at 10:00 A.M. on 9 Dec 22, it's the earliest I can get my truck in. There was previously a brake issue covered under warranty & should be again!
