  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have low oil pressure message. Technician may also find a Diagnostic Trouble Code P0521 in the Engine Control Module. Technician should follow all published Service Information diagnosis. When using a scan tool if the oil pressure is low but the oil pressure at the oil filter housing is correct, technician should inspect the Valve Lifter Oil Filter for debris/sludge that could be restricting oil flow to the oil pressure sensor. Technician should remove the Valve Lifter Oil Filter and clean it. If the Valve Lifter Oil Filter cannot be cleaned replace it.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with additional information while diagnosing a diagnostic trouble code P0420. Check for a possible leak in the exhaust system behind the bank one number 2 oxygen sensor. If a leak is found or there is an aftermarket utility bed or trailer hitch installed. Check for a minimum clearance of 1.5 to 2 inches of the exhaust system. Install a new clamp and torque it to 40.5 foot pounds.

Technician should turn off the ignition and cancel retained accessory power. After the vehicle has powered down remove power to the OnStar module for five minutes. THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES A SERVICE PROCEDURE TO INSTALL THE ORIGINAL DESIGN TEMPERATURE-SENSOR WIRING HARNESS TO THE VALVE BODY ON CERTAIN 2015 MODEL YEAR CADILLAC ESCALADE AND ESCALADE ESV; CHEVROLET SILVERADO; AND GMC SIERRA, YUKON, AND YUKON XL VEHICLES. THE SUPPLIER OF THE TRANSMISSION-WIRING HARNESS INTRODUCED AN UNAPPROVED CHANGE TO THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR (THERMISTOR), RESULTING IN INCORRECT OIL-TEMPERATURE READINGS DURING TRANSITION FROM COLD TO WARM TEMPERATURES. THIS COULD CAUSE A HARSH SHIFT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 32ºF (0ºC); HOWEVER, SHIFT QUALITY IMPROVES ONCE THE TRANSMISSION OIL WARMS UP."
