13540028 Fuel Pump Power Control Module Part failed leaving me stranded and had to get a tow. When the failure occurred, vehicle would not crank and there was no forewarning. It worked and then it didn't. The part is on notional backorder and there seems to be a lot of vehicles out there with the same issue and that just with the mechanics\service departments I've contacted that have had the part on backorder for months. So the fail rate seems high and I'm sure others got stuck in a lot worse situation than me. Then GMC continues to produce vehicles with a newer similar part while not producing the same part for like new vehicles. Which will probably only compound the backorder issue when the newer vehicles eventually have the same issue.

[XXX]: After arriving home and parking in my driveway (plugged in the block heater that came installed from the factory), approximately 35 minutes later my neighbor rang the doorbell. She was yelling that my truck was on fire! The flames were starting to hit my eaves on my house. I put the fire out with my hose. The Sparks Fire Department had to pry open my hood to disconnect the batteries in order to stop the truck from lighting back on fire. The vehicle has been inspected by General Motors and turned over to their insurance. My insurance has also inspected the vehicle and stated they believe that the wiring to the block heater was faulty. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem. This truck has 19,000 miles and is 1.5 years old (2022). How could this be turned over to GM's insurance and not under warranty? I have not had my truck for over 2 months now. I wonder how many of these trucks are lighting on fire? The truck is currently at the local dealership and is available for inspection. GMC has a problem with the electronic brake controller on their 2024 Sierra 2500HD and 3500Hd trucks. All trailers are required to have trailer brakes. In addition the trailer must be equipped with an auxillary battery to activate the emergency breakaway brakes. If the voltage on this battery is higher than the towing vehicle battery, the vehicle controller can display a trailer wiring fault display. When this happens there are no brakes on the trailer. This fault happens intermittantly and can last between 10 seconds to 30 seconds. We constantly have this problem with our vehicle. On two occasions we were in an emergency situation towing a12,500 lb load and had no brakes. This is A SEVERE SAFETY CONCERN. The GMC dealer stated that the problem is because our trailer uses a regular car battery to work the hydraulics and the brakes. They stated that the controller pings the trailer to see is anything is connected and that the car battery can interfear with this signal. When this signal does not return the controller senses that no trailer is connected and disables the trailer brakes. The trailer that we have is new and it is wired according to industry standards. Thre are thousands of trailers on the road that have this configuratiion. We have inspected the trailer and cannot find wiring problems. We have towed the same tyrailer with two different trucks and do not have this problem. A quick search on the internet will reveal that many other people are experiencing the same problem.

My truck keeps getting code p2138, when it happens I get reduce engine power alerts, check engine light and it stalls. It's been doing it for years now. It's very unsafe, last time it it did it I was on the freeway and had to pull to the side, but the car has no acceleration so vehicles are passing me by at 75- 80mph and I almost had a very bad accident.

The infotainment systems audio while driving decreases so much that you have to increase the volume to hear it and then will randomly increase to the correct volume level without warning and then decrease again.

On January 20th 2024 I was cleaning heavy dirt and mud off of my truck, after leaving the car wash and driving about 20 miles, once I parked my tailgate started to open over and over on its own. This happened again on March 4th 2024 after cleaning off a lot of dirt from my vehicle the tailgate opened on its own while my truck was parked in the garage. It opened into the garage door, when I left I did not know it was open, so when I opened the garage door the hinges on the garage door scraped and dented the tailgate as it opened. I had not pressed any buttons inside the truck, outside of the truck, or pressed the tailgate open buttons on the key fob. After intense car washes it has opened on its own each time.

- #11576907March 12, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
When I am braking at low speed my brakes start locking up and eventually do not work. This has happened on multiple occasions. I have almost wrecked multiple times I rarely drive my truck now cause it is unsafe. There is a recall on the brake booster 2014 to 2018 gmc seria but my truck vin is not included on that recall and it’s doing the exact same thing. GM recalls 3.4 million pickups and SUVs over brake pump Sept. 12, 2019 1 The recall includes the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra (model years 2014-2018), and affects a vacuum pump defect that may make it more difficult to brake at low speeds.

While driving both drivers and passenger side blind spot warning lights flash on and off when no cars are near. The problem is worse at night when pulling a trailer. The lights sometimes stay on or starting flashing on both side causing a significant distraction.
