  18239 - Emissions Recall - General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall involving certain 2018 model year vehicles, equipped with 4-cylinder engines (RPO LHN, LEX, L3A, LYX, LKN, LE2, LCV or LTG). On some vehicles, an electrical connection in the circuit board may fail in the engine control module. If this occurs, a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), such as the Check Engine Light may illuminate. Replace the Engine Control Module (ECM).

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have raised dents or ripple appearance in the side outer panel of the cargo box around the perimeter of the wheel house opening. Technician should first access the rear of the inner wheelhouse area through the tail lamp cavity and the front of the wheelhouse from under the vehicle, and coat the inner hem of the wheel house to side outer panel with 3M Rust Fighter I. After allowing the 3M Rust Fighter I to dry then apply several coats of Nox Rust X-121B undercoating.

  18029 - Special Coverage. Certain vehicles listed above, may have an inoperative purge solenoid that could lead to excessive fuel vapors entering the combustion chamber from the fuel tank. This condition could result in no start, idle stall, and possible drivability issues such as hesitation. The driver may see a check engine light, and may notice a ticking noise, and variation in idle speed. The driver may experience this condition most immediately after filling up the vehicle with gas or while coming to a stop. This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. Dealers are to inspect for a leak in the solenoid assembly and replace if necessary. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

  18027 - Customer Satisfaction Program. Certain vehicles may have been built with a connector between the electric power steering motor and torque sensor that has a potential for fretting corrosion. If this condition exists, power steering may be lost, and the driver may experience unanticipated increased steering effort as the vehicle reverts to manual steering. A chime will also sound in the vehicle, and a ?Service Power Steering? message will appear on the Driver Information Center (DIC). Manual steering functionality will be maintained but will require additional effort, particularly at lower speeds. Dealers are to replace the complete power steering rack assembly.
