  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.

  14717 - Special Coverage. On some 2005-2013 model year Chevrolet Corvette vehicles equipped with a manual transmission (RPO MM6, MZ6, MH3 or ME2), the clutch system may fail if unapproved fluids are used to service the system or if a high-pressure pulse occurs during a clutch self-adjustment event. If the clutch system fails, the clutch pedal may not return if depressed. If the clutch pedal does not return, it may be possible to start the vehicle when the transmission is in any gear. This could result in unexpected vehicle movement when the engine is started.

Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0731 stored in the engine control module. Technician should insure the vehicle is equipped with Regular Production Option Code MEL. Dealer should ask the customer if they noticed this concern to happen after reverse operation, if yes then, no further repairs should be performed. The current Engine Control Module calibration can allow this code to falsely set in reverse as the reverse and first gear ratios are real close numerically. Engineering is currently working on a correction for this concern.

Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code P0300 stored. Technician will add coolant dye to the system, run engine through warm up, pressurize the cooling system on a cold soak engine and inspect the suspect cylinder with a bore scope for coolant dye evidence. If coolant is found in the cylinder do not replace the cylinder head because that will not repair this concern. Dealer will need to contact General Motors Product Quality Center for engine replacement.
