The cast aluminum side plates that hold the front trellis frame to the rear subframe broke just below the top mounting bolts on both sides. I was riding the motorcycle on the highway in rush hour traffic when I heard a "pop" sound and my seating position had slid back and dropped by about 4 to 6 inches. This happened at about 45 mph, but I was able to pull over to the shoulder without crashing. I observed that the lower luggage rack cross bar beneath the rear seat contacted the rear tire, which kept the bottom of the seat from falling all the way down to the tire. There was visible damage to the rear tire tread where the cross bar had contacted it. I researched this online and found that Australia had issued a recall notice covering the same issue in January 2024, but I received no such notice. This happened yesterday and I have not had a chance to bring it to a service center. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
